12:20 AM
Hard at work I see!

yep now master is good to go!

12:38 AM
Okay! Awesome

aaaand you'll need some IDE and a webserver and understand Thymeleaf :P

Now I notice the shortcut link we've been using cardshifter.github.io which used to pull index.html doesn't work now

yeah since it's not just html files

I see ok

it's a full blown web application
it need to be hosted
but @SimonAndréForsberg have everything for this

12:40 AM
Well I got a web server, so does Simon. I think his is on his own machine, mine is hosted through... er some 3rd party, can't recall whom right now
Ok cool. Whatever we need to do
Netbeans work OK as an IDE for that?

Sure

Now, I'm guessing at this point Github will mostly just be storage for the web code then? Curious as to how we will go about updating/adding pages/content and such.
Through IDE or, does it need a FTP or something?

Well you'll still use git... Here is the workflow :
-Make changes (in the IDE or any way)
-Commit with git
-push when done
Et voila

So, no different, other than you need the IDE to render the web app locally?

yep

12:50 AM
Oh ok. And Netbeans can do HTML and stuff just fine AFAIK, right?

Yeah you'll need the maven extention and either Tomcat or something else

May I recommend perhaps updating the README.md to add instructions to connect etc. with an IDE?

Maybe

Is Tomcat server-side or something I need to have on my machine?

Tomcat is the server
that you'll need on your computer to host the app

[skiwi2/HearthMonitor] build #15 for commit 655459ba on branch develop passed

12:55 PM
Bugger, something is wrong in my logic
Or maybe not, but still confusing

what's the logic problem, @skiwi?

@SimonAndréForsberg I want to have commands that operate on an ECSGame instance
Ideally you'd want to pass that argument in the execute() method, but then also it needs to be available in the undo() and it's strictly not a command pattern anymore
Currently I just pass the ECSGame reference in the command via the constructor, it's a bit ugly, but works

aha
well, a command does need to know what to operate on, right?

Yep
And that's passed in via the constructor
This will probably work, but a specific command is now always tied to that ECSGame instance

[skiwi2/HearthMonitor] build #16 for commit 4118b89d on branch develop passed

Also, I may be using Cardshifter here...
Perhaps going to do unconventional things with it :p
@SimonAndréForsberg Still around?

@skiwi will be interesting to see what you do with it

I cannot find ECSAttributesMap in the library version I'm using
Does that on the top mean that it's included in the develop branch?
Is perhaps the jar on your server outdated?

it might be
I'll see if I can deploy a new one

Ok, that would be helpful :)
Actually, the last deployment is from 24 October, this commit is from 4 November
I think I know pretty sure that it's then not included

@skiwi I'll see what I can do, getting some damn javadoc errors from the maven build right now...

@SimonAndréForsberg Seems like you managed the modapi already, though the api is still not there

managed? what did I manage?

I don't think it was completely uploaded though

1:35 PM
That I don't know, haven't tsted yet
I'm also still thinking how I want to transform my Map<String, String> into data for an entity
> [Power] GameState.DebugPrintPower() - FULL_ENTITY - Creating ID=4 CardID=HERO_07
[Power] GameState.DebugPrintPower() - tag=HEALTH value=30
[Power] GameState.DebugPrintPower() - tag=ZONE value=PLAY
[Power] GameState.DebugPrintPower() - tag=CONTROLLER value=1
[Power] GameState.DebugPrintPower() - tag=ENTITY_ID value=4
[Power] GameState.DebugPrintPower() - tag=FACTION value=NEUTRAL
[Power] GameState.DebugPrintPower() - tag=CARDTYPE value=HERO
[Power] GameState.DebugPrintPower() - tag=RARITY value=FREE
Like that
Using the ECSAttributeMap seems like most logical, except that I cannot handle unknown attributes then
I feel like I should be able to reuse the XmlCardLoader, but that's quite a huge undertaking if I were to refactor in there right now

@skiwi force update and try it out noww
I think you should be able to find ECSAttributeMap now

would that matter?
The class is in the modapi module it seems
??

@skiwi clean and rebuild

That's what I did

do it again :)
there is no cardshifter-modapi-0.5-20150129.134044-4.jar and as far as I know, there has never been one

there is a *-3.jar though

Your Maven metadata claims there is one

hmm....
build number does not match filename
@skiwi I'll throw away all the existing cardshifter stuff on the repo and redeploy. Hold on
@skiwi new version is deployed
in worst case, you might need to clear your gradle/maven cache for cardshifter

@SimonAndréForsberg Oh... I always clear my Gradle cache because else I get in a fight with the IntelliJ inspector
I try to not clear my Maven cache though... that would be very painful
Grmblgl
Your data now refers to a version-2
So no success yet :/

@skiwi I really can't explain why it is like that. I believe I've done everything I could here.

