@qwertyuiop You can eiter e ata banana or sleep with two other people.

the testing, that occured on nice tropical islands, that grow bananas .

@ThatBrazilianGuy Which would you prefer?
3 mammograms a year would exceed the EPA annual limit O-0

Sleeping with 100 people does as much damage to your teeth as an x-ray. Or something.

In fact a single CT scan would be double the limit

@qwertyuiop Well, so far I have already eaten bananas.

12:03 AM
o_0
An average person receives four times the EPA annual radiation limit from medical scans
WAit no I'm reading the picture wrong

@allquixotic OhhhhhohohohoOOOOOOh I get it now

tho hopefully it has the option of being switchable

I'm a cat, I climbed up the pole to read the labels and the firemen lifted me down involuntariy, and that's the picture in my profile.
THAT MAKES SENSE NOW
@RahulBasu Your face is too thin
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No. It's a bunch of New Yorkers who don't know what a mobile transmitter looks like.

@qwertyuiop not sure about that, put them on top of a pole, and plug em in, and it probably works better than my ISPs Wi-fi :-)

12:17 AM
I have no idea what this was meant to be, I just found it randomly in the "Pics I've previously uploaded" folder

@qwertyuiop It's a picture of a joystick

Damn I need to update my KSP before I kill myself
@ThatBrazilianGuy Does that produce force feedback and vibrations?
And intensive self heating?

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) I mean, O.o
I mean, I don't know what you're talking about

Who remembers JMicron SSD controllers and their stutter issues?

12:57 AM
Not I

1:09 AM
superuser.com/questions/365493/… Early SSDs cause stutter, and 5 years later, nothing has changed?
the web seems to indicate that in windows it was due to the power settings allowing various sleepyness, and probably caused by crappy j-micron drivers which hasnt changed in 6 years :-)
I almost bought me one of those Sandisk SSDs (sandisk cool) the j-micron part making it scary, even at the low low prices it sold for.

Bob
Hm. Refurb UX305 (5Y10) at $599

I (often) imagine the layers of BS that people have gone through, once they discover the real issue (any real issues), so freaking sad the losses of time/life. When you read 2-3 Days of thier list of the things they tried. Only to discover that some POS they paid money for was the problem. Oh you can return the hardware/software, but you can never recover the real losses, time.

Q: RegEx match open tags except XHTML self-contained tags

JeffI need to match all of these opening tags: <p> <a href="foo"> But not these: <br /> <hr class="foo" /> I came up with this and wanted to make sure I've got it right. I am only capturing the a-z. <([a-z]+) *[^/]*?> I believe it says: Find a less-than, then Find (and capture) a-z one or ...

Stop trying to summon demons!
Although I suppose you aren't using regex. You might be safe... for now.

@MichaelFrank This is terrifying

2:07 AM
Heh, I'm using an actual HTML parsing library
No demons for now
Though I have rigged up a horror to deal with this JavaScript issue, and it involves running a miniature web browser inside an ASP.NET server process

@JourneymanGeek Actually, the chatbot only uses pjs for auth and some plugins.

@qwertyuiop my face is thin?
For what?

In school if the teacher asks you to write a 500 word essay, but you can only think of a perfect single sentace for the essay, you could just write that sentance using HTML :-) This comes from getting an e-mail that has 2 pages of code and a few sentances strewn about it.

Lol... I wish
But I would just get punished because "you sent me a virus!"

3:18 AM
these are almost viruses, must be some E-mail writer, this one has 15-20 links, all fitting on one page view, the Code (OMG dont look at the code) 27 pages in like a 8pt or less sized font
todays e-mails must come from twitter fans, See our new product LINK, and our old product LINK, and what customers had to say about LINK , link link, See how we can LINK your life better , with our LINK.
SPAM- next. It is actually someone i buy from, but i am not LINKing it.

4:09 AM
SmaetOS?

when i press remove selected in the above image nothing gets removed

@DeNiSkA in my experience, whenever removing malware gets to difficult, a fresh install is the best option

you mean fresh install of malware-bytes?

hi

@DeNiSkA 4000+ items could be it replaces them as fast as you can remove them? I have seen that once from a real virus, jumped into task manager and stopped weird looking items, first, or suspend until the insanity stops first.

4:19 AM
O_O

it is impossible to remove manually 4000+ items

@Psycogeek safe mode could come in handy

@DeNiSkA no, windows

windows.....?

Yep
Backup your stuff, reinstall windows

4:20 AM
If safemode is used it'll stop the virus
on boot press f8
and select safemode

Not in UEFI...

EFI?

after using safemode what should i do?

run a scan

In win 8+, press hold shift while pressing restart

@RahulBasu basically a solaris based OS for running containers on

@Edity 😁
@JourneymanGeek um... containers?

