@StuW I would say its fine to post a link like that. People who are in the habit of copy pasting random scripts from the internet and running them are beyond saving anyway. :-) But I don't know if everybody agrees with me.

@Anders no problem - was more I didn't want to help skiddies attack that petition system

@StuW I'd say its fine - it is hard to talk about security without providing nearby skiddies with some kind of fodder. But that is just my opinion. Anyway thanks for taking the time to ask.
The script is sort of crap anyway... :-)

Yep - I'd agree with that. We may not want to have actual malicious code embedded in the page, but linking to scripts (or ideally script fragments) may be needed for the question to be answerable. Ensuring they are marked with a warning is preferred.

does anyone know how to generate the software.log from a pcap file using bro?

12:25 PM
What command are you using? Should be $ bro -r capture.pcap local

Nvm somene on general stack answered, it needed: bro -r my.pcap "Site::local_nets+={192.168.0.0/16,10.0.0.0/8}" local.bro

Cool - yes, if you don't have that set you need to explicitly call it

I'm newbing around it atm :p only discovered it's awesomeness about an hour ago
Is this "intelligent analysis" thing an extra component of bro or is it just a buzz word for general stuff bro can do?

I think it's just their term for what it does

ah right

Hello how dates are stored in https certificates ?
I’d like to know if it can handle values that would be too large to fit in a struct tm
for example, I know string are stored in the pascal way

@TerryChia : yes, I’d like to know the notafter date format.
Or rather than, what is the GeneralizedTime format ?

Google it...?

Hi, I've got a question about BeEF. How would you go about hooking up a computer cross-network (so a pc on a whole other network)? You need to hook the hook.js file, but that one is only available on your own network. So, how could I for example link to that hook.js file from www.website.com? And that if I visit it from another PC on another network I get hooked into BeEF?
I actually never understand the use of those frameworks. I succeed experimenting with BeEF, Metasploit,... on just my own network; but when I try to do it from two PCs on a separated network (more real) I can't seem to figure out how to do it.
