anyone got some bash bubble sort code?
um for array with two keys plus data elements

ew
why bubble sort
CV --> Homework
the great question
does my app have 4.44, 4.41, or 4.444 stars?

there is quick sort code posted here: stackoverflow.com/questions/7442417/… but it's too complicated for my little mind. I'm thinking bubble sort with an extra twist of falling backwards with same array record until not >.

Q: What is the best Linux distribution

Prashant KumarI have been using Ubuntu for quite a few years. I am a bug fan of Ubuntu but I also am a bit fed-up with all the bugs that comes with every upgrade. Could you please recommend me a stable Linux distribution? I've heard that CUB Linux (chromium os) is the most stable one and also it supports most ...

> I am a bug fan of Ubuntu but I also am a bit fed-up with all the bugs that comes with every upgrade.
Wut.

I am a fun of bugs
RIP that post haha

That U&L post is also posted here btw

@JacobVlijm On U+L it might be ontopic. On AU it is a waste of time >:)

@Rinzwind terdon does not agree with you about U&L :)

Of course not. It's a waste of time anywhere on SE, it's a classic "What's the best foo"
question.

Wasn't NTSC short for Never The Same Color? :D

Woohoo

All Ubunteros should work on a Windows machine every now and then only to recognize again how good our OS is. This Windows here forced me to reboot only because I switched the USB port of a device. For the records: that was in the 21st Century.

@Takkat Yeah, I actually have a separate W10 machine to test the same stuff on different environments. That one obviously runs much less hours than this one.

The Windows here runs 24/7. This only because occasional rebooting is forced anyway and then it is a real pain.

Q: Recording desktop at 60FPS?

Android DevFor several weeks now, I have been trying to find a solution to record my desktop at a solid 60FPS, and I have completely failed in my endeavor. The first thing I tried was OBS. It records at 60FPS if the screen is idle. However, if I even so much as drag a window, the recording drops to ~15FPS....

Anyone have some ideas? --^

and this will be better on SO(?) askubuntu.com/questions/908343/…
@AndroidDev sorry :X no
OH
@AndroidDev Nvidia X server settings" and disable the "allow flipping" checkbox in the "OpenGL settings". did you do that?

12:04 PM
@Rinzwind see my comment on the post
Hey @jokerdino or @terdon can you please un-delete this dupe? It was a good quality question and it has been discussed on meta many times that deleting dupes isn't a good idea because they serve as signposts. askubuntu.com/questions/908350/…

Q: YUMI Ubuntu 16.04 Stick, cannot login anymore

knowledge-seekerI used YUMI to create a bootable Linux Ubuntu 16.04 Stick... Evertything was fine, until recently. @Zanna Probably not, but what are we going to do? Selectively delete some of them?

yes

1:57 PM
How will we go about deciding which are worthy of deletion and which aren't?

@AndroidDev no need for that, but actively undeleting posts deleted by their owners is not necessary either, imho

@terdon askubuntu.com/questions/908358/webmin-mysql-error-message users does not like my edit >:)

Q: Touchpad extremely laggy/doesn't work when the laptop is charging 🔋 (not a hardware problem)

Mii NameUsing the Touchpad to move the mouse is extremely laggy/doesn't work when the laptop is charging: This problem appeared only very recently, so the possibility that it is a hardware problem (due to the charging cable) is disregarded. I tried the answers mentioned here and here, such as adding ...

you can add images to titles?

@Rinzwind Just use the images in the font askubuntu.com/a/899126/72216

can an upgrade delete cups? :P

Cups or dishes?

@Rinzwind The OP has a point though. The edit was fine, but the lack of explanation is understandably confusing.

Q: What is a better practice for writing commands?

Sumeet DeshmukhI want to know what is the best way to write and highlight a command? many people (with a lot more reputation) write it like this $ sudo apt-get update if someone copies this command as it is, it wont work (most people do, cause I remember I did at one point) some people write it like this...

:) I am obviously having a few days off.

At least now I can report them because I previously waiting to see if they went with the upgrade.

I hope so!

We are aware of him doing this. I'm sure mods are much more aware of it :/

Q: Formal policy on duplicate/similar answers for similar questions on Ask Ubuntu?

heynnemaI've been taking some flak recently for posting duplicate/similar answers to questions that are similar, rather than noting that a duplicate answer may exist, and vtc. I've reviewed some of the 642 posts here regarding this subject, and I'm not sure that I found anything other than complex opini...

@terdon Ah, yes!

4:49 PM
Noise:content ratio... exactly, and that is exactly why we do not need 62 dupes of the nvidia bug question

^ this

5:07 PM
@Zanna They don't hurt though. And I'd argue that each of the dupes is helpful since you can't know what wording will land someone on the site so which dupe will be the one they see first.

Hi @all!
@SmokeDetector pretty!
I'm looking to reopen askubuntu.com/questions/907130/… because OP gained further insight into why the premise of the question is wrong (see their self-answer in this rolled-back edit).

@DavidFoerster is it answerable?
Is it useful?

@Zanna: I think so. I asked OP to provide a screenshot and answer their own question which amounts to "that's exactly how it's supposed to be; my expectations were out of place."

5:55 PM
Ok, voted :) thanks

me too, if it counts :D

Q: Are these clouds being engineered or is this normal?

Paranoid PandaI recently came across an ATM machine which had a sign on it telling me to go to a website called http://www.look-up.org.uk/ and that our weather was being engineered.
