Processes @Anwar into Tofu...

there was some kind of ext4 error.

If you can (and want and it doesn't harm you :) please do write a better answer @KazWolfe

I checked messages during reboot

sure

7:01 AM
@Anwar :)

@Edity wears notofu shield

@Anwar No use. Your already tofu now
Mmm, anwartofu
Gobble... Gobble...

@Edity notofu rescuer came and broke the jail

@Anwar eradicates notofu rescuer and catched anwartofu
Seals Anwar in a unbreakable jail

@Zanna I know nothing :)

7:05 AM
BRB, SHOWER TIME.

@Anwar It was a nice request/invitation
are you still working on the npp question?
hi @andrew.46
not seen you for a while!

I've done enough. An answer was posted, but I think that's unhelpful.

@Zanna How are you?

I can view bengali at least, but no telegu. don't know why?

@andrew.46 very well thank you! and yourself

7:09 AM
Long day at work but good :)

@Anwar yeah I saw, I was keeping it open waiting for your answer...

oh.
@KazWolfe excellect! and Thanks :)

@Anwar hmm... what about other scripts?
many thanks @KazWolfe :)

:D

it's still block characters. looking for fonts which actually works with telegu
a Revival badge for you

I marked added answer and archived the card

parsing html with regex?

^beautiful. what does it say?

no, reading from the Forum Necronomicon again.
every forum mod has a copy :D

that just says Trump sucks in demonic

7:15 AM
no, that's easier.
like, a lot easier
do you want me to translate it?

also, anybody want an extra rep ? remember that filesystem usage indicator ? well, there's another indicator that has been created, it's on omgubuntu. Feel free to take advantage of it and post an answer

but i already gave a bounty to you for it

feeling lazy

Not my indicator

wait...bounty question?

7:18 AM
haha

I don't like to get rep for others' work

@Anwar lol

@Anwar motivated all of a sudden ?

that got your attention fast

that cracked me up

7:19 AM
@Serg yeah :)

no, the indicator is by another dev, it's written in vala, and was reviewed on omgubuntu
also, yay, i got my -1 back from 2 year old spam answer

(seriously, i'm fluent in both New Satanic and Old Satanic so... i can translate)

@Serg haha awesome

ok, I'm off to bed. Tomorrow there's exam, so . . . keep the fingers crossed for me guys

I keep trying to get my rep to be a round number by giving one downvote, but they keep coming back ^_^ better do something else to change it...
@Serg best of luck!

7:21 AM
@Zanna downvote one of my answers
it won't disappear any time soon.

@KazWolfe nah I don't think they deserve it

but you'll make this wolf sad so.....
you can accept answers and get strategic upvotes

it has to be a judicious downvote
I can also do tag wiki edits... gonna do that
If I get 4 points that would fix it

i'll go wait in the review board

don't look at reps too much ... lol

7:23 AM
downvotes dont make me sad anymore, just curious why

don't even want to know 'why' :)

@Anwar hahaha yeah I stopped looking much a while ago really, just laughing how that +1 keeps coming :) I want to edit tag wikis anyway
also I like to go and nuke the random new tags...

gah, i keep forgetting i don't have a good voice ;-;

I downloaded a new telegu font but still blocks in npp!!

but i want to do covers of songs ;-;

7:27 AM
@Anwar I wonder if it helps to install language and generate a locale for it :S

hmm. but kaz can view it in npp

Aaaand the updates to my udisks-indicator are there, now you can unmount stuff
and on that glorious note, bye

yeah. It's working
but the answer is totally about using npp!

what's working?

back

7:35 AM
telegu font in npp
@Edity now go back :)

oh what did you do?

nothing. I thought the string i was inputting was not proper phonetic. used another option and it works. Or May be it's because I changed the font and restart the npp.
Let me retest
first one

@Anwar .......
Goodnight everyone
shutdown -h now

@Edity night

holy crap a good mic makes so much difference for recording

7:48 AM
what are you recording?

just voice samples
working on some voice acting for a couple pet projects

oh.

@Anwar seen your answer now!

8:01 AM
@NathanOsman bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=650371#c57 O The only sensible comment in the whole thread up to there

2 hours later…
9:52 AM
worst day to have insomnia

also mobile ui completely bugged out

maybe mods can forward this to site devs ?

