The only attack I made was to hint that I thought the arguments you were making were poor. I'll try to be more direct and definitely wish to avoid ad hominem arguments.
@FreshPrinceOfSO That a mind may not exist without a brain does not require that the mind consists of the brain per se.
@FreshPrinceOfSO If the mind is not equivalent to the brain, then it follows that the brain by itself cannot fully explain the mind, because for the mind to be different it must have some aspect or characteristic apart from those the brain possess.
@FreshPrinceOfSO Let's say we are considering a slide projector. True, the image projected on the screen is not the projector itself, but we can explain that the image consists entirely of light produced from within the projector's illuminating element, minus the interfering slide's light absorption. So the projector fully explains the image.
Is the mind merely a manifestation or emanation of the brain in a similar way?
@MarkStorey-Smith I find that a very strange position to take. I've said nothing about my personal beliefs about prayer, just that it could help some people (without actually being effectual in the sense of being answered) by it comforting them through said delusion. How can that possibly be construed as preaching? Do you disagree with it, and thus I am trying to convert you?
@MarkStorey-Smith I do wish to respect the community's standards for content welcome here. I was keeping it very logical. I'm very disappointed that you'd call it preaching. But to avoid risking anyone being offended, I'll stop discussing this now.
I've been trying to find the definite phrase...was it "How Bout Them Cowboys?"
I'm not good with memes
@SimonRigharts Not a soccer fan, sorry - so I have no clue how to continue that.
And...
I once had a Halloween attack my server. It was gruesome! Definitely important to have Halloween protection, I can say from personal experience! — ErikE2 hours ago
