12:57 AM
@Lord_Gareth "One-shotting most creatures" - maybe specify via damage? some might consider something like 'sleep' landing to be a one-shot: boom, you're gone.
(in my own lingo I'd consider anything that makes me win if it lands to be a one-shot)

Done
TL;DR damage is terrible

Crusader sounds fun. Is that a ToB class?

Correct
And the only true 'tank' in 3.5
Crusader gives real incentives to be targeted over softer party members

Hehehe. I like how that chain of thought worked out completely accurate.

Starting with debuffs and proceeding into providing healing, locking down an area and dealing respectable damage

1:01 AM
It's a melee class + It sounds fun + It sounds like it doesn't suck -> Must be Tome of Battle
@Lord_Gareth it sounds like they might have taken learning from this directly into 4e
because that's what the fighter and paladin do, and a lot of other defenders

@doppelgreener ToB is often accused of being beta testing for 4e

@Lord_Gareth "accused"? c(:

@doppelgreener I phrased that in the fashion in which the statement is used.

@Metool @RedRiderX y'all are making me wish even more I could play this game
@Lord_Gareth I believe it, haha

@doppelgreener Heh, do you have a higher end Android tablet?
Because emulation can be a thing
Or on PC, I guess

1:08 AM
@RedRiderX i have a PC!
@Metool hm yes i see

Promoting Emulators isn't a problem, promoting copyrighted ROMs or ISOs is.

@Lord_Gareth I like Tome of Battle a lot for what it stands for: some people decided to investigate the question, "what if it is actually bad design to have melee classes automatically suck compared to anything with magic? what if we designed melee classes that didn't?" (or at least, it seems that's at least part of what they were doing)

@doppelgreener I enjoy this concept being applied to 3.5 too
I don't think it is generally a good idea to just have underpowered classes in any game

@trogdor agreed! [sidelong glance at a publisher who shall not be named here]

@doppelgreener Nonsense. You know they will be eventually.

1:14 AM
though I do admit it may be a bit hard to balance some things,... it goes well beyond that point in 3.5 when you compare a non caster class to a caster class

I have a visual image here that I'm sure is not completely new: in place of a golf bag of weapons, someone who has those weapons floating behind them in kinda winged arrays, and has features designed for utilising weapons not in their hands and adapting weaponry to the specific vulnerabilities of their targets.
(Sure would not make a viable class all on its own, I at least know that much from the soulknife)

@doppelgreener Isn't that from an anime? :P

@Miniman no idea, wouldn't be surprised if it was, it fits.

@doppelgreener Pretty sure I've seen something like it, but I don't remember when

(I know Mistogan from Fairy Tail who has a golfbag of magic staves, and Cloud from Final Fantasy Advent Children who has a bike full of swords and a sword full of swords.)

1:18 AM
@doppelgreener WHITE WOOOOOOOOOOLFFFF

@Lord_Gareth i wasn't thinking of that one, but i was wondering if they committed this sin too
(i know that the games aren't really designed to cross them together, and that certain types of characters just win compared to others if you do)

@doppelgreener Mages win everything. Even those things. And yes, even those other things.
The thing is, the powers granted to PC mages start destroying the expectations of the setting at character creation
so even in mage, Mages Win

Some of the earliest WOD questions I took note of here were ones where someone was asking: "So we're playing with Werewolf and Vampire, are the Vampires and Werewolves seriously supposed to be able to do this stuff to each other?" to which the response was "No, they aren't! The werewolves in Vampire and vampires in Werewolf aren't the same as the PC types from each!"

I think the only other splat that can theoretically wade into a conflict of any kind with a mage is a Mummy

(one of those books might not have actually contained the other, idk)

1:22 AM
Which, okay
Mummy?
May be one of the best experiments in RPG design that WW has ever done
nWoD Mummy is a storytelling game about old age
You shamble out of the crypt as a walking god loaded down with XP, power, supernatural advantages, powers spilling out your wrappings left and right
And as the game progresses you weaken gradually w hile still trying to accomplish your goals
Until eventually you cryptify again

@Lord_Gareth wait, what? are you suggesting the setting expects mages to not have X, and then at character creation, mages have X?

@Lord_Gareth What, you become really hard to understand?

@Lord_Gareth that is an excellent sounding experiment

@doppelgreener They don't walk through the implications of X

Could you give me a small example? I'm having a hard time understanding how this could happen.

1:28 AM
@doppelgreener You can make gold at will.

