o/

Hi Baby
Have you seen Amadeus?

not for many years
many many years
so many years that I can hardly remember anything about it
:D

That was me too, I saw it when it was in the theater. I barely remember it except that I really liked it. Just started it on Netflix.

I don't think I was old enough to see it at the cinema xD

I would imagine not :)
You might have seen it, but probably would have lacked an understanding of its more subtle points.

9:16 AM
You do 8 year old me a grave disservice madam!
:D

In the very opening scene, one of the actors was driving me nuts. I knew that I knew him from something beyond just knowing him as a character actor. I knew him from something in particular.

The AI salesman in The Arsenal of Freedom - TNG.

oh christ
I'm not that nerdy
xD

The one where the weapons sales display is really killing things.

9:22 AM
yeah... no idea
i will google it :D

ah, I recognise him
he was in an episode of The X Files
and in Ghost iirc

shame about Bill Paxton eh?

Yep, it's like 2016 keeps on giving.

9:24 AM
2016 - 16 - 61 - BP was 61 O.o
it's a conspiracy
:D
actually it's almost like people die every minute and some of them happen to be famous, but whaddayagannado

Christ that's young.

complications after heart surgery
stroke IIRC

Have you seen anything about the Academy Awards?

the winners, and that they buggered up the Best Picture announcement big time

The best picture announcement was what I wondered about. What a way to screw up!

9:31 AM
indeed

Steve Harvey recently did that at the Miss Universe pageant (or one of those), and it seems to me that something else recently happened that was just like that.

still, the news outlets are blowing it out of all proportion
'Some rich people were slightly confused and annoyed today'

I didn't see it, but I got the impression that it was corrected immediately - it's not like they had to physically take the statues away from the other people.

that's right
the producers did their speeches
then the first one came back to the mic and said "There's been a mistake, Moonlight has won"
then Warren Beatty came back to explain what went wrong
basically Emma Stone's best actress card was in the envelope, so they read out La La Land assuming that was what it meant
should've just said 'um this looks wrong' I guess
but hey
who cares
:D

All in all, I think I will someday recover.

9:49 AM
phew
it will be a long hard road for us all I'm sure
first Trump, now this

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. I'll probably learn whether or not I'm going to get the MS treatment I have been hoping for.

fingers crossed!

On that note, I need to go to bed :( I'll be able to stay up longer tomorrow.
Good night!

Sleep tight, @Jolenealaska!
And good morning, @ElendilTheTall!

10:07 AM
night jojo
@Stephie hello you

Yay! Multitasking extreme! It's one of those days!

10:28 AM
:)

10:40 AM
If its a consolation, you are not lowest priority.

oh, thank you :)

I have the music track of our Zumba choreography running on a loose. It's all mental training!

:)
burning calories via your eardrums

11:38 AM
It's a medley and the parts where it switches songs is a bit rough <cough>.

But for now, I'm enjoying the 2nd hall of my lunch break: sunny and warm enough to skip a coat.

you lucky thing
it's 5 degrees here
brrrr

11:53 AM
It's down to freezing at night, though.

Well that's ok, you're in bed (presumably) :)

12:24 PM
Erm, yes. At least not wandering around outside.
Did you see my picture of the snowdrops?
Not supreme quality, but I think it's somewhat cute.

1:18 PM
can't say I did
let me have a wee look-see
very nice :)

6 hours later…
7:25 PM
@rumtscho not convinced that the "salty chicken burrito" question is a true dupe. I read it as "does generous salting / spicing make a difference".

7:42 PM
@Stephie I see your point
there was a time when we were overloaded by questions which asked about the same thing, but with tiny details different
so our goal was to have a canonical question which can be used as a dupe target independently of the details

I know. I have VTCed them by the dozen.

it is somewhat arguable whether "these are the rules, follow them" is different from "I know the rules but I think that my situation is an exception, is it an exception"
technically it is a different question, in reality it is the same plague as the ones which do not spin the hope for an exception as the heart of the question
what would be a good way to deal with this kind if not by reusing the canonical dupe target?

In favour of the OP is that they already researched the "safe for 3-4 days" part. That's why I choose to answer instead of VTCing.

so you would prefer to keep such questions open and answer each separately?
I would maybe favor a separate canonical question of some kind
at some time, I thought of a question about preserving your own recipes by adding something like salt and vinegar, with an explanation why it is not done

It's perhaps just because I would have preferred to see this one seen closed by the comunity instead of mod-hammered.

7:48 PM
mostly for the hot sauce questions, I think we have at least 4-5 of those
Hmm, OK
I looked at it, but it already had an answer starting to go into the possible reasons for it (mold)
and so I thought that it is already attracting the kind of answers we don't want (implying that you can reason yourself around the food safety rules)
Did you see this answer as a problem, or as OK?

8:03 PM
@rumtscho which one? Mine or the one quoting the canonical answer?

The one about mold

That's a new user taking a stab at an answer. Not that bad imho. Has a source, a quote and a conclusion.
Neat - two new users working together! Look at the comment-discussion! Those two were serious. I like to see something like that, it shows real interest.

8:28 PM
Yes, seen like that, I was too quick to intrude
