Q: Why did Satan tempt Jesus in the desert?

El'endia StarmanIn Matthew 4:1-13 and Luke 4:1-11, Jesus was in the desert for 40 days and tempted by Satan. Of particular interest is the first temptation. Luke 4:3-4 (NLT) 3 Then the devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become a loaf of bread.” 4 But Jesus told him, “...

Q: The majority of regular posters here are Catholic which creates problems for Prot. posters

HelloThe problem is if a Protestant posts a question that the Catholic posters don't agree with or have never heard of before, it seems it is often closed, or a few people comment, and it is discarded. Voting is very biased if most of those voting are Catholic on a Protestant question. I matched 15...

A: How to show that Jesus(pbuh) is not a god to christian friend using Quran as guidance

tepplesTo explain Jesus's divinity or lack thereof to a Christian, you could start by referring to materials produced by Christians for Christians. Jehovah's Witnesses are a Christian denomination with a non-trinitarian interpretation of the Bible, which some other denominations call unorthodox. One of...

@fredsbend I was more referring to the one line I actually liked in that movie
how much would it cost to be done in 3 months?
I don't know, 2 trillion dollars
Will you take a check
or something like that
granted, it was kind of a reuse of the line from Patriot Games
which was even better since it was "will you take a Company check" (being written by the assistant director of the CIA)

I'm not sure a creature like that could fly effectively. Also where would the flapping power come from? There isn't really a hip equivalent for the pecs.
@AJHenderson You didn't care for the movie?

@fredsbend Gluteus maximus maybe?
Or thigh muscles. I forget what those are called. Oh! Quadriceps?

6:29 PM
@fredsbend not hugely, I mean, the entire plot line was kind of Coreny
I think that was the core of the issue for me
of corese I suppose there are probably still some who liked it
ok, I'll stop now, before I give someone a coreonary
(yeah, it's friday)

apparently it has been used in multiple movies

@El'endiaStarman Unless it's going to fly upside down the glutes won't help much. They are on the wrong side. The issue is that the pecs insert into the sternum, which is at the center of the rib cage. Relative to that, the pelvic girdle has no where to insert whatever muscle group would give this creature flapping power. This creature would need a faux rib cage just for this adaptation. There's a reason we don't see this in nature. Previous developments favor further development to the upper limbs.
@AJHenderson I loved the imaginative nature of the story, but I agree the plot was lacking.
