It looks ok to me

yep looks fine to e me too

> Merging develop into master

12:04 AM
Woohoo!
Now let me go ahead and delete develop for now, since I'm done with it. Do through terminal or website? (or doesn't matter?)

as you wish
but we will need a "new" develop soon anyway

Well, easier to just sync it to master, or delete and make a new one?

delete and make a new one I guess

Next thing for me will be to start adding more page content, but will need to get the IDE going first

12:11 AM
Much simpler using website lol.

lool

Well let's see if I can get anything at all done on NetBeans tonight
You said I needed Tomcat, and what's the other thing? Maven?

yep
those should be extention in your ide

Cloning the repo in NetBeans right now
Look on the left... Does it seem I have Maven already?

yeah

12:19 AM
This may be easier than I thought
For Tomcat, would I look for it using NetBeans, or Google for it, or...?

Should I get 9.x or 8.x ?
9.x seems like the only one to support Java 8

12:49 AM
try 9.0

1:03 AM
Ok cool.
Oh, there's no release version for 9.x. Guess 8 will do

1:21 AM
Ah, turns out I didn't have the right NetBeans version for Tomcat support. No wonder I was lost

1:33 AM
? netbeans doesnt seems like a good IDE
STS should be good (a Spring flavor eclipse)

Got Netbeans all installed with Maven and Tomcat now
It's just the basic "beginner" version didn't come with Tomcat and other tools like that so I downloaded the next one up

This was Run --> Test Project
@Marc-Andre I did a build & run, it built but then opened browser and displayed this error:
> HTTP Status 500 - Request processing failed; nested exception is org.thymeleaf.exceptions.TemplateInputException: Error resolving template "templates\navbar_top", template might not exist or might not be accessible by any of the configured Template Resolvers (index:28)
Is there another thing I need to get?

1:49 AM
humm that's weird
it's like the file didnt get published in your app
do you ahve a server view or somethign close to that

How would I know?
I have the Run & Tomcat logs
Not exactly sure what else you're looking for

I dont really know netbean honsetly

Not sure if it's any help. If not I'll ask skiwi tomorrow, he uses Netbeans

but I'm asking since normally you dont go through maven but just published to tomcat
the red exclamation point on webapp is not a good sign

Seems to lead to the CSS file
Taking a break, don't need to have this fixed tonight or anything

2 hours later…
3:40 AM
@Marc-Andre I ran it using GlassFish Server 4.1 (default built-in NetBeans) instead of Tomcat 8.0 and it seems to have run ok, for the most part... :
Though most of the links (except to external sites) give 404 error
Probably best to just get Tomcat working, I'll talk to the others tomorrow maybe someone has some idea.

5 hours later…
8:40 AM
hey
@Duga @SimonAndréForsberg What's up with this? @Duga crashed, right? How can it still know those things

2 hours later…
10:21 AM
@skiwi something called database persistence.

2 hours later…
12:17 PM
@Phrancis Suppose to work with GlassFish too

2 hours later…
2:20 PM
@Phrancis Links that should work : contributors/contribute and project I think

2:35 PM
hey again
@SimonAndréForsberg Ah cool, didn't know it was hooked up there already

> @Phrancis I cannot find any cards in the Excel file that has these card effects. I only find the following effects in the excel file, which should be applied to 8 different spells:

Opponent cannot scrap Mechs next turn.
Opponent cannot play Bios next turn.
Opponent cannot play any Upgrade next turn.
Deal 2 damage to all Mechs.
Owned Mechs gain 2 Attack this turn only.
Owned Mechs gain 2 Health during next opponent turn.
Restore 3 health to the player.
Restore 10 health to the play...
er.

I am not able to find any creatures with the abilities you mentioned (Ranged, Cannot attack, etc...)

@Phrancis ^^

@SimonAndréForsberg Checked the correct branch? Just wondering

@skiwi me closing issue 52 wasn't a clue for you?
@skiwi I don't think the file exists on any other branch

@SimonAndréForsberg Not much, last thing I remember was that you had some database stuff working
Just not sure how integrated it was yet

2:41 PM
oh, it's integrated :)

if that Maven bug would just fix itself on your server @Simon then that would be cool :p
hey
you actually fixed it today?!
now I'm curious...
> * What went wrong:
Could not resolve all dependencies for configuration ':compile'.
> Could not resolve com.cardshifter:cardshifter-modapi:0.5-SNAPSHOT.
Required by:
com.github.skiwi2:hearthmonitor:0.1-SNAPSHOT

> Could not find com.cardshifter:cardshifter:0.5-SNAPSHOT.
Seems like the main module pom needs to be around somewhere

@skiwi bugs that fixes themselves? that would be something...

What's your story on it for today?