@Lord_Gareth Ok I can see how this would be an issue.
"We need a car." "Goooold!" "We need to get the hell out of here, go halfway around the world, and hide out somewhere remote and lay low for a while." "Gooooooooold!" "We need to bait a dragon into that guy's lair." "GOOOOOOOOLD!"

@doppelgreener Good. Now, here's an example of some crap I can do at character creation
"This reporter is going to publish all of my secrets and get me followed by the press so I can't work any magic. I'm going to use my mastery of Life and Matter to put slivers of rusty iron in her blood"
Don't want to touch her? Space 2 lets you do that from your basement
Actually Space 2 in general is just problematic
Since now all the stuff you do can be done from across the planet

Vampires are challenged by the issue of humanity and hunters by the issue of morality, is there something mages are challenged by? (I'm presuming it won't really stop them being demigods.)

@doppelgreener Hubris
Mages have this problem where they go mad with power and lose their magic
Or they screw up a spell and lose their magic
Or they blast their soul across reality and lose their magic
Or they walk into the Hedge, figure out too late that their magic stopped working, get their soul torn to shreds, and lose their magic
You see a theme

I remember one of the rotes for Virtual Adepts, "Semi-auto CAD/CAM". Lets you combine 2 guns into one, swapping one attribute from the other for each success on your roll. Revolver x machinegun. 2 successes, gets you something pocket-size, with high per-shot damage, high capacity, and full-auto.

1:41 AM
Oh god old mage
Get it away
Back you monster

@Lord_Gareth is it the losing their magic and 90% chance of inflicting horrible death upon themselves?

@doppelgreener Yes!

Oh boy!
@Adeptus Can you continue to do this? (And thus compact a rocket launcher into the revolver/machinegun?)
@Lord_Gareth Do they gain Hubris by using magic?

@doppelgreener Yes/no. Many uses of magic are sins against Wisdom. Hit 0 (out of 10) and you go crazy and lose your magic
Vulgar uses of magic cause Paradox, which can do anything from damage you to summoning your very own custom-built demon spat forth specifically to drag your soul into a great nihilistic void

@doppelgreener Don't know. Depends if a rocket launcher counts as a "gun". I can't remember the exact wording used.

1:54 AM
@Lord_Gareth I'm getting that OWOD "you fail and lose everything you love" vibe pretty strongly.

@doppelgreener nWoD has controls to mitigate these effects. It's very possible to play an ethical, cautious mage
Part of the delicious irony of the game is that no one ever does

I kinda want to play this just to find out.

You want Mage: the Awakening

yes, i will be unlikely to play OWOD

manifests
Quick question for whoever wants to answer
Puzzles and riddles during an adventure. Who's for, who's against

2:07 AM
yes, they can be pretty fun
i am not very practiced at riddles myself but i enjoy a good puzzle
something to consider might be providing an alternate path for the GM who isn't confident their group would enjoy puzzles and/or riddles
"if your group hates this stuff, replace this section of the adventure with this other thing"

nod
any other inputs?

I'll concur with the previous statement. Something White Wolf did very correctly, actually, when designing their pre-mades

also be careful to train the puzzle-solvers well. like portal did. portal is basically a giant tutorial on how to play portal.
demonstration of individual, small ideas, and how they combine, and building up mental cues (box -> button, white wall = portal, jump through = keep moving)

2:29 AM
OMG. A Tarrasque is a Magical beast. That means you can use Wild Empathy on it.

2:43 AM
And now Leeg time

@Adeptus doesn't that require like,... 10 minutes of it not killing you?

2:54 AM
@trogdor Only the one, actually!
And then you wait a day to do it again.

oh ok
still though,.. thats a great opportunity to die
and you need to roll for it too

Hostile -> friendly = DC35. Roll is d20 + level + CHA. At level 20, with CHA bonus of 5, that's a 50/50 chance.
Better odds than most ways of defeating a Tarrasque. Though, you do need to survive for 1 minute...

yeah
that's the thing
a Tarrasque is seriously scary

And even a 25 will shift it to Indifferent, which should stop it attacking at least...

there is not a large abundance of ways to make sure it doesn't kill you for that long
I dunno, aren't they motivated by continual hunger?

3:08 AM
Ack.
Just took down this thing. Why is this thing a thing?
(it's a giant!)

@Adeptus Just fly over its head.

3:24 AM
Aww no, "...can also use this ability to influence a magical beast with an Intelligence score of 1 or 2, but she takes a –4 penalty on the check." A Tarrasque has Int 3. :(

Feeblemind it?

