@MarkHenderson Heh, awesome. Maybe it's about due?

@ShaneMadden Company that made it are no longer around. It's some industrial oil analysis program. We maintain the infrastructure for it - a btrieve database and a terminal server.

@ShaneMadden it seems to me a lot of cool software didn't survive the transition from honest-to-God serial ports and interrupts that interrupt to whatever virtual madness we have now

My boss knows about it - he used to work for the company in the 90's before he went out on his own (which is how we ended up with it when they closed down) so he does the occasional support ticket that comes through for it
But we trialled it on Server 2012, but no dice. Just crashes as soon as it loads.

@ChrisS smarter than the average bear

@ChrisS Related (kind of): schneier.com/blog/archives/2014/02/…

Hey @Wesley! General availability for the .bike tld is tomorrow!

@MikeyB Is tehre some sort of central list where you can get this info? ICANN doesn't seem to have any sort of summary or timeline for them
I'm waiting on a few specific GLTDs but information is scarse

@MarkHenderson I'm not sure, I just got email to our registrar account
The following TLDs will open for registration at Feb. 5 11AM EST (4 PM UTC):
.BIKE
.CLOTHING
.GURU
.HOLDINGS
.VENTURES
.PLUMBING
.SINGLES

.guru is going to sell a lot of domains

@MikeyB Ahh

10:28 PM
@MDMarra mdmarra.guru is available :D

@MikeyB I notice that from this list newgtlds.icann.org/en/program-status/delegated-strings none of the donuts GTLDs have been delegated
Considering the sheer amount of money they spent on applications I'm surprised

devops.guru isn't ;(
Question is (both, why did i search it, and why was it registered) who preallocated anal.guru?

@TomO'Connor Maybe they reserved certain domains?

@MarkHenderson .. Why?

I'm a little pissed that places like pantek.com were able to get things like linux.guru during sunrise - they sure as hell don't have the trademark.

@MikeyB Interesting

Mmm.

@MDMarra You near?

10:43 PM
fucking fucking fuckshit
I've been staring at that page thinking "why the fuck are all these sunrises so far in the future?"
Fucking American dates. C'mon ICANN. Put them in YYYY-MM-DD format ffs

GO U.S.A.!!!

@MarkHenderson Nobody loves ISODATE

@voretaq7 You know what nobody loves? American dates.

@MarkHenderson I was staring at a food item in the fridge yesterday that said "EXPIRES 13/DEC/14". DAMN YOU AMERICA!

@MarkHenderson You should try going on the gay equivalent of a date some time. They expect everyones clothes to be off within the first 15 minutes.

10:53 PM
@voretaq7 AM I missing out?

@voretaq7 That sounds like a pretty good date to me

@ewwhite @MarkHenderson Not really. It's basically like going out with the slut in high school that everyone slept with so nobody really wants to anymore. Only there's a penis under the clothes instead of a vagina.
oh and the skeevoids get a +10 modifier to VD.

@voretaq7 I heard one of the most offensive jokes I've ever heard the other night
Be quick because it's not going to be in chat for very long

@MarkHenderson I can view deleted messages, that's one of our modlike powers yanno

@voretaq7 Oh yeah

11:02 PM
hah

It's wrong on so many different levels

and seriously: Reason #1 why condoms are not optional boys.

@voretaq7 Woo go safe sex!

awww...

Hm, the sales rep I was going to cut up and throw in the dam has been 'promoted' and is no longer our rep... fancy that...

11:23 PM
@Tanner Failing upwards!

11:57 PM
So.. gates is going to work for Microsoft three days a week
