See, this is what annoys me about Linux. Windows' permission system is far more powerful and customizable than Linux's.

You can use ACLs on Linux too.

Linux ACLs are still only RWX.

Windows has seperate things for create, read, edit, delete, edit permissions, change attributes, etc.

still, it's mildly annoying that linux doesn't have the same grain as Windows does sometimes.

(For example, you can create files, but not delete or edit them)

or a special folder where you can create files, but you can't see the contents of the folder

Q: How to login as another user in phpmyadmin

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 and I want to login with a host name other than localhost say "190.123.124.25" in phpmyadmin(which I got as a part of xampp), but I am unable to do so. Everytime it logs in as root by default.