@skiwi I tried to deploy it again using the old repository on my previous machine, but I don't think it got completed totally. I might retry later today.

@SimonAndréForsberg I think it got mostly completed, it's just the cardshifter.pom that's missing
so it cannot parse the pom, but the metadata is correct

2:55 PM
Monking

hey @Phrancis
@SimonAndréForsberg What's different on your old machine?

@skiwi ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
2

@SimonAndréForsberg Uh, great

it's not technically on my old machine though

Also compared the settings.xml files in the .m2 local?

3:00 PM
aaaah, wait a minute.... this is funny...
I think I know the reason
It works because there's an error.

@SimonAndréForsberg You'll either be very happy now, or start crying
Can also replace crying with raging
Flipping tables, etc.

The Javadoc thing is not working, which means that the last thing of updating the metadata.xml again is never run.

> Sorry my file is a bit confusing to read. I'm not sure we should integrate cards of type Spell or Hume just yet, but of the creatures themselves, here are those with the effects listed:

• Ranged. Suffers no damage when attacking - Gyrodroid (Mech), Assasinatrix (Mech), Longshot (Bio), Cybernetic Arm Cannon (Upgrade)
• Rush. No cast sickness - Scout Mech, Modleg Ambusher (Mech), Commander (Bio), Adrenalin Injection (Upgrade)
• Cannot attack - Supply Mech
• Heals the player for 1 health...
at the end of each turn - Field Medic (Bio)
• Cannot attack. Cast 2 Bodyman minions at no cost next to this unit - Inside Man (Bio)

@SimonAndréForsberg Yeah you could deploy it I think. I've actually never done it since it's another departement at work tht does this

@Duga A fork huh... interesting

3:15 PM
@Phrancis Indeed
@SimonAndréForsberg So it only works if the javadoc part fails?

404

@skiwi yes, exactly
@Marc-Andre I will deploy later today. Might also make a small update on @Duga

Nice

That makes exactly no sense
Why would the javadoc fail on your old configuration though?

3:32 PM
Thoughts anyone?
Do I stand a chance? :p

3:46 PM
@Marc-Andre Hey I was wondering, do I need to also get an extension or something for Thymeleaf? That seemed to be the type of errors Tomcat was throwing...

@Phrancis Thymelead should be downloaded by Maven as a library and everything should be conenct together by itself (magic).
No special intervention on your part

@Marc-Andre Is't tpyo Fridya!
4

I gues that the project is not correctly publish in your glassfish server

I should have taken a screenshot of the runtime error page that Tomcat threw at me. I will later when I'm home

@skiwi Yaeh :D

3:49 PM
Meh... taht is broing

@Phrancis I blame netbeans/maven/glassfish :P

Bah, lol.
@skiwi You ues Netbaens rihgt?

@Phrancis i find myself rebuilding the project or doing a clean in netbeans quite frequently

Well, should I forget about NetBeans altogether and go with Eclipse instead?

i just use both for different things, they both sometimes have their problems

3:57 PM
@Phrancis Wlel, I uesd ti, swtiched to InlettiJ nto lgong ago

@Marc-Andre What IDE do you use? More importantly, does it work on a Mac?

I used STS (a modified version of Eclipse) available here spring.io/tools/sts/all

I just watn somthing taht wrks, dammit, so ic an do soem accual work lool
4
@SimonAndréForsberg Did my comment on that issue help?
@Marc-Andre So if I switched to that (that way we're using the same setup) do you think it would reduce the amount of frustration potential issues working together on the same repo?

@Phrancis It sure will! And once you're used to Java and setup configuration you could go with what you liked (I may moved to intellij soon)

Alright, I'll make a note. Does it come packaged with Tomcat & Maven?

4:06 PM
Yep

Super. I'll let you know how it goes once I got it running
Easy to connect to git/github I imagine?

I didn't touch a thing, it will detect your git project and repo automatically

Damn. Nice.

4:28 PM
Damn, by no means I may lose this log file of this Arena game, that was way too awesome
Almost had lethal on enemy on 30 hp at the end
He had 3x Antique Healbot at some point...
And I was on 3 hp, against a Mage
Almost managed to win by playing a +5/5 buff from Ysera (minion does die the next of your turn) on Mechanical Yeta, and then playing Big Game Hunter to kill it, to try to obtain a return minion to hand card to replay my Earthen Ring Farseer to heal me for 3 hp...
Almost worked
I'm afraid HearthMonitor will laugh at me there for missing one obvious lethal that I hadn't noticed :/

@Marc-Andre Is there any plan to make a template for HTML <head> section?

@skiwi I'm afraid HeartMonitor will do nothing because it's not implemented yet.
3

@Phrancis now there is :P

@Phrancis both yes and no. it helped me know which minions should have it, but I am not sure what excel file you have been written it in. Do you have a local version of the file that does not exist on github?