2:03 PM
@SimonAndréForsberg I don't know exactly what you're doing unfortunately

@skiwi what I am doing with what? my Maven repository? or in the Cardshifter code?
are you absolutely sure the problem isn't on your end?

All I know is that Gradle attempts to find http://zomis.net/maven/com/cardshifter/cardshifter-modapi/0.5-SNAPSHOT/cardshif‌ter-modapi-0.5-20150129.135212-2.jar in this case
Doing with uploading to your Maven repo I meant

@skiwi I simply removed all the cardshifter files on my webserver, then did mvn clean deploy on my computer.

I don't know :/
It seems like your maven-metadata.xml is incorrect, but why
There it does correctly list the -55 version and that's also the last one available

2:19 PM
> This is the job of JavaBot development. The commands are not part of the client. If in any case commands were to require additional configuration, that should be done in a separate issue

@SimonAndréForsberg On which pom did you do the deploy?

@skiwi parent pom

Do you need to input your credentials then to upload?
Because you changed around some things I believe
Should a single deploy also both upload the cardshifter-api and cardshifter-modapi modules?

@skiwi I put the credentials in my settings.xml in my .m2 directory
@skiwi I don't see why it shouldn't? Although currently, it seems like the API part is not deployed at all (I think that's intended...)

2:29 PM
@SimonAndréForsberg Exactly
There's no error messages on your side?

@skiwi There are no error messages here. I think not deploying the -api module is intended. The -modapi is all that is required for modders.

Found an occurence finally
1
Q: Why is my nexus metadata.xml snapshot version incorrect?

gavioto20This is my metadata. It's clearly incorrect, but I don't know why, so maven can't update download dependencies in my project. <metadata modelVersion="1.1.0"> <groupId>com.test</groupId> <artifactId>test-sdk</artifactId> <version>1.7.0-SNAPSHOT</version> <versioning> <snapshot> ...

The -api module only contains information about how the client and server interacts

@SimonAndréForsberg That explains that part
Silly question, but are you sure you're using Maven3 there?

@skiwi yes ^^

2:32 PM
Ah, you did get a new PC... so at least we have something that's different compared to last deployment
However I doubt it matters

yes
I think the configuration is exactly the same though

I don't know what's different

it is also a changed artifact I am deploying
still don't see why the metadata fucks up

Did your server also change?
Not sure exactly how that relates to the maven deploy though
Our new question might be: Who creates the maven-metadata.xml file?

Not me!

2:40 PM
It's like somehow a second deploy is triggered, but then cancelled

Does travis can try to deploy ?

@SimonAndréForsberg What happens if you try to deploy from inside the cardshifter-modapi module, any difference?

@skiwi nope, the server is the same. And that's just a Apache HTTP server with some harddrive space, got nothing to do with it.

@Marc-Andre It can... currently I'm using Travis on my own API parts to call a gradle function that deploys to OSS

2:45 PM
@Marc-Andre I'm not deploying with it now at least, I am not even doing any git commits!
@skiwi will test

Maybe good idea to clean it again because it has incorrect stuff there
Not sure how good Maven would handle that

Good just wanted to identify possible actor in the deploy process
@skiwi Maven itself is not even sure

Didn't help either seemingly :/
> <snapshotVersion><extension>jar</extension><value>0.5-20150129.144647-1</value><‌updated>20150129144717</updated></snapshotVersion>
I don't understand why it has that updated field there

@skiwi it is my computer that does the maven-metadata things
I will investigate the pom

3:02 PM
@skiwi I was going to compare the Cardshifter pom.xml with your pom.xml, but realized you're using gradle -.-

@SimonAndréForsberg Hehe... Cardshifter should use Gradle too... one day?

@skiwi I do consider it right now...
not sure if it would help, as you are using apply plugin maven

Maybe try deploying the logapi or logreader form hearthmonitor if it's easy enough to build?
Or any other Maven project of your own
See if it also messes up

@skiwi how would I deploy that? or... you mean I would deploy your code to my repo?

