2:32 AM
@Jay You should probably report that piece of metal. If possible.

6 hours later…
8:03 AM
morning all

8:14 AM
don't all clamour at once

2 hours later…
10:13 AM
@Arrowfar hello

user116848
@ElendilTheTall Hello!

user116848
How are you?

fine thanks, you?

user116848
I am fine, thanks!

user116848
It is quiet here today.

10:16 AM
no news is good news

user116848
Yeah, heh.

what time is it there?

user116848
It is 3:17 PM here.

user116848
And there?

11:17
only a 4 hour difference, I would have thought it was more
I forget, what do you do?
work/college?

user116848
10:19 AM
I work/study in accountancy field.

user116848
And you?

user116848
A programmer I am guessing, right?

@ElendilTheTall Yo Tallboy! c-dizzle here! ;)
Hi @Arrowfar.
Well, since no one seems to still be here, I'll get breakfast and come back. :)

user116848
10:40 AM
Hello @Cindy!

@Cindy sup baby
@Arrowfar nope
:D

user116848
So, I think this is a cool place because everyone talks so freely here :)

user116848
We have been getting rain lately so the weather here is kinda awesome. Which happens rarely.

user116848
Most of the time the weather here is hot and humid.

user116848
Which sucks bad.

10:46 AM
yes indeed
out of interest, what do you mean by 'talks freely'?

user116848
@ElendilTheTall I meant it doesn't look very formal here. And I was reading the star wall :)

have you been in many formal internet chat rooms?
:)

user116848
Naah.

user116848
@ElendilTheTall Well ELL chat is quite different unlike ELU or here.

i think the difference here is that we try to be welcoming to newcomers. In many SE chatrooms, you drop in, say hi, and will be completely ignored while the regulars chat on around you
here, we see a new avatar drop in and pounce :)

user116848
10:52 AM
@ElendilTheTall Yeah exactly.

soooo
here we are
<tumbleweed drifts past>

11:18 AM
@Arrowfar Sometime you'd get the feeling that @ElendilTheTall lives in the old West, or at any rate somewhere in prarie country. But he doesn't, really. Or so he says, at any rate.

user116848
heh!

user116848
Hi @FaheemMitha!

11:42 AM
@Arrowfar Hi.

11:54 AM
@FaheemMitha because tumbleweeds?

12:34 PM
@ElendilTheTall I guess so.

what other cues are there?
my propensity for using the phrase 'gosh durn'?

@ElendilTheTall Sometimes you sound a bit "Western".
Well, off to the gym.

why, thank you kindly, mister
you go on and have a real good time at that there gymnasium of yers

@ElendilTheTall Unlikely. Gyms are boring.

I wholeheartedly agree

12:38 PM
But today is apparently "call people who don't pick up their phones" day. So a gym probably beats that.

you should play kabaddi or something instead

Someone once upon a time decreed that India be a voice mail free zone. For reasons that are unclear to me. So you can't even leave a message.
@ElendilTheTall Ugh, no. Though I'm impressed you know what kabaddi is.

@FaheemMitha I am fairly swollen with pride

@ElendilTheTall That's nice.

if monty python invented a sport, it would be kabaddi
@Jolenealaska hello sweetheart

user116848
12:47 PM
@ElendilTheTall So in sports I like to watch parkour I don't know why? Maybe it is the movement.

user116848
Some say it is not a sport.

oh yes, very athletic

user116848
Yes it is.

user116848
Whoa, I got -10 on ELL because a user was removed.

user116848
Well it is not that bad I guess. Only 1 vote.

user116848
12:49 PM
I once got +2 because a user was removed.

user116848
This is insane!

oh, crazy

@ElendilTheTall Hi baby what's the correct name of @? I call it an at sign, but Dragon doesn't recognize that.

it's technically called a commercial at
perhaps 'at-symbol'?

@Arrowfar that happens occasionally, but not often. Usually it's people who haven't been around very long, so nobody loses a whole lot of rep. If the person has voted a lot, the overlords have some way that they fix it so that users who are still here don't lose boatloads of rep.

1:01 PM
how was the dentist?

@ElendilTheTall Nope, those don't work either. I'll figure it out.

user116848
I see. And hello @Jolenealaska!

@Jolenealaska or you could, you know, ask Google... nuance.com/naturallyspeaking/customer-portal/documentation/…
according to that it's 'at sign'
R.T.F.M. :P
@cindy Vitamin C in the hizzouse!

