Q: Postfix and using a VPS

I am just interested in sending emails from a VPS. I am confused as I lack a domain as what to put as: mydestination = myhostname = myorigin = my hostname is 'server' also if theirs anything further i need to configure as to get emails sent from phplist

Am I wrong?
