@Jay did you report that jagged piece of metal? It sounds like a hazard. The local municipality is probably the right place to report it to. And unlike in India, if you report it, they will normally fix it.
I think trying to force it into a single word is an easy way to get nuances wrong, no matter how hard you try.
If you explain your reasons a little more verbosely to someone reasonable and willing to listen, you can figure out what the actual reasons you want to say are, then you can try and condense those down into a couple phrases?
But I can't figure out the word that I want to tell. That's why I'm here to find it out. Help me
Hey @Cindy
"I don't have a proper scientific reason for it. As a principal in my life, I'm alcohol free." that's how if anyone come and ask this question from me. But I would like to know your response for this question
I don't drink partly because it's not good for you, partly because I hate idiotic drunks, and partly because I am a stubborn fuck and I've said I won't do it.
@ElendilTheTall No, but there's something I want your opinion on. Since I hadn't heard from the hiring manager I had thought about touching base with the recruiter today. However, this morning when I went to the job posting, it was closed and the same position had been posted again. Typically when this happens a new req # is generated for the position. Should I apply again or give the recruiter a call?
Update - Hubby does have a blood clot in the vein. They were concerned that it might be the artery but fortunately it's not. Still very painful, though.
(because things along the lines of "I have rules" are not really much of an answer, obviously you have a rule in this case, the question is why, and so people will tend to ask "why do you have this rule?")
@Jefromi you could just say you don't enjoy it. Though if you have never tried, that cannot be strictly true. But that's at least partly true in my case.
E.g. beer. Dehydrates my mouth and leaves an unpleasant aftertaste. And I don't like the taste much either.
And hard liquor burns my mouth.
Well, the last time was my upper lip, to be precise.
Alchohol always struck me as stuff that was more suitable for use as paint remover than as something to ingest.
@ElendilTheTall @Jay I spoke to the recruiter and she was very receptive to my call. She reposted the position to keep it fresh and more noticeable. (She said the job board repositions them further down the list as time progresses.) Re the hiring manager, she said not to worry, to just give it a little more time as they were quite busy. So, she didn't view it as unusual or negative that I haven't received a call yet. :) Fingers still crossed!
Bonus is that I also had the opportunity to thank her for the call earlier this week.
@Jay So true. Somehow I've managed to keep a positive attitude. But it's coming up on 10 months, now. So I have worried about bills. But no sense in dwelling on it. That only makes things worse.
