11:00 PM
Can't tell what metal this is: amazon.ca/gp/product/B003JMJM32/…

@WinEunuuchs2Unix I just realized even though I was clicking the "Empty Trash" option of the "full disk" dialog, it wasn't emptying it (not sure why)

Perhaps trying emptying trash as root user? Just a guess. Also is it on the same partition?
I'm afraid I can't be much help as I don't use the trash can, rather rm command instead.

I emptied it on nautilus, it was just the dialog not doing what was expected
think the trash is on ~/.local/share/Trash/files, but not sure if you can just remove it with rm too

2 cups of coffe and i still keep falling asleep. Dafuq

because there are some files on ~/.local/share/Trash/info too
@Serg coffee doesn't really help keeping me awake when I'm too tired

11:13 PM
@IanC yeah , i guess that's the case. Last few days I didn't sleep enough

10 to 12 beers last night and 7 hours of frolicking at the sports bar with coworkers and then an exhuastive trip to the mall today filling up on roast lamb dinner... my body is aching for sleep but Ubuntu Q&A won't let my mind sleep :)

It is insanely difficult to get a TR6 screwdriver.
I finally found one for $20.
$20.
FOR A SCREWDRIVER.

Nathan I think we sell them at work but here is $5.95 USD: ifixit.com/Store/Tools/TR6-Torx-Security-Screwdriver/…

Yeah but then it wants $11 for shipping.
I think I'll just have to get this one: amazon.ca/gp/product/B013GDXOKU/…

Such a thing?

11:27 PM
Haha... yeah the old "gotcha"... That's why I order most stuff from ebay where China vendors give you free shipping.

@WinEunuuchs2Unix Yeah, but I need it sooner than 1-2 months :P

I believe we have some of those in our tool box here...

@ByteCommander Amazon does have those but they take 1-2 months to ship.
I'll just have to swallow my pride and pay the stupid ridiculous price of $20.
At least it looks like a solid quality tool.

What do you need it for?

Opening up a Mac Mini.
(Circa 2014.)

11:28 PM
Eew.
Use a saw.

Yeah, I know.

@NathanOsman That's why I order my new laptop fans a 45 days before they break :p

LOL.

Or use a drill and then replace the screws with proper ones.

Spend $150 on a drill to save $20 on a screwdriver :p

11:30 PM
@ByteCommander ...aaaand you're famous:
Me: I need a TR6 screwdriver Friend: why? Me: To open a Mac Mini (circa 2014) Friend: ew - use a saw 👍
:D

Byte has a friend according to twitter ^^^ :p

@WinEunuuchs2Unix real men already have at least one drill
Because drills are great.

Jeez all I have is a $20 screwdriver set from Memory Express :(

You can use them for everything.

11:34 PM
I think using a drill on everything in my apartment violates my lease agreement...haha

There are many non-destructive use cases for drills.

Lol.

@NathanOsman unfortunately, that is rather cheap.

Really? For a single screwdriver?

11:43 PM
Real tools are expensive, especially the finer ones like torx

It's not a regular torx though, it's a security torx

@WinEunuuchs2Unix case in point.

but remember just because you own it doesn't give you the right to remove the screws on your local ATM :p

Well, there goes my hard earned money... $36 on two screwdrivers.

11:45 PM
They had better last for the rest of eternity.
@Seth Yes, however - amazon.com vs. amazon.ca.

right

They don't even ship them to Canada.
So, back to the drawing board.

I am continually curious what it would cost for me to ship something to you. it'd cost me $9 and I'd get that by tomorrow..

@NathanOsman I searched on "TR6 torx vancouver" and I found Canadian tire solution for you at 10 bucks :) canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/tamper-proof-torx-0250012p.html

Waaaaat.
No way.
Dude.

11:50 PM
It's a nice looking set with 8 bits or so (we'll call it a byte).

Oh but wait.
It doesn't say anything about TR6, does it?

The little whole in the middle makes it TR6 doesn't it?
You can see them in the picture.

nope, only goes to T8
at least according to the description

That would have been awesome though.
Thanks for trying.
I need a TR6 and a T9.

T8 is the size isn't it? The sizes go from T-8 to T-40.

11:53 PM
Either a T9 or a TR9.

hahaha
kitty ipsum:
> Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.
4

Lol.

Using Byte logic -- real men use hammers make the screw look like a nail and hammer the T-8 security torx into the TR6 screw and hammer the T-10 security torx into the TR9 screw head :)
