Q: Hard disk usage 100 % without any read or write activity

I started a big file transfer and it's taken a long time. I checked the disk activity with nmon and it says the (NTFS) disk is being 100 % busy and read and write speeds are at zero. I used cp -r myFolder/ newLocation/ to copy the files. Is it stuck? Can I do something about it without restart...

Q: `sudo su` behaves differently between RHEL7 and Ubuntu 14.04

I am having an issue with RHEL 7. When I sudo su in RHEL 7 from a regular user neither my pwd changes to root home nor my PATH variable is altered. However doing the same on Ubuntu changes my pwd and also my PATH variable. What maybe going on here?

@Avery again, i wasn't trying to be derogatory. just saying "tabs make sense for narrower lines. if you have a longer line and need it to fit in a 40 character space then 5 space tabs are right out, and 4 space tabs are little better, so 2 space indentation makes the most sense for subroutine heavy code". so for less complex code tabs totally make sense.

I honestly don't think the view of "sissy" as a slur is widespread, at least in the US, although I am aware it is considered a slur in some communities.

For example, in this article about a sports commentator apologizing for using the word in a broadcast (washingtonblade.com/2011/06/15/… ) , "Alexandra Schauffler, a spokesperson for the Nationals, said the team had no comment on Knight’s use of the word “sissy.”" You can bet if it were widely-considered a slur, they would have had a statement on it.

@Chan-HoSuh as far as i know, it generally means either effeminate or less strong. shallower code is probably less strong in what it can do (to do bigger things it will have to get more complex eventually after all). so again, words people choose not to like to feel special.

I'm not the type to use that term simply because I don't come from that sort of background nor do I know many of those sorts of people, but I don't consider it as a slur, it more of a joking insult amongst mates normally. Not even the kinds of people who use that word that I know about use it in the way you describe as a 'slur'. To me it seems the world has gone mad in over sensitivity and I am not helping it by going along with it.
