Q: How can Pharisees turn someone from God if His grace is irresistible?

LCIIIHow does Calvinism reconcile these words from Jesus along with its doctrine of irresistible grace? Matthew 23:13,15 ESV But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people's faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to ...

Q: How to show that Jesus(pbuh) is not a god to christian friend using Quran as guidance

@TheProphetElisha lol was reaching for the close button...realized it wasn't my site :)
@LCIII no conflict here

@TheProphetElisha Hah. I upvoted it. I'm curious to see what they say.

@waxeagle I made some important edits to my question
it's a brain teaser for me

@LCIII query: Is there an inference or statement in the passage that the person is not already a child of hell?

3:46 PM
@waxeagle The inference to me is when Jesus says "you make them a child of hell." How could the Pharisee make them one if they already are?

@LCIII but that's not what it says. It says you make them twice the child of hell you are. No implication that they aren't already children of hell
remember that the calvinist assumes that "child of hell" is the default state of fallen man

@waxeagle Ah, good point.
Yeah, I assume that too.

To take a more modern example, if a christian missionary was gathering followers, but not actually leading them to Christ, I would say something quite similar to what Jesus said to the Pharisees

4:19 PM
@LCIII interestingly, I actually decided to answer that one, mostly to echo what someone else said. If you are going at interfaith dialog trying to convince a Christian that Jesus isn't God by quoting the Koran, you are barking up the very wrong tree and trying to go about it all wrong.
interfaith dialog is more about trying to make sure both sides understand the other's view
@svidgen my take on Trig's claim was that it was based around actions in the way the discussion was approached. Not sure if that was how he meant it, but that was how I took it.