:)

4:23 AM
@RahulBasu basically 'mini' VMs
running on the same kernel
but seperate filesystem
Its more efficient

Oh... nice

yea safe mode is a good idea, likely that the program wont be run automatic there. but if it was still happening, could be the program going crasy could be observed in things like the resource monitor. If it could keep up with it, you could look at what is writing them in the disk section.

4:32 AM
yes

most of any virus (or like) i have ever ended up with was not in anybodys database to being with. as i usually manually scan incomming trash before running it.
so these AV programs become only partly usable.

hehe

5:11 AM

5:27 AM
@Edity no internet connection in safe mode and windows defender and malware bytes not working in safe mode

malwarebytes has a few ways to get started up, the purpose if a virus tried to take it out. it should be able to get going in safe. like Chameleon
go C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\Chameleon\Windows , then run "mbam-chameleon.exe" for example. look at the help file in there for more info
Or just look at the help file (chameleon.chm) and run it via the links in the help file, assuming that is not broken.

5:47 AM
Mine did :)

started up in safe with no extra trouble at all?

yup
windows 7 is the way to go
but in my laptop: windows 10 is better.

Bob
Huh. That's awesome.
Though somewhat questionable business decision :P

@Bob the catch is each game is available for a limited time to be added on

lol

Bob
@Sathya Huh?

6:28 AM
I'm testing the waters with the lx brand on SmartOS to see if I can go there full time again \o/ (@Bob)

@Bob lets say you connect gog. they make a game available to added on, but you have only x days to connect and bring it over to your Gog account
once you have added, it's always there

Bob
Ah :\
@allquixotic Try not to break too much? :P
Hm. Apparently the Edge PDF reader is not included on N.

@Bob haven't tried lx brand before; it's basically a kernel syscall translation layer between Linux and Solaris
oh and it emulates procfs and a few other Linux-specific things
inotify, Linux shmem, all kinds of stuff

Bob
@allquixotic Inverse of SPL? :P

systemd runs on it!

Bob
6:31 AM
lx brand on SPL on Linux? :D

@Bob without wholesale code lifting (which would GPL it; it's CDDL'ed; that would be horrendous) - but yes
@Bob that would be horrific

Bob
@allquixotic Hey, you're talking to the guy who ran some three (four?) levels of nested virt for the hell of it.

@JourneymanGeek Nah, real-mode 16-bit stuff goes on DOSBox :P

that should leave a stain.

Bob
Protected-mode 16-but stuff should still work on Win64.

@Bob "You just need to run an X server outside of bash"

I'm really pissed off right now

Why @RahulBasu

I hate it when every time someone sees my website and goes like 'ho.. you are an illegal hacker'

O_O

I mean wtf
And then there's the bloody media, going around spreading all this f*cked up shit
No one even appreciates dwha a programmer does
I mean seriously, what is up with this world

oh boy

7:03 AM
Sorry for the rant, I'm just angry right now...
We badly need a new term which isn't 'hacker' but means the same thing
Since douche I know goes like 'I won't chat with you because you know programming and will hack my phone'
Seriously?

@RahulBasu ignore and move on

Oh, I do
Sometimes it just pisses you off when it comes from someone who is close to you and to whom you have already explained that you don't do illegal stuff
I mean, how can you possibly be so ignorant?

aren;t you ignorant of somethings?

Um... I guess I am
But I try to keep an open mind and see stuff from the other person's point of view
need to cool down...

what's obvious to you, isn't to others.
nothing to get worked up about

7:12 AM
Hmm... yeah

@RahulBasu it doesn't matter to other people. It's about you

take pride in that they think you're scary, make use of it for your wellness sometime down the road

@RahulBasu may i ask a question, where did it say "your a hacker"?

Thanks guys...

@RahulBasu I think some people are trying to make the term "maker" a thing, though perhaps not so much in tech
@Sathya that sounds... quite painful to use

@Bob maker? I don't really like it...

Ankit Fadia (born 24 May 1985) is an Indian author, speaker, television host, and self-proclaimed "ethical hacker" of computers, whose skills and ethics have been debated. His work mostly involves OS-based tips and tricks, proxy websites and lifestyle. In 2008 he started a television show on MTV India called "What The Hack", which he co-hosted with VJ Jose. In this show Fadia gave tips on how to make good use of the Internet and answered people's technology-related questions. In 2013, Ankit Fadia started a YouTube show Geek On the Loose, in collaboration with PING networks, where he shared technology...

@DavidPostill That's the techy definition, but good luck trying to explain it to a layman. The media has run away with "hacker" to the point where it's more or less unrecoverable for everyday conversation.
