@fredsbend As it so happens, because my name is only three letters, if I told you the generation procedure, you would know my real name. :P

@TRiG I did a long time ago: Timothy Richard Green. I also know you live in Ireland and I'm pretty sure you've mentioned which city. I think you've also mentioned what company you work for too. You better be careful. I might just stop by you flat one day and surprise you.

4:10 AM
@El'endiaStarman LND is the only three letter code I can get out of it. Doesn't look like a name to me, so probably not right. The Starman further confuses things.

@fredsbend How interesting. Why "LND"? The Starman doesn't come from my name; I just picked it because I think it's cool.

My username is nothing like my real name. The "fred" part of it leaves some people thinking that is my real name, I've noticed. That actually kind of bothers me. Mostly because it goes against the intuitive nature of an internet handle. It is one item, not a string of separate items. The handle is what it is because of its letters. Pronounce it as one item.
And when taken seriously, it is me, not a nickname. That is how handles should be used. If someone actual called to me by my handle I would answer just as quickly if by my given name.
El = L
en = N
dia = D with a bit of flair

@fredsbend I'd say the same for my name as well. El'endia, that is. I use it so much online that I consider it to be very much my name.
@fredsbend Oooh, nice idea. Here, I'll generate one from your name (fredsbend): Refsnaire. Or Erfiçe. Or Efrince. Etc...
I think you'll be able to figure out my generation procedure.

@El'endiaStarman I see two ways to pronounce it. I feel a natural pause by the apostrophe so they both start with a Spanish like "el". Then the "endia" feels more natural like en-dia, but I could also see them more slurred together, tending toward end-ia.

@fredsbend The former pronunciation is correct, and in fact is why I put the apostrophe there.

4:21 AM
@El'endiaStarman Oh, I see what you are talking about. Of course a Math major would be perfectly cryptographic about it. I'll figure it out soon enough.

A good friend of mine has the name "Freddie" and a name I generated for him (and used in a story) was "Erfhon".

So being that there are three possible generated names from "fredsbend" I'm guessing that it's not an exact science. The all seem to completely neglect the "bend" part of the name. hmmmmm.
fred = ref
s = s
bend = naire ??????????????
Is your name Lee?
@El'endiaStarman
Seriously, leaving me hanging here ....
Been like 15 minutes.
Which is like 40 hours in internet time.

4:44 AM
@fredsbend Yes indeed!
@fredsbend Sorry, was writing. T'is NaNoWriMo, y'know...

@El'endiaStarman Sweet! So what's with the ending syllables? Do you have a logic there or just a random thing?

@fredsbend Whatever sounds good or cool.

me likey
@El'endiaStarman Ikmos, Kimrah, K'mistoc, Imkastase. There's a few that I just came up with. I bet you can get my name now. I think I like the sound of the last one. A little biology inspired, that one.

5:01 AM
@fredsbend Mike?

Ooh, ooh, ooh! Iimoccido. That's Latin inspired, so the leading i is pronounced as a J. occido is "kill"
@El'endiaStarman yep
But you know what, Iimoccido sounds Japanese. I don't care for it.
Iimatotus is better. Means whole. "That's me baby."
Iimbellator. Means warrior.
Iimdraco. Dragon.
Iimastrus. Masculinized "star"
Iimmater. Literally "Ja' mama."

Q: Are questions on Christian practices off-topic (in light of the patriotic worship question)?

Reluctant_Linux_UserI recently asked this question concerning a Christian practice in the USA associated with July 4th. This is certainly a Christian worship practice - an event within the calendar for certain churches in the USA and I was able to find an article relating to it that was not comical (which seems from...

@DavidStratton Re this comment: I'm sorry, I really couldn't help myself seeing how far down the rabbit hole this guy lives. I know he's been suspended a few times, yet there's been no change in behavior.
I actually came to chat with it to see what other's takes are on his site participation.
I'm just surprised at how ... well .... crazy some people are.

A: Does the bible contain a definitive explanation of morality?

Peter RockThe Bible does not provide a moral theory, rather it provides the doctrine of grace for salvation, such that no person can save themselves through some moral theories or codes. God commands us to do unto the other as you would have done unto yourself. This is not morally consistent. A moralist h...

With some refinement on the logic, there might actually be something quite interesting there.