@Serg They'll just ask us to post a bug report on meta.

k ....
:33135489
why i could not write just now ?
what, the whole mobile SE is buggy now ?
also, bug report is on meta
wait, i think it's chrome problem

Q: Mobile site UI buggy

Serg Basically the text of top menu and tags is outside its supposed placement. Browser: chrome Device: OnePlus Two

Isn't that more for MSE than AU meta?

@Zanna Could be but the SE devs check child metas with and some others.

Holy big image batman.

@Serg that's 1 big ass pixs :P

@Serg I fixed that for you

10:18 AM
terdy! :=)

m is too small. Use ell

Pro tip for those unaware of it: you can add an m, l or s to the end of an imgur image (just before the extension so that foo.png becomes foom.png) to get medium, large and small image sizes respectively.
3
@jokerdino Fair enough. Done

Thanks.

Why do we have both and ? Should we just delete or is there some distinction I'm missing?

bug-reports is about the bugs that get asked in the main site.

10:22 AM
a bug is not a bug-report :=D
and a bug-report contains a bug

@jokerdino Ah!
OK, so I'll remove that one from Serg's, uhm, report.

LOL
3 people here did not spot the obvious answer: askubuntu.com/questions/840878/… :P
hey that was not an invite to upvote :(

@Rinzwind To bad. You still got one!

<3
you all must hate Oli :D :D

i think chrome devs screwed something up
other sites are distorted for me too
@terdon thanks for edits and tips

10:42 AM
np

even reboot didn't help . . .

10:56 AM
Brr it's cold
Kind of wish my phone still had TouchWiz so I could use it as a heater

@terdon ah thanks :) That's good to know

@ParanoidPanda :) :) :)

11:17 AM
@terdon eeeeeeeevilllllll

>:)

It's -1 here :(

@Zacharee1 I'd ask if you mean C or F but either way, that's way too cold for October!
Poor you!

Assume C
My phone's in Spanish and AccuWeather is in Celsius

@Zacharee1 Menos mal.

11:22 AM
@terdon sí, pero no es bueno

No. That's still bloody freezing. Worse, even! What do you get in January then? -20?

This is really cold
Last December it was like 18.
Carried through to Jan and Feb

Back to work: lunch break over.

11:47 AM
who is the regex/sed expert?
I want this ->
added in front of this
<table:named-expressions/>

12:07 PM
you want arrow in front ?
sed 's/^
<table:named-expressions\/>/->
<table:named-expressions\/>/g'
typed out on mobile so probably incorrect

12:25 PM
@Rinzwind sed 's#<table:named-expressions/>#->&#'
use a different separator so you don't need to escape /

<table:table-row table:style-name="ro1">
<table:table-cell office:value-type="string" calcext:value-type="string"><text:p>a2a2a2</text:p>
</table:table-cell><table:table-cell office:value-type="string" calcext:value-type="string">
<text:p>b2b2b2</text:p>
</table:table-cell></table:table-row>
@Serg it was waiting for a retry :X
@Zanna retry it >:-)
Trying this now ->
sed 's#<table:named-expressions/>#<table:table-row table:style-name="ro1"><table:table-cell office:value-type="string" calcext:value-type="string"><text:p>a2a2a2</text:p></table:table-cell><table:table-cell office:value-type="string" calcext:value-type="string"><text:p>b2b2b2</text:p></table:table-cell></table:table-row>&#'
what is the &? @Zanna

the & is the pattern that was matched before
replace with itself
I only added ->, apart from that you want the pattern from the search

it does get added to the file
but the ods when zipped does not show it when opend :(
darn it
YES GOT IT

12:46 PM
oh it's that question... wow I didn't think that was gonna be possible... awesome...

hehehehe
I bet it wont attract that many upvotes compared to the time spent on it

1:01 PM
@Rinzwind there you go...

<3

@Rinzwind next time, just do sed '/<table:named-expressions\/>/s/^/->/
That's /foo/s/foo/bar/ so, "substitute foo with bar on lines matching foo"

aha find this line and substitute start-of-line with thing-you-want-to-prepend... but I didn't know what he wanted to match was at the start of the line

@terdon reread the q... I did not want a > ... I want thatwhole text underneath

> who is the regex/sed expert?
I want this ->
added in front of this
<table:named-expressions/>
That's what I was answering.

1:15 PM
@terdon in my screen there is a shitload of xml in between ;-)

But my approach assumes that the target string is at the beginning of the line.