@Magician You could just kill it with Feeblemind

Need suggestions for a Warlock build I'm fiddling with. Right now, I'm pretty sure I'm going Warlock6/Binder1/Swordsage2/Hellfire Warlock3. This may change. DM is allowing Warlocks to qualify for Eldritch Knight's spellcasting requirements (and might allow that form of exception on other classes though I'm not sure if I want to push it).

Racial suggestions are always welcome, right now I'm looking specifically for other class suggestions to add more utility to the mix.
@Miniman And yes, just kill it with Feeblemind.
Or rather, knock it out cold and Coup de Grace it to death.

@Dorian How are you negating the Con loss from Hellfire?

Binder1
:P

3:27 AM
okay, VERY crude and inefficient, but a suitable test
this is a puzzle
of sorts
if anyone would like to try it, have at. imgur.com/JOynHK1

@Dorian I'm completely unfamiliar with Binder, I'll take your word for it

Well, tome of magic. 1st level binder can bind Naberius
which has this nifty ability: "You heal 1 point in each damaged ability score each round, and 1 point in all drained ability scores every hour."

Wow.

you have to make a DC15 check and it lasts for 24 hrs. Well, you don't have to make the check even. you can flub the roll and still get it.
just the personality of the vestige (namely Naberius) will overlap yours more strongly.
Looking for things that Warlock can qualify for that will give nice bonuses and still advance Warlock.
So anything that requires an arcane caster level but does NOT require "casting spells"

That rules out a lot of tasties

3:30 AM
like "ability to cast spells of Nth level" or "ability to cast 7 different divination spells" or "ability to cast mage hand and ghost sound"
As I said, I already got him to allow Eldritch Knight, which requires "the ability to cast 3rd level spells" so I might be able to work something out

Well if you do, Spellwarp Sniper is scarily appropriate for a Warlock

so long as the class doesn't require specific spells, metamagic crap, or focus on enhancing spells.

@afroakuma Any context or additional info?

It is, but it is not. You see, Warlocks get no actual spells to turn into rays.
I would need spells for that :P

Awww, Pathfinder DM won't let me use the Minor Magic rogue talent to learn to cast Pants 3x per day. :(

3:32 AM
@Dorian Yep, but they still get all the benefits to rays

In the River Bend DFAE playtest game, Sheriff Deckard got kicked out of his office and soundly beaten, despite the attempts of Rabbi Israel to intervene. For his troubles, the Rabbi was soundly humiliated in a name-calling fight.

@Adeptus Nope. Trying to figure out if a crude pictogram can convey information given arbitrary qualities.

Classes that specifically enhance your spells won't work.

The puzzle is to glean information from it.
How much doesn't matter so much as what.

@Miniman True but there's far too many abilities that focus on spells taking much away from the class.

3:32 AM
Then Sheriff Deckard went into the Goodnight Mine to find out what was able to defy the people who'd just beat him up, and met a vampire who--in exchange for a drink of his blood--gave him a coin with a demon bound inside it.

@afroakuma Lots of stuff about pi?

Has nothing to do with pi
or pie, sadly.

@BESW nice

@afroakuma So are they purely symbolic? No phonetics?

Meanwhile, Rabbi Israel is spending the Sabbath praying and fasting. He will be given supernatural power to act on behalf of God in ways we have not yet pinned down, but will before the next session.

3:34 AM
@BESW He could just wield the 'power of belief' - like one of the Knights, but without the sword

@Miniman Aye, the playtest contains a generic "Emissary of Power" mantle.

@Miniman I would say yes

However, it's up to us to define the parameters of the Emissary's mantle.

@afroakuma Then, lots of stuff about houses, bowls, (tables?) and 1 wheel

@LessPop_MoreFizz Why the heck not? Also, pity that's a 0th level spell, I'd totally use that for the kobold's rite of draconic passage

3:36 AM
@Dorian hardline on 3pp. (It's okay, I mainly asked as a joke. It'd be largely useless in this particular campaign.)

3pp?

@Dorian 3rd party publishing.

I'm a bit unfamiliar with pathfinder sorry

@Miniman What if I were to ask you the meaning of each symbol?
and suggest to you that the tablet contains sufficient information to figure it out?

aah
my DM has the same rule :(
Which prevented me from another build... because I had ideas from the 3rd party Dark Sun for 3.5... But I didn't know it was 3rd party

3:38 AM
@afroakuma I have vague guesses about some of them, but I'm largely stumped

@Miniman Alright, new clue: The culture that produced this tablet never depicted people with heads.

So, does Eldritch Knight work well with a Glaivelock Warlock/Hellfire Warlock build

First session: WC 0 vs WC 1
Next session: WC 3 vs WC 1.

