MOBA's are very easy to get into, but insanely hard to master...which I think is a good thing
I tried Quake Live for about 30 secs and decided I didn't want to keep losing long enough to get any good at it, so I quit
I'll agree about RPG's, though. most of them are gated by time and/or rng, not skill.
well, MMORPG raids can take some skill, but most of that is just a few people trying their best to make up for all the idiot freeloaders in the party
aaaand now I want to play LoL again
I wonder if I can play it for more than a day without getting pissed again...

is everyone missing my point? :(

I just wanted to point @AidanMueller's comment about people not being determined enough is silly. People still are willing to put time in learning to play all mobas and RTS games well

I'm more saying that you're both right, in a way. Q3 looks like a game that I wouldn't be able to touch without a big time investment.
LoL on the other hand isn't casual, but I don't have to be pro either
I can be pro if I did put that time into it, but I don't have to be

@Lasse I didn't miss your point.

11:17 PM
thank you

:)

And the answer to my original question "why don't they make games like that any more" is that people don't want to play them. Maybe I should ask why people don't want to play them and fix that and make millions
I guess titanfall is the closest thing to it today, but somehow it still fails to amuse me

:D

11:32 PM
oh I almost forgot about loadout
I haven't played that
it looks like something I'd like to try
but that's clearly not made to replace quake, more like tf2

titanfall looked great, but I heard it didn't have anywhere near enough to do, and then I heard they removed game modes instead of adding things to the game

11:51 PM
for (int i < 5) Console.WriteLine("Hello ", i);

is that valid in some language

yes, mine

okay

Is it obvious what it does?

it's obvious, at least because of my experience with other languages. it's not obvious how I would make it count from 4 to 0 instead, though...

11:56 PM
well yeah it's obvious

@JohnMcDonald I haven't tried it yet. Not sure how you'd be able to watch though. :P Except if I record/stream

it's obvious only because I know what a for loop does in general

@IcyDefiance It's not quite as pretty, but close, something like: i = 4; for (i >= 0) DoStuff.exe();

@William'MindWorX'Mariager Do you have an Android or Windows phone? (I can't remember, but I'm sure you mentioned at one point)

11:58 PM
I debated something like for (int i = 4 <= 0) ... but I thought it felt too sketchy

@JohnMcDonald Windows Phone :)