--->>> sed 's#</table:table><table:named-expressions/>#<table:table-row table:style-name="ro1"><table:table-cell office:value-type="string" calcext:value-type="string"><text:p>a3a3a3</text:p></table:table-cell><table:tab‌le-cell office:value-type="string" calcext:value-type="string"><text:p>b3b3b3</text:p></table:table-cell></table:ta‌ble-row>&#' content.xml > content2.xml
is what it needed to be:D
the xml I posted in the q got mangled :X

Ah!
If I were you, I'd use variables to make it more readable:
$ cat file
</table:table><table:named-expressions/>
$ from="</table:table><table:named-expressions/>"
$ to="<table:table-row table:style-name="ro1"><table:table-cell office:value-type="string" calcext:value-type="string"><text:p>a3a3a3</text:p></table:table-cell><table:tab‌le-cell office:value-type="string" calcext:value-type="string"><text:p>b3b3b3</text:p></table:table-cell></table:ta‌ble-row>"
$ sed "s#$from#$to$from#" file
<table:table-row table:style-name=ro1><table:table-cell office:value-type=string calcext:value-type=string><text:p>a3a3a3</text:p></table:table-cell><table:tab‌le-

nice :)
does it error out when there is a # in the strings? :X
and how does this not error out on the "'s in the "to" string?
@terdon ^^

@Rinzwind Yes, I expect so.

1:28 PM
hmm I've been quoting my variables in sed like 's/'"$old"'/'"$new"'/'

@Rinzwind Probably because they are just around simple strings, so it doesn't matter that they end up unquoted.

ok

@Zanna Yeah, that will work too.

Ill trust you on that @terdon >:)

but you saved me a lot of keystrokes there @terdon if it's safe lol

1:29 PM
lol
Wear and tear of a keyboard is an issue? @Zanna

haha no, just laziness

There

Q: Edit Libreoffice-Files from Command Line

Chris SaginedI want to add lines to a libreoffice calc table from command line. But I have no idea how. I just figured out how to start libreoffice from command line. For example what iam looking for: -The test.ods-file before Name Text Hans Bla Christian BlaBlub I enter... ubuntu> [a command...

I mentioned Terdon :=D
I hate it when the Q gets more upvoted then me and the answer works :(

:)

hi

hi Anwar :)

1:37 PM
i hate Mondays and Wednesdays

\o

okay question...

@Serg sushidays are the best days
2

yep

Maybe it's because I answered the question. But I can't see how this q is POB

1:37 PM
So I have a camera hooked up to a pi, and it streams to the interwebs...

@Serg why?

but it is only actually uploading data when being requested by a client, correct?

@Anwar i cant get any good sleep on those days. Last Monday i had 1 hour of sleep. Well guess how much i got tonight ? same

but first, why is chat sound not working here?
@Serg hmm... have you found any reason behind this?

some goofball is messing around with opening issues and pull requests on Linus's GitHub. He doesn't know commits to GitHub don't get merged into kernel, ever
@Anwar no. Just general insomnia
and i have exam in control systems today
i am so pissed

1:44 PM
Oh. try to be disconnected from outside world for a while. It might help.

Q: Security Camera Data Usage

TheXedSo I have set up a webcam with https://kerberos.io/, on my Rpi due to some recent vandalism and opened up the appropriate ports to view my camera while away from home. I know there are other things that affect the bandwidth usage such as amounts of activity and resolution and a few other things....

If anyone wants some easy points...

being disconnected probably will drive me even more crazy.

ha ha.

what i really need is different schedule. Or a vacation. or both

a vacation i think.
trying to restore old kde4 oxygen look and feel in kde5

1:53 PM
@Serg I tried to give you different living quarters...but you wouldn't take me up on the offer...

@TheXed like i said, ain't got money to move

Lame...

I just got +20 on a Jan 22 answer about visual fatigue
so confused until I saw the NAA from an hour ago
still a little confused though

@Zacharee1 does chrome on mobile freak out for you as well or is it just me ? started after update

Restored almost all, except the panel

1:55 PM
@Serg I use the app. Lemme check

Anyone watching the Windows 10 event today?

where am I looking @Serg

@Zacharee1 just the main site
or meta

but what's wrong

2
Q: Mobile site UI buggy

Serg Basically the text of top menu and tags is outside its supposed placement. Browser: Chrome Device: OnePlus Two Issue seems specific to Chrome, as Firefox displays the site normally.

see screenshot

1:57 PM
your DPI is wayyyyyy up
that's the issue

it's perfectly fine in Firefox
and it was ok before

Firefox might adjust padding on sites

and i don't recall changing any dpi settings in chrome. more less, I've no clue where they are

No, the phone itself has a high DPI setting
elements are huge

that makes no sense
i didn't change any DPI settings
and i didn't upgrade the system yet. only Chrome got update

2:01 PM
Is it possible that installing bluetooth driver would solve problems with bluetooth in Ubuntu?

