I have no idea what to do about this answer I came across while reviewing. So I bought a System76 laptop, and it doesn't let me install anything.
They gave an answer and then a phone number. Right or wrong?
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy better: Get a small microcontroller and use that. Have it ping your phone when the door opens. You can attach it with double sided tape and have it ping your phone. That way it bothers no one.
But yeah, I guess it's possible it would upset your managers :/
Actually, this sounds like a nice project. I'm going to be learning statistical/computational languages this summer, so I probably could make a door sensor and log how many times some one walks through my door or something like that
I'm just slightly at loss for ideas. There's plenty of resources for learning things, but I wanted to find some kind of project so that I can make something practical with the languages I'm learning
@TheXed Basically what happened is that in like mid-March, mid-April I realized my schoolwork is going to get tough, so I was kinda staying more and more away. Plus after the school was over, I got into trouble on the relationships front, so that was another thing keeping me away.
I'm working again now, so I should probably be here Tuesdays and Thursdays all day
The weather in Denver has been hectic. Snow in the middle of may, hail during my finals week, and hail yesterday. My girlfriend asks me like "So when Denver will finally have Summer" and I'm like , I've no idea, probably never
Note: CISCO IPSec can be achieved via StrongSwan and a lot of configuration, but it's tricky. PPTP is not secure anymore. ANd L2TP over IPSec requires both L2TP and IPSec configuration. Pick at your leisure, although my answer explains PPTP — Thomas Ward ♦Jun 3 '15 at 16:38
PPTP isn't secure, so what's the alternative then ? Is ssh tunneling a good alternative ?
Am using Ubuntu14.04. Server Backup will take place every week. But will this affect the crontab? Because "sudo crontab -e" does not contain the cron job which I gave. Please help!

Yesterday I went past one of the central train stations and tourist areas in Berlin and there was a black guy holding up a large sign that said "Nazi = Nationalism + Zionism". Now I'm confused.
He's either implying that Zionists were complicit in the (attempted) extermination of Jews during the Holocaust or he's implying that they were complicit in a conspiracy to make people believe there was a Holocaust when there wasn't.
Germany before 1941 made agreements for Jews to return to Israel and paid for it. "The Transfer Agreement" it was called. The British are the ones that divided Palestine into two states.
basically what makes you a zionist: being a jew and firmly believe the creation of a jewish homeland. So it is "nationilism" but without actually having said country to be nationalistic of.
At some point people just started to mean something different when they sang it. In that sense I'm glad it's not part of Germany's national anthem any longer.
The only good national anthem is the dutch. It is the oldest and tells about the relationships with other countries. Not about being the best there is. Or about eradicating others
@Rinzwind Germany's national anthem is about building a nation that provides a place where all Germans can live together happily and in peace (as opposed to a bunch of culturally German fiefdoms fighting each other).
France's national anthem is about beating the asses of the armies of their invading monarchist neighbours and drown its soil in their blood.
Our anthem is all about the country (though the country wasn't in existence when it was written) and its environment. Originally it was written taking both part of the Bengal as 1.
@Anwar The lyrics of Germany's national anthem were written when the idea of "nations" was still quite young and what is now Germany was a collection of rivalling fiefdoms.
So it makes sense for both of them for similar reasons but different historical contexts.
In fact, it makes sense that national anthems will frequently turn out to be about nations that don't exist yet because they usually adopt a suitable and popular anthem once they become nations.
@terdon Sure, but there are more effective ways to communicate that meaning that would be readily available and suitable to the chosen environment, so I find your interpretation plausible but less likely.
@terdon No but I can still use logic to think about possible meanings and how I likely I find it that somebody would use a certain notation to express a particular (hypothesised) meaning.

@Rinzwind The Netherlands appear to have crazy good sushi for relatively little money. I had some almost every time I went there and it was always awesome.
The physical drawing area on my Wacom Bamboo MTE-450 pen tablet corresponds perfectly with the edges of the screen when the resolution is 1024x768. However, when I increase it to 1152x864, the tablet is still only mapped to the 1024x768 pixels in the upper left portion of the screen, so the pen r...
I usually edit wikipedia, but here at askubuntu is a little bit frustrating when I spent time, don't change author intentions, just add a screenshot or reference and the edit is rejected
@TheWanderer no I'm not. I admit looks a big edit, but it was just screenshots, description of the type of test and how to read the results. Its a pity to create a new answer just for those few things.