The dentist appointment was fine, I had taken (as prescribed) a fairly high dose of Halcion the night before, so I slept hard. I remember cracking a few jokes while the dentist set the IV, then not much.

@ElendilTheTall LOL. What a day already!
@Jolenealaska Hi. Does Dragon recognize @ as a copyright symbol?
Hi @rumtscho.

1:07 PM
hi @Cindy

"I'll figure it out" kind of meant that reading the manual was the next step. Apparently the way I say "at sign" sounded to Dragon like assign. But I trained it, just like a good Dragon owner should. @@@@

@Jolenealaska how much did a Dragon cost?

Apparently I got another crown, so now I have two.

I'm still in two minds about getting it for my dissertation
@Jolenealaska if you continue this way, soon you'll have more crowns than the Queen of England!

@rumtscho I got Dragon Premium 13, which is a step below their professional version. It cost $150.
@rumtscho I'm just really, really pleased that I have found this dentist.

1:10 PM
Grr, I hate being so indecisive. That's the kind of money which I'll hate having spent for nothing. But the expected return on investment, if it works, is juicy.

He completely understands my feeling about not wanting to be there, but wanting to keep my teeth.
@rumtscho are you writing your dissertation in English?

@Jolenealaska yup, great dentists (and other doctors) are a rare catch. I'm glad you found yours
@Jolenealaska yes, I am

Almost forgot - HAPPY INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP DAY!

but while my spoken English is grammatical, I'm skeptical about a software being able to understand my Denglish pronounced with heavy Slavic accent
and then there's the part where I'm a bit hyperlexic, so I express myself easier in writing than in talking
I can (and do!) talk a lot, but the text is not as nicely structured afterwards

@rumtscho in that case, I completely recommend Dragon. I also recommend that you bring it here first thing and let me help you get through the initial learning curve. Learning Dragon is a different process of learning than any I have ever experienced.
@rumtscho the first thing you're going to want to do even before you dictate to it is read to it. There are 20 or so passages of different kinds of texts, about 20 minutes each, installed in the program.

1:15 PM
then there's the part where I can't use it on my primary computer, but I'll be able to work around that if the rest of using it goes well
@Jolenealaska can your Dragon have a second user profile?

It handles accents quite well.

yours is already trained for you

Yes you can have as many user profiles as you want.

but it could help if I could send you an audio recording and you can return the result it recognized

But it is very important that the same person always uses the same profile, somebody could really screw up yours I using yours.
We can certainly do that, but it would be better if you could read a few texts to it first (which I can also do with a recording)

1:17 PM
@ElendilTheTall Updates - Hubby is in the ER this am. :( No phone call yet.. :( Had reindeer for the first time for Monday night's dinner. :)

@Cindy oh no! What happened to him?

the program has feature built-in specifically for transcribing recordings.

@Jolenealaska what would be the easiest way for me to find out how good Dragon works for me, if we make a profile on your installation? I don't want to cause you too much work.

@rumtscho that would not be too much work at all, it actually would probably help me.

If it has preset texts I need to read to it for training, I can record these

1:21 PM
I can email you some passages for you to read and you send them back to me in the clearest possible format.
brb

I'd be interested to make a "real test" too, in the sense that I record myself trying to compose a section of my thesis

@rumtscho He went to urgent care this morning because he had a painful place on his leg. On the inside, right at his knee with a good size "knot". He thought he had pulled something but since it had been there a few days I told him he needed to get it checked. The doctor thinks it's a blood clot and sent him over to ER.

@Cindy I'll keep my fingers crossed for a good outcome, and not too much stress in the ER. These hospitals can be really draining :(

@Cindy eek

@rumtscho Thanks. Good thoughts and crossed fingers are always appreciated. :)

1:25 PM
I am sending good fingers and crossed thoughts

@ElendilTheTall That works, too!

@rumtscho Since Dragon is going to need to learn your accent, I'd recommend that you do at least three readings before you start trying to dictate your own text. Dragon works best when you talk very clearly and consistently. When I'm writing creatively I tend to use a lot of expression. By reading to Dragon things like Alice in Wonderland, Dragon has gotten better at understanding me even if I'm being expressive

@rumtscho Dragon has a 30 day money back guarantee, you could try it first

rright now I'm "typing" right into the the message box on the chat page. Not all of the features are available, and it makes far more mistakes for some reason. I can open the dictation box which is pretty much like opening up a window in Windows, and then Dragon works perfectly but takes an extra few commands because I have to transfer the text.
yes, you could do a little test through me to see if you even want to do the 30 day trial, and then you have 30 days to decide whether or not to keep it.
Your choice of texts are:
each one is roughly 20 minutes.
you don't say the punctuation while you read, but you do say the punctuation while you dictate.

yes, that's what I wanted to ask
if I want to dictate LaTeX, can I dictate the symbols?