Yes

@Anwar how can someone answer no to that? >:-D

ah. I missed an essential word there

:D

read it as installing bluetooth driver in Windows...

2:08 PM
and the answer to that addendum is: no

Yes, I have had it happen to me once.

^ I think same

If a windows driver fixes an ubuntu problem the problem is in the BIOS and the fix would be changing that setting in BIOS

Bluetooth drivers may include firmware updates/patches

but then the fix is NOT the driver ;-)
then the fix is a firmware update.

2:10 PM
yes.

and you can update the firmware without the driver I'd assume ;-)

Yes again.

>:)

But you might not get the firmware updates runnable in Ubuntu/Linux

so I still claim "No" @jokerdino >:)
@Anwar the general idea of updating firmware is to use freedos when using Linux

2:12 PM
Actually I'm trying to see if this answer is valid or not askubuntu.com/a/371325/61218

@Rinzwind :(

LOL
if he claims it worked ..... :X
I doubt it though :P
more likely: a software lock from BIOS that got reset with the update of the driver. and now ubuntu works
hmmmm now I got a problem

what was that?

@Anwar well now I am heading towards a "yes" with that comment and I dont want jokerdino to realize that >:)

ha ha
Thanks @both of you

2:27 PM
windows driver for bluetooth works for folks with my device too... unless I missed the point here...

hehehehehe ->
~$ sudo
The program 'sudo' can be found in the following packages:
* sudo
* sudo-ldap
Try: sudo apt-get install <selected package>
The irony D:

hmmm 3D for everyone :-)

@Rinzwind never noticed!

@Anwar you can remove sudo ... but you need sudo to install sudo >:)

2:44 PM
I'm in an infinite loop now!

I'm starting a nameserver migration soon; does anyone have a good video, book, online explanation about everything DNS, NS, Internet?!

What is ChrUbuntu?

@Anwar counterpart of Satanic Ubuntu
:P

an ubuntu based distro?

chromebook ubuntu

2:54 PM
or some scripts to help install ubuntu on Chromebook?

@jokerdino - Why can't I flag an answer as VLQ anymore?

@jokerdino a full-fledged distro or helper scripts only?

@Anwar helper I think.. look up crouton
@AndroidDev because they are too old?

tsk 12.04
4 year old OS's are ancient :P

3:00 PM
@jokerdino So you can't flag old answers as link-only?

No

So, no one? :/

@Anwar O_o why?
@blade19899 Wikipedia?

@AndroidDev Because SE stuff decided that as such. I don't support that idea though

@AndroidDev if it's link only it is NAA

3:04 PM
@Zanna Well I tried that with an answer, and it was declined with the "flags shouldn't be used to indicate technical inaccuracies"

@AndroidDev Was it really link only? Or just wrong?

never heard of MigrateWubi. what was that?

@AndroidDev ah, tricky one... presumably the link is the actual thing you download...

yes. in that case it's not link only

3:10 PM
@Anwar David Foerster thought it was

Then he wronged there I'd say. One cannot include a package in their answer...

Can anybody else chime in here?

Q: Mint "tag warning" proposal

Android DevI propose that we create a "tag warning" for mint, because it seems like we are getting a lot of OT questions about Mint. Now you say, this is a dupe! Well yes, sorta, but nothing came out of it. Sooooo.... can we please look at this again?

3:40 PM
Hmmm, cisco router fun . . . except one of the neighbors isn't working for some reason

3:51 PM
we can see the reviewers name who voted to delete now askubuntu.com/questions/389696/…
This is new i think

4:02 PM
@Anwar oh... I noticed it but didn't know it was new

4:30 PM
such a bother.....so many good questions yet I've no time or energy to do those
duck

4:42 PM
I can't find them...
But hard to answer on mobile :)

Hello everybody ! :)

good afternoon!
