@RoryAlsop: Thanks :) ! I'm currently studying for a CCNA Security, and was a bit fed up with security reduced as checking a set of boolean values against some vague theoretical attackers. At least now I feel like learning concrete things ;) !

I know this is not the most sexy question in the history of meta, but I would be happy if I could get some kind of input. Comment, answer, upvote, downvote...

Q: Can we merge [session] and [session-management]?

AndersI think AviD made the case very well a year ago as an answer to a now closed meta question: There are separate tags for session and session-management. This seems incredibly redundant, I cannot imagine a situation that should be tagged with "session" but not "session-management"... If ...

@Anders - yep. I agree. I'll do that
@WhiteWinterWolf - CCNA is fairly Boolean, but then most of the early level certs in security are (see also CISA and CEH for example) as most of the more complex security concepts rely on experience, unfortunately - weighing up business needs vs security

@RoryAlsop Great! Thanks!

@Anders - apologies for the delay. I did see that post when you first popped it up, but assumed Avi would respond , and then I forgot about it... Sorry

@RoryAlsop No problem. I think you in a very democratic fashion awaited community concensus before stepping in as a moderator. :-)

We try to - as often people see a mod post in there and feel that is it decided, so for many meta requests I feel 3 days to a week is my target response time (depends on the post obviously. Some do require a fast response, eg if someone is upset, or something is obviously broken)
That should be the two merged now.

Sounds like a wise policy to me. And thanks for the merging!

@RoryAlsop actually same - I was waiting for some more community input, then forgot about it :-(
@Anders thanks for the reminder
thanks @RoryAlsop!

Oh, @Anders - that USB post - yeah, they did say "our" but I'd still mark that as spam - it's basically a link only answer to their paper. If they had provided a full answer with a link to the wider article, I'd probably let it slide
Oh - hang on - it's a question post. Yep - definitely spam :-)

@RoryAlsop Check, good to know for the future.

just realized I probably should check. Is posting archive.is links to potentially malicious python scripts that were deleted from pastebin allowed here?
sorry and feel free to mod my comment on security.stackexchange.com/questions/128422/… if not
