My brother in law is being just a proper arsehole, and I am desperately trying not to engage with him in any manner... so I just have a lot of nasty response to let out.
That's why I need @Simon. Because I know he can take my abuse.
Was at a charity dinner last night and there were many expensive porsches and ferraris (only two that would beat mine to 100mph, admittedly) but they were all outclassed by the guy who turned up in his own helicopter...
The dinner was odd - it raised about £150k for a local children's charity, but seemed to be p[populated by sexist, racist, bigoted Victorian-era old-boys-club idiots. So I'm conflicted
@RoryAlsop Helicopters are cools if you are rappelling (or abseiling pick the regional variation you prefer) from it while still wearing a suit, James Bond like. Or else, it's just showing off.
@RoryAlsop I want to so much, if I actually do it'll only be the 70D so I can claim I'm sensible purchasing a normal priced car and can dispose of it but waiting list and lack of infrastructure
you'd have liked the tech, though - each table had a bunch of Amazon tablets with a secret auction app that let you make bids, track current bids etc. And bids were posted on large screens
mph. I want to have a shot. I would miss engine noise, but I like the idea of just mashing the pedal to the floor, taking a breath, and being at 100 - mostly silently
@Arperum yay! though I hope you are taking into account that it is not straight profit... having tenants means that you are a landlord, which means you have another job to do....
well if you're running VMs then you should subtract the memory assigned and the memory required for your hypervisor from your "total memory" since that memory isn't available for the browser running in the host
I would still imagine you have more than 16GB and still imagine no matter how many of these images I open I won't see the problem
It also works pretty OK, I don't have any major complaints. Chrome really sucks for some things, like trying to send mono sound to the wrong channel for mono (as per spec) which then renders it inaudible on my rig because the sound card sticks strictly to spec
And I never really found out where the mixer was so I could fix that on my own
I did ask for documentation, no reply...
With FF I'd simply load the source code and check it out myself, if that had to be done
You know what, maybe now with memory upgrade I wouldn't run into memory problems with Chrome any more, but I just got used to FF now and I don't see any reason to switch back, everything works
primarily due to the subject not interesting me but also because the open source community is shite at providing decent audio software and the closed source community is shite at not pissing off their audio software purchasing customers
what with the steinberg elicenser and ilok dongles and all of the other nonsense I literally had to buy a USB hub just to plug in
and always on activation for the native instruments stuff
I no longer like the new Google logo
because the design is inadequate
on google.nl for example, the d in nederlands touches the e in Google
which is just ugly
although that looks like it may change because on google.com.au australia is in a different font/color/location
The N in Netherland doesn't align with L in Google tho, and kerning is just off in the whole logo, as is the font strength between the G and the rest of it, because apparently new designer has no appreciation for perception
Oh that's just untidy! Letters of different words touching? I mean that's like your peas touching your mashed potato on your plate. And we can't have that!! :D
Instead of linking to the .PDF file, instead do something like
<a href="pdf_server.php?file=pdffilename">Download my eBook</a>
which outputs a custom header, opens the PDF (binary safe) and prints the data to the user's browser, then they can choose to save the PDF despite their browser setti...
> If elected to moderator, I promise to build a wall. A massive firewall. I will keep StackExchange and Jeff out. And, I'll make them pay for it. They'll pay to host the firewall. I will make it happen. I can build firewalls. No one builds firewalls like me; and, no one else will build a firewall.
participation is overrated what if you enjoy sitting at the side, being to shy to speak or join in, what if you enjoy the feeling of inadequacy and self loathing you have about yourself because you are to weak to muster the courage to say to simply hello?
@TheJulyPlot strangers, we're not strange... well apart from @Simon and @AviD ... and @kalina and me and T'other Rory ... actually I take that back we are strange
