@ElendilTheTall Hmm, this is the lens I have. For me, it is a bit of "Jack of all trades, master of none". But yes, it is great to not change when on the road. Maybe you can write something interesting about it if it is an unusual experience for others.

Yes, Bulgarian also has Angina pectoris. But it has to be specified, and even then, it isn't mentioned often by laypeople. They probably call it something else.
It's remarkably distinctive. And there is enough variation in common vowels from what I speak naturally that I think it will take quite a bit more listening before I can get it right.
And the diphthongs were astounding. Easily 4-6 vowel sounds per written vowel.
@ElendilTheTall The slang was sometimes hopeless. I had to ask you about chippy after all. 'Row' I knew of course but it is so infrequently used that I didn't understand it until you told me.
Also- it seemed like their accent is to "posh" English as New Jersey or New York accents are to typical American.
