Q: Linux kernel version suffix + CONFIG_LOCALVERSION

On system start up I currently see Linux 4.0.0-rc6yy and 4.0.0-rc6yy.old from the bootloader menu. I'm not certain where they came from. I suspect "yy" is arbitrary but can someone explain the ".old" suffix? Also can someone explain what CONFIG_LOCALVERSION and CONFIG_LOCALVERSION_AUTO is from ....

@Mateo According to the avast-plugin, the site is at least not full with malware. Google also finds it. I think it is a valid site, but no idea whether it is better or not. You should be able to visit it without danger...

@Fabby Hi Fabby! I just finished a Win7 fresh install and update marathon... I started it on 21:15 yesterday and finished this morning at about 11:00... It started to hang some time around 02:00 and did not continue until I restarted 3 times this morning... :P Now I know why I love my unicorn!

@Toroidal yeah, colors aren't wallpapers - so you would need to make a flat color wallpaper then do what he said

@Mateo: What package would be best to write to on LaunchPad about suggesting that it would be good for the gradient or colour that you choose which is not a file but just code to be also somehow set as the login wallpaper? As I would like to do that but not sure which package it would be... :)

Or they just don't care about launchpad. It's not an Ubuntu app after all. The file-roller home page lists the newer ones:

I had a question.AFAIK openstack, juju etc are the softwares used in cloud computing sector and not the platforms themselves. on the other hand AWS is a platform. For about a hour I'm looking for a list of open source softwares like openstack, but all I come up with are platforms.
