So during restarts smokey can miss posts? I wonder if smokey should/could be made into a two part - one to fill the queue with posts, another to do the spam check on the queue - and that's the part which is restarted
@angussidney well yes, the fact is that with new spam domains and keywords appearing every day, we need to think about whether we can reduce the downtime or change the process so it doesn't matter that Smokey is restarting whenever you add something
Yup, if you've already given feedback it doesn't feedback again

@HenryWHHackv2.0 It's recommended and requested that notify commands are made using the squelch syntax (appending a - to the end of the command) to prevent rate-limiting catastrophes.
I need to test different things including posting to a StackExchange site... I read in some questions that we should use MetaSO? should I add a "[Testing]" in the title... so is not taking as spam?
I will delete them after some time, but not sure where can I test my app...
or should I use a spe...
@tripleee should watched keywords be on GH? seems like if it's temporary it could just be written to the blacklist on the one instance and not committed or anything
It's a really cool extension though! Never would've guessed it had such a dark side, too.
It's funny because I filed a bug report with GitHub too and described the issue as "Just try it, the performance issues will stand out so much that I probably don't need to explain them."
It's sort of like that feeling when somebody stops and asks you for directions, then 10 minutes after they walk away you realize you totally gave them the wrong directions.
Completely unrelated to the blacklist request, but related to the directions conversation above:
My directions to someone story: I once had someone step in front of my car while backing out (because...you know, that's the best way to get someone's attention) and ask for directions to "the lake". Well, I don't live by a lake. There is a river somewhat close, but I've never heard it referred to as "the river". She pulled out a map and pointed to the lake and roughly where she thought she was. Turns out..."the lake" was Lake Michigan...and I live 3 hours away from there.
She insisted she was only a few minutes away, but her map didn't have the right street names and that she was meeting family in 30 minutes for a get together. She was in a town with a similar name to one of the Chicago suburbs. She refused to believe me. Absolutely refused.
To the point where I just gave up and gave her quick direction on how to get to Chicago. "Take this interstate to X then get on Interstate Y - be prepared for tolls. Shouldn't take long at all." Then she thanked me and left.
Also I just ran through this vaguely funny scenario where you gave up and snarkily gave her directions to a random puddle, and she followed them. And her family was there.
