Because (as usual) I'm in over my head with some pro-bono projects. I'm basically adapting and extending a bunch of FOSS parts to make an automated book (including Bible) publishing pipeline in a way that just hasn't existed to date.

The short version is I'm taking book length Markdown input and producing fully typeset press ready PDFs as well as eBook formats—akin to what O'Reily has done with asciidoc for technical publications in English, except my use case is theological books and Bibles in Turkish.

@Caleb Oh interesting. I've started doing more functional programming in JS, but don't know Haskell in particular.

@curiousdannii I've picked up some Haskell already hacking on this (I've written a functional if incomplete Pandoc output filter that writes to SILE's input format. It's a bit rough around the edges as I've basically been dissecting the LaTeX writer and have no idea what I'm doing. Haskell seems pretty spectacularly powerful but I have to imagine my implementation to date looks about like a jet bike.

I'm fine with "more information can be found at" type statements in answers, especially for fine details. But would everyone generally agree that when very little explanation has been given in a BH.SE answer itself, but one simply points to his/her own blog in a link, that something is amiss? See