Let me check
@SimonAndréForsberg It looks like I do. I don't have a way to put it up but I can email it
Turns out it's been on my work machine all this time and I never got around to adding it to github

4:37 PM
@Phrancis send it to me as an e-mail would help, thanks

What's your email again? I don't have access to my personal email accounts here
(unless you'd rather wait until I get home)

@Phrancis zomis2k@hotmail.com

Danke
Sent

@SimonAndréForsberg Oh crap
Didn't notice that yet!

4:55 PM
> The page header would benefit from being isolated along with the menus and such for ease of maintainability.

@SimonAndréForsberg Are you aware of the following related to Maven and javadoc?
40
Q: Maven is not working in Java 8 when JavaDoc tags are incomplete

SergioSince I use Maven I have been able to build and install in my local repository projects that have incomplete java doc tags (for example, a missing parameter). However, since I migrated to Java 8 (1.8.0-ea-b90) Maven is absolutely strict about missing documentation tags and show me lots of JavaD...

26
A: Maven is not working in Java 8 when JavaDoc tags are incomplete

ankonThe easiest approach to get things working with both java 8 and java 7 is to use a profile in the build: <profiles> <profile> <id>doclint-java8-disable</id> <activation> <jdk>[1.8,)</jdk> </activation> <build> <plugins> <plugin> <groupId>org.apach...

I think it's time for me today to push 0.1 release versions of my logapi and logreader
It doesn't seem that anyone will answer my big question on CR anytime soon :p

@skiwi No, I wasn't, but it's not related to the problem I am having.

Bummer, I'm still trying to figure out how to help you on it... but it's difficult

@skiwi I'm working on something right now...

5:17 PM
> Update README.md

Added information about location of HTML/CSS files in repo, and added more information on contributing to the project.

@skiwi I just deployed, I think you should be able to use it now. Please let me know how it goes.

5:31 PM
@Marc-Andre If I wanted to create a content branch so I can add more HTML files (to fill in all the required pages from the menus) and start filling them in, would it be OK with you?

@Phrancis Would have no problem with that !

Ok. As far as you know, does page-template.html render good?

If you had a page, you need to add the mapping to the controler though

Sure, how do I do that?

I remember it looked ok I think
but it's not linked I think I don't remmeber

5:33 PM
It doesn't need to be linked, it's just a template for page elements
Can you point me to which file I would want to add the mapping to?

Cool, so just copy one of these blocks and change the values to the new file?
	@RequestMapping(value = "/contributors",method = RequestMethod.GET)
	public String contributors(Model model) {
		return "contributors";
	}

yep
You just need to place the file in the right folder

Awesome, sounds easy enough

5:47 PM
> This file needs updated to include all pages to be linked in the navigation menus.

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Cardshifter/cardshifter.github.io/master/io.web/src/main/java/com/cardshifter/io/web/controller/StaticController.java

Attached image shows which links need to be added to the controller.

![missing-links](https://cloud.githubusercontent.com/assets/8539648/5980408/166647fc-a87e-11e4-8306-6e0dabb90c1a.PNG)

@Marc-Andre is this the proper naming method, should the file name be 2-part?
	@RequestMapping(value = "/play-cardshifter",method = RequestMethod.GET)
	public String playCardshifter(Model model) {
		return "play-cardshifter";
	}

@Phrancis that will try to load the view play-cardhisfter when localhost:8080/io-web/playcardshifter is hit.
The method name is fine

So if the file is play-cardshifter.html will this work?

yes it will

Ok perfect, off I go

6:04 PM
@SimonAndréForsberg Let me check... in what way did you deploy it? The correct way, or the workaround one?

@skiwi depends on what you mean with correct... I think it should work anyway

Blegh, red text, that better not be an error
> * What went wrong:
Could not resolve all dependencies for configuration ':compile'.
> Could not find com.cardshifter:cardshifter-api:0.5-SNAPSHOT.
Searched in the following locations:
https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/com/cardshifter/cardshifter-api/0.5-SNAPSHOT/maven-metadata.xml
https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/com/cardshifter/cardshifter-api/0.5-SNAPSHOT/cardshifter-api-0.5-SNAPSHOT.pom
https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/com/cardshifter/cardshifter-api/0.5-SNAPSHOT/cardshifter-api-0.5-SNAPSHOT.jar
https://oss.sonatype.org/content/groups/public/com/cardshifter/cardshifter-api/0.5-SNAPSHOT/maven-
Cache problem I think?
Better be a cache problem

> Update StaticController.java

Added all links to left nav menu to Controller. This solves Issue #23.

It's being slowpokes as hell though for some reason

6:11 PM
@skiwi It'd better be, I wouldn't be able to explain anything else.