@SimonAndréForsberg Yeah
Or hmm
now I'm wondering
no a deploy should be fine
All Gradle + Maven plugin projects should support install/deploy

3:13 PM
@skiwi where have you configured your authentication(userName: ossrhUsername, password: ossrhPassword) ?

@SimonAndréForsberg Don't touch that! (Please)
That's for uploading to the sonatype repo
I configure it through the travis.yml file as encrypted data
Err @SimonAndréForsberg, spotted a small bug: zomis.net/maven/random
This redirects to the WordPress not found page

@skiwi if I'm supposed to deploy to my repository, I have to know where they come from

Was a bit unexpected :p

@skiwi what's buggy with that?

@SimonAndréForsberg Does a simple maven deploy not work?
@SimonAndréForsberg I didn't think about being on the WordPress site anymore
I think I found the deploying part @SimonAndréForsberg
uploadArchives {
    repositories {
        mavenDeployer {
            repository(url: "https://oss.sonatype.org/service/local/staging/deploy/maven2/") {
                authentication(userName: ossrhUsername, password: ossrhPassword)
            }

            snapshotRepository(url: "https://oss.sonatype.org/content/repositories/snapshots/") {
                authentication(userName: ossrhUsername, password: ossrhPassword)
            }

            pom.project {
                name 'HearthMonitor LogReader'
You need to change the url's to your own url's
Then you can call it with
gradle uploadArchives -PosshrUsername=xxx -PosshrPassword=yyy

3:23 PM
On another completely different subject, can't close some branches in Cardshifter ?

@skiwi Doesn't work and not exactly sure why ^^

@SimonAndréForsberg Wait... it cannot deploy it, because it cannot find the artifact it wants to deploy?
Am I reading that correctly?
And it says transferring 30K from remote, that's strange
Shouldn't you be using the ftp version by the way?

@Marc-Andre the real Cardshifter repo you mean? I'm up for it, got any branches you'd like to recommend closing?
@skiwi I was asking myself the same thing...
@skiwi what / how ?
never deployed with gradle before

@SimonAndréForsberg In the Maven pom's you are using:

@SimonAndréForsberg Strange
I don't know, I might just give up for today

I'm attempted to do the same thing.

There's still no reason why the normal Cardshifter deploy shouldn't work

I know
but it doesn't apparently

Monking

hey @Phrancis

3:50 PM
hey @Phrancis
Uh damn
I think I forgot what I needed to study for my driving lessons next week

4:05 PM
well, i ended up solving my problem, and it was a reference issue. I was using something called [NSMutableArray arrayWithArray:], and i thought it was copying the objects inside of the array, but apparently it was only copying pointers
and with that out of the way, I've got the AI picking the highest score match every time :) Next up will be to search 3 into the future and choose the one with the highest score there

nice @bazola
I wish I had some more game development motivation
don't know where it went

@SimonAndréForsberg Into doing laundry?

I've got more ideas than I can possibly work on. this bejeweled one is pretty basic but it has been very good practice, but I would like to move on to the next idea that will be more original

@bazola same here
@skiwi nope, lost it a bit before that I think

4:24 PM
@SimonAndréForsberg So like before you got up?

4:35 PM
@SimonAndréForsberg @bazola This may seem like a novel idea, but there's this game in development called Cardshifter... :)
2

@Phrancis That sounds like an interesting idea

4:53 PM
Oh... damn
I suddenly don't mind going 4-3 in Arena anymore
(Not bad, but was 4-1 at a point)

For Cardshifter, I see there have been a bunch of commits back in Nov to fix bugs and things like that, which is great. But, I think it would be good also to start working on making the game more fun too!

> It would be simple to transform the command handling in DefaultBot a little so that every command reply would be a real reply. CommandHandles then wouldn't be allowed to "reply" themselves

@skiwi dr boom is a nice card to get!

5:39 PM
@bazola Yeah, have gotten him against me already for sure :p

6:01 PM
@SimonAndréForsberg every branch that are not use and behind the last release :P

@SimonAndréForsberg Do you think you can solve the deployment issue in some way? Perhaps manually writing the metadata file? (Correcting what is wrong)

@Marc-Andre in other words.... none?
@skiwi perhaps I could if I would try, but I'm fed up with it for now.

@SimonAndréForsberg I can understand... gotta figure out how to work on it
Perhaps I can copy it over locally and push commits tomorrow or whenever

@skiwi you can always pull the changes on cardshifter, switch to the gdx branch and do a manual local install

I don't think I'll make that much of a progress today either way
gdx branch over develop?