1:33 PM
The key is that you speak in phrases. Dragon is pretty good at choosing the right homophone if it has context, but he only understands context between pauses.

what will happen if I want to say
> disconfirmation was found to be the most important antecedent of satisfaction~\cite{Oliver2010a}

you can specifically teach it to type antidisestablishmentarianism every time you say peach.

the above is one of the harder examples I can think of

All of the punctuation you used //\ }} is punctuation that Dragon understands. What is ~ called?

I'm off for a bit. See you guys in a little while. :)

1:36 PM
I call it a tilda. This might be the name from another language though, not English
and the whitespace is important to be correct around the punctuation in this case
@Jolenealaska can you send me the Alice in Wonderland text to try a recording? I hope the built in program for sound recording in Windows will suffice.

~~\\,:; ()//
disconfirmation was found to be the most important antecedent of satisfaction ~\cite\{Oliver2010a}

this looks good!

using the dictation box, I did all of that without touching the keyboard
obviously the program works a lot better using the dictation box then being lazy and just using the message box in chat
I will certainly send you the Alice in Wonderland text. You will enjoy it, it's when she goes down the rabbit hole.
It also wouldn't hurt for you to take a look at the manual, workbook and other stuff. I'll send links to those along with Alice in Wonderland.

Tilde

I have another thing that I have got to get accomplished today, preferably before business opens in three hours. Since sending you the Dragon stuff will be more fun than that, I'll send you the Dragon stuff after I do the stuff I have to do. :)
@ElendilTheTall and what's this called }?

1:46 PM
@Jolenealaska thank you for your help! And I'm glad to hear it's fun for you.
@Jolenealaska I call it "closing curly bracket"

Jay
@Jolenealaska hey yesterday you said you needed a favor from me. Do you still need something?

{}
@Jay Yes!

what do you call ( for Dragon?

Jay
open parathesis?

open paren
close paren
()

Jay
1:47 PM
yay i was right

yes, that's what I thought @jay. I didn't know the short form.

the key is pausing before giving a command or a punctuation symbol

I hope it doesn't type "open parent"

Jay
@Jolenealaska Whatca need jooooojooooo

one of my problems is also that I don't know the pronunciation of many words I use

1:48 PM
if you say it as a part of phrase, it will type out the word.
YouTube pronounces most English words

I know the everyday words. But things like "antecedent"?

as far as medical type words,]
you could always ask here
anti-seedent

Jay
i dont even know what antecedent means

I have built up a sound in my head and have no idea if it's the correct English one or not.

accent on ee
sorry

1:49 PM
@Jay something which precedes something else

antee SEE dent

Jay
oh ok

the first e is not quite ee, not quite i, it's kind of in between.

@Jolenealaska yes, thanks. I think I had it mostly right.
yes, it would have been the first e which I would have gotten wrong
I'd have pronounced it the German way, I think. Or is it the Latin way?
With a simple E.

there's a big huge dictionary that has pronunciations that volunteers have recorded.
Google "pronounce this" and you'll probably find that talking about.

1:52 PM
@Jolenealaska I know it. But if I have to check it for each word I don't know, I'll be much quicker just typing
ah, there is an English example. I would have pronounced the first E in antecedent as the E in connect.

Also, you can train Dragon to type whatever you want it to type whenever you say a certain thing.
And it's super easy to correct, you just say "correct that"

that's interesting. Only it'll madden the perfectionist in me to teach my program "wrong" because I'm doing it wrong

iit gives you options than what it thinks you might said, or you can tell it what you said. It likes the military alphabet, if you don't know it you should learn it, ALPHA, BRAVO, CHARLIE ect

it's a bit irrational, I know
ah, I have been successfully avoiding the military alphabet for years

I understand that entirely. It is very easy to anthropomorphize Dragon and not want to embarrass yourself in front of him.

1:55 PM
does it only speak English? If it has more languages, are they included or do they have to be bought separately?