Crap
The message is still there
Grmblblblglgllglglglglglgglgl

Are you using the correct snapshot?

tried cleaning the project?

Yup yup yup, it's on the repo side... again :/

6:14 PM
hmmm...

Is there a difference between cardshifter-api and cardshifter-modapi? The latter seems to be working
At least the metadata is correct there

I can understand why it happens, but I think the reason for it happening is wrong.

Trying to argue with Maven sounds hopeless though :/

Is it more or less hopeless than arguing with Stack Overflow?

Don't think know about that one ^

Q: The rules are nonsense

IamBatmanLook, I like this site when I'm looking for an answer. I just recently have been trying to contribute. I feel the answer I leave helps the poster out. While everyone that has the "god" power feels it's not. This makes me NOT want to contribute to this site as I'm sure other's have been treate...

Why do you think it happens though?

Like this ?
2

@skiwi "don't think know"?
@Marc-Andre not precisely like that hopefully :)

@SimonAndréForsberg Eh, wtf

> New HTML files need created in this directory using page-template.html as a model, to be later edited with actual content.
https://github.com/Cardshifter/cardshifter.github.io/tree/web-content/io.web/src/main/webapp/WEB-INF

This image illustrates while files are missing:

6:20 PM
I've no clue what I was trying to say there

Nice @Phrancis !

Heh can you tell I got nothing to do at work ;D
@SimonAndréForsberg Don't yuo kno wit's typof riday? :)

@skiwi It works when the Javadoc fails, which is what's happening on the modapi. When the javadoc works, the maven process continues and for some freaking reason that I am not able to explain uploads a second maven-metadata.xml.
@Phrancis good ppiont

@SimonAndréForsberg Ugh

@skiwi I'm desperate. I think I will go to SO with this one.

@Marc-Andre Question: Would we want to save image files to be displayed within a subfolder in webapp/WEB-INF or do they go somewhere else?

Ok. And how would I reference those in a <img src="???">

6:36 PM
<img src="images/logos/Twitter_logo_blue.png" class="twitter-logo"/>
like this

@SimonAndréForsberg That's like... really desparate

Oh, so the app already knows where to look then huh?

Yes with this here :
	@Override
    public void addResourceHandlers(ResourceHandlerRegistry registry) {
		registry
			.addResourceHandler("/css/**","/images/**")
			.addResourceLocations("/css/", "/images/");
	}

Ahh pretty sweet. You thought of everything ;-)

when something call for a url containg /images/** it will look in the folder images
In fact not really that is a configuration we use at work :P
but it's pretty standard

6:39 PM
OK cool.
Damn, can't create a new folder using github site :*(
(or can I??)
TFL

If you want to add js script at the moment the web app would not know where to look

7:29 PM
@skiwi I think I might have solved it!
(without SO!)
@skiwi try again whenever you can, I believe this will work!

@SimonAndréForsberg Hooow?

@skiwi will tell you if it works

> changed deploy configuration (experimental)
> added deploying of parent pom
> Merge branch 'deploy' into maven
> re-enabled maven javadoc plugin
> corrected maven deploy configuration (finally!!! and without Stack Overflow!)

Uh... you reverted the plugin version? :D

7:42 PM
@skiwi I added deployment of parent pom, and also removed some freaking bad configuration of the deploy plugin which caused it to upload things twice.
@skiwi yeah, that too. I don't know if that actually helped solve anything, but I figured that it couldn't hurt (although technically it did)

> Update README.md

Improved sections about CSS and image guidelines.

-						<phase>deploy</phase>
-						<goals>
-							<goal>deploy</goal>

-				</executions>
@skiwi I think it was those lines that caused the problem ^^

@Duga is going to have lots to talk about tonight at RELOAD!

I noticed that first there was a phase named default-deploy running, and after that there was a phase named deploy, so I figured that removing those lines would help, which it did.

@SimonAndréForsberg It's just a few characters, how can it cause that much trouble?!
2

7:44 PM
@skiwi Missing operator or semicolon.
that's one of the first error messages I got, from Delphi ^^
and that was only one character.

@Phrancis I always have lots to talk about

@SimonAndréForsberg Imagine the pain if we change 1000 characters randomly!

@skiwi faceroll on the keyboard!!

[Cardshifter/Cardshifter] build #683 for commit 166229d2 on branch develop passed

@skiwi the worst part is that I don't know why I added that configuration in the first place, but it was probably from some Stack Overflow answer...

7:53 PM
@SimonAndréForsberg Even more ugh...
I don't know why it was working in the first place!

@skiwi Because the Javadoc has been failing, the deploy phase was never run (only default-deploy). And before, it has only been a single module that was deployed. Now, two modules are deployed.

Ok.... still weird
