02:00 - 14:0014:00 - 23:00

2:10 PM
@ElendilTheTall Double the yeast? I thought the rule was 1.5.
Is that a thing with that brand?
Goodnight all...see ya tomorrow! (Probably)

2:30 PM
@Jolenealaska no, but the recipe calls for an hour rise - he'll need the extra if he wants to achieve that

2:43 PM
@Phrancis hello
you pop in and out but never speak

Hey
Must be my computer at home acting up :)

Or you are some kind of chat-ninja
a really bad one

LOL
Admittedly, this is not the room I'm most active in

2:59 PM
and who's fault is that?

Mine, largely!
Need any help with CSS? I know my way around it pretty well

Not me, rumi does occasionally

3:45 PM
@ElendilTheTall I had to brush my teeth, then I had to walk by the computer anyway.....

2 hours later…
5:46 PM
@Cerberus Lovely... Well, at least when they try to sell my data to marketers, good luck! They can't keep it straight. They seem to think I'm at least three people.

@derobert Haha that could work to your advantage.
Unless they somehow block you from stuff because the computer doesn't like your profile.

Well, as long as they only block one me, and still let the other two in, I guess that's fine :-/

@derobert a single body is not enough to hold your large, generous soul, and all the knowledge you have acquired over the years.

And here I was thinking that the large body was fully explained by the number of calories I acquired over the years..

hola

6:00 PM
hi @rfusca

@rumtscho how goes it?

@rfusca it's well, thanks. Had a hard week with lots of work, crowned by my supervisor liking what I delivered, and then a long weekend of sinful doing-nothing for recuperation.
And what about you?

@rumtscho well thats good!
its going ok
found out i'm going to a big conference that I've been wanting to go to, so thats good

cool, what conference?

Its a church creative conference. "Seeds" conference. Its extremely difficult to get tickets to. Sold out in 8 minutes this year. They do intense training on a lot of technology and video and lighting and creative stuff.

6:07 PM
"seeds" conference? Is this a type of conference?

Nope, the name
For creative and production directors at churches - this is the major leagues

Seems a nice place to visit, I'm happy for you
also, I had no idea that "executive pastor" is a thing

thanks :)
(I know its not your thing - church, religion, etc)
@rumtscho many churches have several campuses - so an executive pastor is usually over several different physical locations
from a technology standpoint, many larger churches point some tech companies to shame

I can imagine

*put some tech..

6:17 PM
many businesses penny pinch in the wrong places simply because every single manager in the hierarchy is urged to save costs, save costs, save costs
also I think that the average person with an organising function in a church is more motivated than the average manager in a company

@rumtscho hmm perhaps

2 hours later…
8:21 PM
hey @ElendilTheTall hows it going?

I just voted in a mod election for the first time and today is 500 days consecutive. (501 days ago I had never heard of Stack Exchange)
Banner day :)

@Jolenealaska Hah congrats!

I think I can officially say I'm not a newbie anymore :)

9:04 PM
@rfusca hey, not bad
you?
@Jolenealaska ha! speak for yourself, fresh meat

:)
Nipping at your heels like an excited chihuahua!

only rep wise

I still haven't actually put together my cookies. I think it's safe that my butter is softened by now.

I would think so

@Jolenealaska congratulations

9:11 PM
my kitchen is a bit chilly....maybe I should preheat my oven for a nice long time...just to be safe..and to sit on my ass a little longer:)
ty
Have a cup of coffee....
read new questions from overnight... No need to rush into actual activity.

Be as your state of residence's mighty glaciers

I think that's the major goal of today.
It's well below 0 (F) outside, it's a day that begs that I do very little.

at least you are a continent away from the blizzard

Tru nuff. It's always weird when I see news stories of winter being worse elsewhere than it is here.
We have had very little snow this year (in and of itself a source of annoyance), and until this week temperatures have been pretty mild.
Unfortunately, that makes it so damn icy, really treacherous.

I paddled in the snow today. It was beautiful.
I've never had much to do with water before, so I hadn't seen such a sight

9:19 PM
neat.

we're due a shocking possible maybe maximum on the very tippity toppest hills of 10cm this week

the river was relatively calm, with little currents and almost no waves on the surface
and there was the snow, falling in large flakes into the water.
The long two seater is a very steady boat, needs practically no corrections

Did you ever watch that video I've posted a few times, of the record snow year out of Valdez, - To Ahead of the Storm?

so we go like a clockwork, it has a meditative quality, just the same rhythm for 15 km

9:22 PM
@rumtscho That sounds very pretty.
I love watching big, gentle flakes.

and in the middle of this feeling, just moving my muscles rhythmically, the river banks gliding away, relatively few birds, and these large flakes.

When they're big like that and and it's cold enough, they glisten like diamonds.

@Jolenealaska they make everything look enchanted

Yep.

I haven't seen your snow video, no
@rfusca I'm going through some funny pages before going into bed, and see what I found:
> We were making leaflets for a local church, and the client wanted a logo designed with the Earth being shielded by the hand of God. I send the client a proof.

Client: The hand looks too human. Please use a hand that looks more like God’s.
I hope your church is a better client

9:26 PM
In Chickaloon if I went around the first bend in the road, there wasn't a light bulb in site. Virgin snow but maybe for some moose tracks, and great northern lights displays.
^^^There's your hand :)

I've never seen a northern light

They are sooo cool.
When they're really dancing, everyone calls everyone else, wakes em up to say, "Lights are out"

They are one thing that would convince me to visit a cold place during a cold season
I hate cold, but for such a sight, it might be worth it

Here's the video I like so much.
It's a breathtaking thing. One of my very, very favorite things, and something I hate about living in Anchorage. The city lights dim the view.

cool video
Bulgaria is a country which has lots of climate zones for such a small country
I think it's smaller than Alaska

9:32 PM
The music is perfect with it.

and while there are places where the temperature doesn't get below 0 C more than once per decade, the Northeast is always cold and snowy in winter

I'm sure it's smaller. Not many countries are bigger.

and each winter, there are a handful of days when the train to the largest city in Northeast stops, because the snow on the tracks is higher than the engine
I've never been there in winter though
in summer it's scorching
great wheat and grape country

The craziest climate thing I have experienced here is a 65 degree (F) difference in 24 hours. As in 3pm one day and 3 pm the next.

anyway, I think the snow there must look like in your video

9:35 PM
-30 one day, +35 the next....just like that

@Jolenealaska I wanted to ask if this was a desert, but it would have been 12 hours, not 24
was it monsoon or mistral country?

That's what's so crazy...12 hours wouldn't be all that odd...but 24?
It was in Chickaloon, in January.
Just headshaking.
We're a bit nuts right now because overnight lows this week are double digits below zero, but we're icy as hell (haha) because we melted last week.
Someone commented on my Whole Grain answer that the diagram is copyrighted 20004 :)

10:07 PM
@rumtscho The new sweet potato hash question is right up your alley.

@Jolenealaska but I don't feel like writing an answer. I'm going to bed now.

Yep...I looked at it and just decided I was too lazy:)
G'night.