6:12 PM
I've made some refactorings on the gdx branch that don't exist on develop
refactoring the -api and -modapi interactions

Hmm... I've been only working on develop so far

@SimonAndréForsberg WOW I haven't realize that it was the case ...

@Marc-Andre the last release (0.4) was a looooong time ago.
perhaps our goals for 0.5 was set too high

Perhaps releasing the game 0.5 would motivate a bit. I don't know !

I think it would

6:19 PM
probably would

At least 2 branches are stale.. so maybe those are candidate for merging ?

I think also a first version of the libgdx version would be very positive
@Marc-Andre which ones?

My main thing I think would at least make it more interesting to play is to integrate my pull request with the more interesting cards with names. And then anything on the backend that works and fixes a few bugs

@Marc-Andre you'll have to check with @skiwi about those. I don't think he finished the work on them.
@Phrancis right. I was going to check in on that... then I don't know what happened

6:22 PM
Is the label "ready" for things ready to be shiped in a release ?

@Marc-Andre ready to be worked on
we've been using waffle.io a lot
and that comes with that label by default

next-realese mean that they re ready ?

yup, next-release = will be included in next-release

25 issues ready, and only 5 in progress
25 issues seems like a good improvement

that's a good point, @Marc-Andre

6:29 PM
@Phrancis I'll do the images.html in the app, and ask questions on Code Review tonight (read as I will try)

@Marc-Andre Ok cool. Maybe we can pick some evening or a weekend day so I can get my IDE setup to work and be able to add content and such to the site

@Phrancis Sure no problem with that !

Did you see what I posted in Issues that has the images for the images.html page?

Yep but didnt you already work on the page ?

Not enough to be worth keeping, really
It was one image and a short paragraph
As far as I'm concerned, if you just adapted the page-template.html to your app (if you haven't already) I can roll from there with content once my IDE is good to go
TFL

6:38 PM
@Phrancis I need to check bu sunday morning or saturday after supper could be a good time to setup your IDE.

> added debug info for (de)serializing

@skiwi What version of maven do you have?

@SimonAndréForsberg Probably haven't finished
@SimonAndréForsberg 3.2.1

@Marc-Andre I got something Saturday evening, but Sunday should be good

@skiwi I tried deploying from another computer, running Maven 3.0.5 - same result.

@skiwi GO!

Girls are difficult to understand...
I should just keep programming, that's way easier

Wait until you see a program made by a girl BOOM!

I don't understand how one can first have lots of time, and then completely shut herself off from friends for a week

@skiwi considering my programming day, I feel vice-versa...

It's also mildly annoying to be pissed without being able to be pissed.

Like that?

Sort of yeah
@Marc-Andre Is there a way I could merge only the contents of the prettify-test folder into master? Everything else I have in develop is absolutely of no use to the new setup of master
So in other words, merge that folder, then just delete the develop branch
Ah looks like it's pretty simple actually
$ git branch
* master
  develop
$ git checkout develop prettify-testing/
$ git status
# On branch master
# Changes to be committed:
# 	files here
$ git commit -m "merge Prettify folder into master"
Look about right?

24 hours ago, by Marc-Andre
"Read the last phrase as : I let you fix if you break something in develop because of master " :P
hihihihihi

Right, that's exactly what I'm doing lol

actually not really...
why are you still on master after you checked out development prettify-testing/ ?

@Phrancis I'm with @Vogel612 on this one ^^

8:15 PM
Ok
Was just reading this
I'll just do like we did the other day Simon and resolve conflicts

@Phrancis it might be just me, but I think the best option is to merge the whole branch

Ok
Think it may be a good idea to clean up unneeded files from develop, keep whatever is relevant, commit-push to develop (in case a rollback is needed), then merge the whole branch

@Phrancis I'd rather do the merge before
otherwise there will be merge conflicts

8:30 PM
Oh ok cool
I'll do that then, maybe I should read on what merge actually means, it's a bit unclear at the moment

Knowing what you're actually doing is always helpful
4

@Marc-Andre No way!

I've done a lot of things that I had no idea whatsoever how it works ! (maven)

So, if I understand better, when you "merge" it doesn't "do" anything besides comparing the two branches and checking if things fit together or conflict?

@Phrancis it's also important to understand what exactly causes a merge-conflict
@Phrancis and it tries to combine the two things as much as possible
