1:39 AM
@Avery What query did you use for the network panel?

1:58 AM
Wat.
Windows Server 2012 - "we couldn't check for updates for the last 30 days".

Guys, I've a stupid question
What does "Skip All" in Nautilus copy dialog actually do ? I'm copying files from phone, some files couldn't be retrieved. so I manually click the Skip button each time. Does Skip All do the same or does it like . . . skip copying normal (actually retrivable) files ?

It is equivalent to sitting there and clicking "skip" every time the dialog appears in the future.

OK, good.
Also . . . rant incoming . . . WHY IS THIS NOT IN NAUTILUS HELP PAGES ??? GAAAAAAAA

"Nautilus help pages" - lol.

Well, whatever that F1 thingy is supposed to be . . .

2:04 AM
That's one area where Linux on the desktop has a long ways to go - documentation.

So much for the famous RTFM slogan, right ?

CLI tools are usually documented well. But graphical applications are harder to document.

True that, of course . . . But still, at least a mention of what that thingy does would be nice
Also , yay, copying of my 8 GB photos from phone are done O_o Too many food and selfie pics

Soon you won't need Nautilus for that - NitroShare will support Android => PC transfers. In fact I'm working on that right now.

Nice. I should work on my feature requests and such for the indicators.
To be honest, that whole thing with Unity loosing support was very de-motivational.

Q: Check which process has open SCTP port in Linux

sudoUsing Ubuntu Server 16. What the title says. Something on my machine has an SCTP port open, and I need to find it and kill it (without rebooting). lsof doesn't show SCTP sockets, only TCP and UDP. I'm looking through all these network utilities, and SCTP support is surprisingly scarce for such ...

gdebi wont either

4:30 AM
@Windows3.1 well, I've used gdebi. I never had any issues. maybe you can add this info to your question. it'll get more attention if you keep adding more useful information

Or barring that, a method to tell different programs to output to different speakers even if the option to use something other than default isn't in the program?

but I'm sure there is actually a better dupe for that "does not have a release file" thing
I stumbled on a good one once
but now I can't find it
I also answered one such question once

I got that

thanks so much, you are so helpful :)

@NathanOsman If you get the time, can you look at the test I'm working on for the monitor.RegisterClient function? I just pushed it to the repo and I'm having that same issue with pointers disappearing. I assume it's something to do with scope, but I can't figure it out.

@RPiAwesomeness I think I found the bug.
I think you want to change that line from:

To:
func (m *Monitor) RegisterClient(c *websockets.Client) error {
(Notice the asterisk preceding Monitor.)

Q: Kindle for PC installed via winetricks won't sync

BertI am a new user to Ubuntu 16.04 and used winetricks to install the Kindle app and it starts up just fine, Amazon makes it a little hard to register by generating a random one time new password, which I did and it seemed to be successful and Amazon verifies the existence of this new Kindle for PC ...

user136984
Why can't everyone just learn how to use Terminal though? Because it's not actually that hard, it might even be easier than figuring out the GUI in some cases or at least more convenient.

user136984
You can usually do a lot more much faster and more conveniently in the command-line that in most GUIs

@ParanoidPanda done
I agree with David.
