Cute.

I think he has a crush. Was sitting there watching an ambulatory mop poodle with dreadlocks on her front half ;p

Haha.
Or he was just shocked by same.

naw
did it last week too.

Horrified, then?

4:25 AM
lol
That is not a horrified expression ;p

Perplexed?
Nonplussed?
Petrified?

sitting there grinning ;p
or he's wondering why there's a mop running around ;p

Probably that.

He typically runs up to and greets anyone tho ;p

5 hours later…
9:35 AM
@JourneymanGeek Still has some doubts as to whether it's a canine or a mop? Any self-respecting dog wouldn't run up to greet a cleaning tool. In public, nonetheless.
@Jefromi lol! No, not at all. It was this answer: cooking.stackexchange.com/questions/21376/… I suggested removing the reference just in case someone took offence and because it does not influence the answer part of the post.
@rumtscho see ^

Hi foodies!

Hi @Anonymous!
Quiet morning atm, but I'm here!
Have you been here before?

Hmm…what's your favorite food?

LOL!

I am anonymous, you don't need to know for how much I was here :D

9:48 AM
I don't have one favourite.

@Stephie oh,good morning!

@Anonymous and good [appropriate time expression] to you!
Do you have a favourite?
Food, I mean.

Yes,I like biryani
I didn't tasted turkey though,I suppose it to be tasty

I have eaten biryani only perhaps once or twice in my life.

Was that tasty?
If you eat in other than India, then you may get not so tasty biryani ,did you are Turkey?

9:55 AM
Yes. I love to eat Indian and other Asian food, but finding a good restaurant is hard.

Q: Why add salt to the water when cooking pasta?

brynWhat is the effect of adding salt to the water when cooking pasta?

One of our "classics". What about it?

I swear if some question is asked on physics site, then it will be closed as homework!
@Stephie I don't understand which classic you mean (sorry for bad English)

@Anonymous "classic" as in one of the questions that are asked and viewed often.
@Anonymous but we look at that from another perspective. Not just physics, but chemistry and other sciences. And in the end, the main bit is "what does it mean for us cooks".

Hmm…I see,but that question is too short that someone will find wrong in that
Nevermind
There is no frequent question how many months old this site is?

10:02 AM
We don't have a "classics" tag. This wouldn't make sense here.
Seasoned Advice is a good six years old. I don't know when it left Beta, though.

Yes,I checked :D

I've been here for a bit over two years only.
It's a nice comunity and we have a few regulars here in chat.

Chat on cats :P

This is officially the cooking chat, but we talk about almost everything that comes up.
So are you someone who likes to cook, @Anonymous?

Q) why don't we eat heavy food in morning?
@Stephie no,I am just interested in delicious food to eat

10:10 AM
@Anonymous I doubt that claim. Have you ever seen an large American breakfast with eggs, bacon, hash browns, pancakes.... That's a full-blown meal and I probably wouldn't eat it for dinner.
It's very much a cultural thing.

Is it asked before on this site? I will ask :D

that would be off topic.

:O

-> second block, sixth bullet point.

I see

10:14 AM
And it makes sense, because one can't conclusively answer this type of question.

@Stephie this might be an issue, yes

The answer would always be "It is how it is because traditionally cultural group X does / did Y" .
Hi @JourneymanGeek!

What have you been up to today?

not much. dog run, gaming...
usual sunday ;p

10:28 AM
Made fluffy (blueberry) pancakes from scratch. Just because.

10:38 AM
Tell me about the weather, please! Sunny? Warm? Here we had a nice sunny day yesterday and are back in a greyish dump again.

10:51 AM
lol
its oscillating between hot and sunny and pouring rain
We had ... hot and sunny with thunder this afternoon
Sunday mornings are almost always fine though ;p
Oh, and saw a pretty big grasshopper today

11:04 AM
Cool! How big?

about an inch?

Neat. Here most insects are still hibernating.

Snacking on that leaf?

11:28 AM
I think he was just chilling

Let's hope so.
Time to start prepping lunch.

or that he dosen't have a few million cousins paying a visit

<desperately searching for inspiration>

12:08 PM
@Stephie I hope not from my photo ;p

12:59 PM
@JourneymanGeek lol! Insects aren't a part of my food culture at all!

3 hours later…
3:48 PM
The sun made a late appearance today and I took a little stroll through my garden. And -yay! - I found a few herbs that started to grow:
Who wants to guess what they are?
The weeds will get a tiny grace period, because I want to use the first growth of nuisances like dandelion and lesser celandine in the kitchen.

2 hours later…
6:11 PM
@Stephie chives, the first#
lemon balm second? May be too young to recognize.
no idea about the third. I've only seen decorative plants with such buds, and don't know their names.

@rumtscho Yes and yes.
The third is (Russian) tarragon.
But my favourite picture of the day is this one:

My grandmother's tarragon looks very different
oh, congrats

Snowdrops huddling under a strawberry leaf.

some weeks ago my mother asked me if they are already blooming here, I had to tell her that I have no idea where to look for them
by now, there are some crocuses and wild daisies blooming in the garden (Wolfgang's garden is very sunny).

Every front garden?
Here, they've been out for about a week, possibly two in very sunny spots.

6:17 PM
I am now trying to think whether I bike along any front gardens
if yes, I did not notice snowdrops
Oh, btw I decided to paint my nails blue and did it today

I'd have assumed your area being about two to three weeks ahead of us. But what do I know?
@rumtscho pictures, or it didn't happen!

My host (Silvia, not Wolfgang) looked at them and laughed and said "scheußlich"
it's her daughter's nail polish I used :)

LOL!

It's too early for pics. I am not very precise when painting my nails, and always get a bit on the skin. Then after half a day or a day it falls off.

I was just kidding anyway. Post if you feel comfortable. No pressure!

6:22 PM
I don't mind posting pictures of my fingers :)
I've posted some with my face too, but you have to look around a lot before you can find them

I won't. Not because I'm not interested, but because I'm too busy. That darn kitchen won't clean itself.

Sigh, that's a problem with all kitchens I've been in.

Major design flaw, if you ask me.
Especially on weekends I kind of lose track of how many times I run the dishwasher.
At least I usually rope a minor into kitchen duty.

lol!
I just imagined one of those old fashioned mills intended for a mule to be tied to them with a rope and endlessly walk in a circle, only with your minor roped to it
is M1 still in hospital?

I suppose that's how they see it too. ;-)

6:27 PM
Oh, speaking of hospitals, I have to call my grandma

Home since Thursday afternoon. What's up with your gran?

got discharged today
haven't I written about it? It's been a whirlwind those last days

At least I didn't know. What happened?

She has had a diaphragm hernia for years, unrecognized
her stomach was 2/3 in the ribcage

Oh? Got surgery?

6:32 PM
mom, on the phone

Go.

The surgery was not difficult, it is a routine thing and she is a strong woman, especially for her age
also, we chose a good hospital and the better surgery option (laparoscopic, not open)
so everything went really well
but she was so worried before she decided to do it, she almost wanted to skip it
she has never had a full sedation before
but we convinced her that it is worth it
for years, she has had symptoms and everybody thought she has coronary disease
now we hope that she can reduce or even stop her heart medication, if the symptoms were caused by the stomach pressing against the heart and lungs
so, everybody is happy now

Eeeek, the "stomach trouble feeling like a heart attack" thing.
Tell her I wish her a speedy recovery!

she just needed some help and encouragement several weeks ago, when she was scared to do it
thanks
now she is happy that she did it
I have to go eat now, see you later
the others are at the table waiting

Bye!
