Slideshows on the New York Times website seem to have used some trickery to cause a right-click in Firefox (and IE/Chrome) then "view image" or "copy image" to return a 1 x 1 pixel. The images also won't print.

RTFM!! It tells you what to do in that screen! You have to create a new JAVA_HOME environment variable.
START->control panel->system security->system->advanced system properties->environment variables->New SYSTEM variable
JAVA_HOME
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_07
Save. Restart the install...

in PHP the strings letters cannot be used like in C, you need to use ord() and chr() in order to convert from number to char and vica versa: "a" != 97, but ord("a") == 97.