It only has English as far as I know.

@Jolenealaska actually, antromoprhizing it would make it easier. I expect people to put up with my bad pronunciation, because I can't start researching the correct one in the middle of a social conversation. It's when I'm alone with a computer that I don't want to help myself stay in the bad rut by making the computer remember my wrong pronunciation.

@Jay I have a character in my book who is very real, but he absolutely cannot be recognizable in the final draft. So I gave a lot of thought to how I could build him in such a way that my feelings and my half of the relationship remains as it really is so I can tell the story from what is truly my viewpoint.

Jay
do you mean you "changed" him for the sake of privacy and now he is unrecognizable as the person you started with?

@Jolenealaska technically it's a brace
a closing brace

1:59 PM
@rumtschoyou my guess is that you will find yourself looking words up ( for their pronunciation) any time Dragon does not understand what you say.

[] these are brackets
() these are parantheses

@ElendilTheTall {} that works too!
those I know, goofball
@Jay yes

@Jolenealaska :( that will slow down my text production a lot

@Jolenealaska I added them for completeness, dingus

Jay
dont most autobiographers only change the name?

2:00 PM
I wouldn't mind if it happens during chat

Jay
is it for personal reason you dont want people to know who you are referring to

but the problem is that during dissertation writing, I can't get myself distracted by linguistic matters every 3 sentences

@Jay for reasons which will make clear, I have to do far more than changes his name. There is no "what most autobiographical authors" do, because we're all writing about different lives.
Often people use composites, or do what I intend to do with this character.

Jay
i see

Here's the deal, everybody here knows the story, so I don't feel uncomfortable saying it in present company.
For over 10 years I have been having an affair with a married man. I first met him in Chickaloon when the base of operations for the Shell flight operations was close by.
He was in Chickaloon for six weeks or so one summer.
He came back a month later for another month.
The base of operations has moved to Barrow. He flies through Anchorage to Barrow and back again three times each summer and once each winter.
Every time he goes to Anchorage spends a night or two at the same hotel.
And I always meet him.

Jay
2:08 PM
I see

I believe that the next time I see him will be the last time whether or not I tell him that I want to not do this anymore.

Jay
I can understand why you would want to make his identity a secret

now here's where it gets tricky, I have never known a man so sexually inexperienced.

Jay
do you know much about his family life?

way too much
including knowing his wife

2:09 PM
@Jolenealaska that's what you said before the last time :P

his wife once gave me a gift that was quite lovely

Jay
waiiit what?
his wife knows about you? Or only as a friend i assume

The second time he came to Chickaloon (we were already having an affair), he brought his wife to see Alaska.

@Jay knows, not knows about

Jay
Oh i see
well thats awkward
just for clarity's sake, are they around the same age as you

2:12 PM
having to interact with her while she was sitting next to.... Let's call him Pete from now on.
he's older, he's probably close to 60. I'm 47 (48 next month)

Jay
I see

anyway that interaction was very hard for me. Especially since (at that time) I really believed that I was in love with him. In a way, I suppose I was.

Jay
Yea I can imagine

Although, at no point did I have any fantasy of Pete leaving her for me.
Their marriage breaking up would make me very sad, and it would have then, too

Jay
yea i can see the issue youre running into when trying to change him enough to be unrecognizble

2:17 PM
So anyway, one of the aspects of the relationship that has been fun for me is his complete lack of sexual experience. Apparently, his wife believes in sex for procreation, and in one position only.

Jay
rough
ermm gentle i mean

@Jolenealaska Sounds like 1984.

@Jolenealaska it was all just the electric fumbling inexperienced sex? :P

So I ask myself how I could write a man with no idea how to touch a woman, and teaching that man to give and receive pleasure from a woman.

@Jolenealaska Not that your book sounds like 1984, just this one bit.

2:20 PM
So I have decided that Pete is gay. He is in a mostly on sometimes off relationship. The way I initially seduce "Pete", will be exactly the same way I actually seduced the real Pete.

Jay
Gay but bicurious? hehe

@Jay jolene is a 6' 6" 250lb lumberjack

The Pete in the book will have had a couple of fumbling heterosexual couplings as a kid, but has come out to friends family and everyone else as gay.

Jay
oh baby sign me up

2:22 PM
@Jolenealaska if you want to describe a sexual relationship with somebody, changing his sexual orientation as a cover sounds very hard to pull off
for every real detail, you'll have to check how it meshes with the cover story

in this case, I think it will work.

@Jolenealaska Maybe you should call "Pete" instead... "Jay".

@jay I'm a 6'5" 200lb guy with a couple of lumberjack shirts, you never signed up for me <runs away sobbing>

Hi! Sorry to interrupt... mostly for @rumtscho and other Seasoned Advice mods. I'm a mod over at Coffee. Sometimes, when I see a coffee-related question here at SA, I'd like to suggest it for Migration to Coffee. What's the best way to suggest a question for migration? "Comment" seemed not well received in this case; should I "flag" (none exactly fits "migration") or request here in Chat? Suggestions welcome. Back to scheduled programme...

wouldn't it be better to change something other about his person, which was not central for your relationship?
@hoc_age well, such cases are not supposed to be migrated in the first place

2:24 PM
@hoc_age you keep your thieving mitts off our questions!
;)

it's not that we Cooking mods want to hold onto the questions, I'd be happy if they are on your site, I know you guys need more of them

@ElendilTheTall Am I uninvited from the whisky wing-back chair? ;-)

but the official position is: if a question is on topic on the site where it was posted, it should not be migrated
it's the job of the asker to decide which site to put a question on

@rumtscho Okay, I didn't understand that there was an official position. It seems a gray area in some cases, e.g., this was a new user and was perhaps unaware that a Coffee site existed.

and the moderators should not change this decision out of considerations like "it might get better results on the other site" or "the other site needs more such questions"

2:25 PM
@rumtscho the thing is, this man was 50 when I met him, and he might as well have been a virgin. At least with a 50-year-old gay man, I can make him simply not very experienced in sexual matters with women.

good grief what a daft new question. I'm tempted to ask what model the car was

Or, perhaps this is true for "seasoned" (or "Seasoned Advice") users as well. ;-)

i need to bookmark the damn food at room temp question

@hoc_age I find it perfectly OK to inform the new user of the existance of Coffee and to invite him to sign up for the community

Jay
@Jolenealaska Maybe it would be easieer to portray as a overly religious man with a vow of celibacy

2:26 PM
@hoc_age I was pretty vocally against the coffee stack before it started, simply because the vast majority of questions asked to there would be on-topic here.

but cross posting from his side is against the rules and one question will be closed if discovered

@Jay yeah, perhaps he could be a wandering warrior monk, fighting crime and failing to satisfy women

and migration without off-topicness is not done.

Jay
@ElendilTheTall You made it abundantly clear you were off the table buddy. Dont you give me that

@rumtscho Understood on the cross-posting, and I should have been even more clear about the one-or-the-other policy. I have closed or close-voted cross-site duplicates whenever I see them, so I'm totally on board with that policy.

2:28 PM
@Jay that would not work, especially since my progression from Sunday school teacher to where I am now is part of my story.

@Jay still nice to be wanted <sniff>

So, A SE-employee mod migrated this question -- discussion here from Coffee to SA without question or warning, so the policy of on-point non-migration didn't even occur to me.

Jay
@ElendilTheTall maybe ill reconsider if you send me your voice recording

you've yet to send me the script

@hoc_age you don't even have to close cross site duplicates if they are accidental - posted by different users, and not at the same time, not the same wording. It is the "one user spams multiple sites with the same question" situation which is considered closure-worthy. I agree that's not completely logical, but that's how the team wants it.

2:30 PM
@rumtscho Understood -- I'm specifically talking about near-simultaneous identical questions from the same user, which happened on Coffee and SA in the recent past. No matter; this isn't my point right now.

@hoc_age then probably that employee assumed that the question is indeed off topic on Coffee.
or the employee himself forgot the policy, that happens too :)

@Jay so the favor I'm asking of you is to read some passages (after I write them of course) and advise me. I want him to be believable as a gay man, cheating on his partner, with me.

Jay
@Jolenealaska sure id be happy to

I'm going to make him live in Chickaloon instead of living in the lower 48 in a job that sometimes sends into Alaska.

Jay
are there many gay people there?

2:33 PM
it's a one in 1 million chance that the wife of the real Pete would pick up the book. But, she has a sister (I think) with MS, and she knows my name. It's not outside the realm that she would come across the book on an Amazon search.
None that I know of, but that doesn't matter.

@rumtscho Indeed, both are possible. I see this meta q/a that is pretty clear about the "don't migrate simply to migrate", "don't migrate answered questions", and "could be on-topic in multiple sites; don't migrate if on-topic both places".

Jay
gay people generally prefer to go to a higher population area since there are more chances to meet other gay poeple

This man lives kind of a hermit existence with his partner.

Jay
i see

ooo, installing windows 10
i may be some time

Jay
2:35 PM
i guess ill hold my comments until you are done formulating all your ideas

@ElendilTheTall You poor thing. I'm very sorry. Best wishes.

When he is mad at his partner he comes to my lodge, the only watering hole for miles.

Jay
from what i heard its the best of both worlds of win 7 and win 8

@Jolenealaska your idea is interesting, but if I were a reader who liked your book and years later learned that the man was not gay after all, I'd feel badly deceived for some reason.
I'm trying to put my finger on it, but it probably would be because the motivations of a gay man having an affair with you are different of those of a straight man having an affair with you, which totally changes the situation.

@hoc_age no doubt you use some specially brewed obscure version of Linux? :P

2:38 PM
If you had covered him by giving him, say, a different ethnicity, address, and describing some endearing habit of his which the real Pete does not have, I would not feel that way.

@rumtscho Well, I'll tell you of our first crossing of the line.

@Jay From what I know, I prefer "Windows Nein" or perhaps "Windows Kein".

I don't know how prevalent such a view would be among readers though. Maybe I'm an outlier.

@rumtscho Just seems a little "unfortunate" to stick so close to "policy" in this case, since, by definition, Coffee is a proper subset of Seasoned Advice, and would be happy to keep good, on-point questions coming in the door to help Coffee site get off the ground. Coffee remains happy to receive migrated Coffee questions if you are willing to violate^H^H^H^H^H^H^H stretch policy. :)
In the interim, I shall continue to "comment" and "welcome" the users to focus coffee-related questions to Coffee! :-D
@rumtscho - Thanks for the help and information. See you around!

Asking rumi to violate policy is like asking a rock not to be heavy.

2:41 PM
@ElendilTheTall Pumice?

Hey! If I'm a rock, then certainly not pumice!
Can I be an amethyst?

Jay
yes sweetie :D

@rumtscho As in most autobiographies I will have a statement in the preface to the effect of names have been changed to protect the innocent, some characters are composites, but the stories I tell of me are true.

@rumtscho Is it light? ;-)

@hoc_age that wing-back is getting farther and farther from the fire, dude

@ElendilTheTall My massive collection of globally-sourced and fascinating whisky is dwindling ;-)

That's fine, I still don't drink
Nothing interests me less

Jay
@hoc_age my roommates sister just got back from ireland and brought us some nice single malt whiskeys

@ElendilTheTall Not until you get into proper whisky ;-)

Using alcohol to tempt me is like asking a rock not to be heavy.

Being the way I am, and the nature of my relationship with Pete, I can tell my side of the experience pretty accurately. Pete needs to be in a relationship, being with me is cheating on his partner. And he needs to be older than me, yet very inexperienced with women.

@ElendilTheTall Specific gravity of EtOH is 0.787 so it's a little lighter than your average rock...

Jay
Fun fact: Ancient Greek believed Amethyst prevented drunkenness

@rumtscho Just to be clear: I like Amethyst, and I like you, so you can be Amethyst for sure. Density (of the mineral!) notwithstanding.
Golly, I'm just putting my foot in my mouth left and right here these days.

@Jolenealaska yes, I see your logic. My reaction is more emotional than logical though. A bit like the people who read "natural aromas" on their yogurt, think "sure there are no strawberry pieces in it, but natural aroma is still good" and later learn the aroma was isolated from a mold fungus.

@Jay Wearing or eating or drinking vessel? Pro Tip: doesn't work.

Jay
wearing
as a talismen
methystos means intoxicated and "a" as in not
so its name is derived from the talismen's functionality

I have got to go get some work done before business hours. Once I get that done, I'll send you an email @rumtscho with the Alice passage and some links you might find helpful.
@ElendilTheTall good luck with the installation, I can't wait to hear what you think of it.

I'm sure you're positively beside yourself with excitement

Jay
im imagining jojo jumping up and down waving her arms

@ElendilTheTall me? actually I am. I am torn at this point whether I want it, but I will get it. The question is whether or not I will install it. The answer to that question largely depends upon the advice of you and a few others.

Others? I'm hurt ;)
Peas? In chicken tikka massala? Gtfo