@afroakuma Sorry, I'm still stuck. I'm better at logic/maths puzzles

3:42 AM
@afroakuma Usually good with these, but I'm clueless.

could be just me, sucking at designing puzzles :P

(Sheriff Deckard took 9 stress in a single attack when he was thrown out of his office: King's men held him while King beat him up. LOTS of invokes being passed around.)

I think more context about where it's found, how it was found, and other things involving it might help though tbh.

@afroakuma Incidentally, there's a Puzzle SE as well if you need it

Relic of an ancient culture, part of their basis of communicating with outsiders
a sort of proto-Rosetta Stone, if you will
found in what was formerly a marketplace

3:45 AM
last symbol is a gate.
the one that looks like a pie
2nd symbol in the bottom line is of course a house

the symbol that looks like Pi was the glyph used to represent a person

i believe the pi looking symbols are people?
ninjad
problem is IDK what direction to 'read' it in

and it is believed that the square indicated construction or togetherness in some way

And whether all the symbols are representative.

is the = sign an = sign? :P

3:48 AM
the = sign is NOT an = sign

dang
was starting to read it as a formula

We've got glyphs on multiple meaning levels: objects and concepts.

or some sort of "these are worth this" for bartering
the semicircle I kind of want to say is a bowl
or ritual item
like a ritual bowl

or a mouth (talking)?

bottom line would read something like "ritual bowl in the house, person and togetherness, conjure gate"
If I were to string it coherently... "People must preform the ritual inside and together to conjure the gate."
got no clue for most of the other symbols

3:51 AM
Second line: Burying a man with soup in a pyramid summons a portal in his tomb.
2

new clue: that is NOT the symbol meaning "gate"
they have a (not depicted) symbol for that
which was also used as the numeral 0

@afroakuma (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻
I give up.

@Magician pretty sure the tarrasque I saw in the Monster Manuel could drag flying things down magically

Third line: In a house far away, watering down the soup summons Mister T.

2nd line is probably the most relevant
one person, two cup/bowl shapes

3:54 AM
@trogdor Now we (royal We) ask which edition we were talking about.

so

3.5

/me takes the thing to local NPC wizard/loremaster/high priest/bard/other lore expert, pays them to solve it.

It's a table of basic arithmetic
the cup sign is a hand // numeral 5

I dunno if they changed that in other editions

3:55 AM
the single square is an "equals" sign

that's a hand?
the square you said was togetherness/construction?
yeah
no
-smh-

Shit. My first thought was that it was their number system, I should've stuck with it.

Take it to loremaster, pay them to solve it.

@trogdor 5e tarrasque was somewhat anemic if you didn't just stand in its path and fight it head-on. Checking 3.5 srd out of curiosity.

The ancient Egyptian Hand (hieroglyph) is an alphabetic hieroglyph with the meaning of "d"; it is also used in the word for 'hand', and actions that are performed, i.e. by the 'way of one's hands', or actions. (Used as a determinative.) == Iconographic usage == Also used in iconography. Pharaoh Den of the 1st Dynasty used the hand as part of his name: "d + n". An even earlier usage of hand can be compared to the sister hieroglyph: Hand-fist (hieroglyph). Five fists are held onto a rope bordering a hunt scene on a predynastic cosmetic palette. The damaged Bull Palette from Hierakonpolis is notable...

3:57 AM
@BESW I was just looking at that, actually

@BESW ಠ_ಠ

afk a bit

Forgive me for not being an expert in heiroglyphs.
Especially when drawn in MSPaint

shrugs
It's my fault
as I said, this was a quick and crudely-drawn test to see if I could devise a non-obtuse version of this puzzle
it did not succeed :P

I'd say you'd be better off drawing something by hand and scanning it in?

3:59 AM
Heh, no, I think I'll step back and reassess the concept of how to do puzzles in the game

@Magician ah ok

@trogdor, nope, 3.5 tarrasque can't deal with flying enemies either, from the looks of it. At least it has regen to be able to ignore them for a while. It can rush 150 feet a round occasionally, but that won't get it high enough if it were to do a high jump, either. Considering it's not even trained in Athletics (or whatever was used back in the day).

so what the crap is the = sign then

@afroakuma Oddly enough, less concrete puzzles seem to work more effectively in RPGs

@Magician odd, pretty sure I remembered it having a way of dealing with flying stuff

4:00 AM
@Miniman "Less concrete?" Clarify

must have been some other creature

Need to find fellow warlocks... >.>

@afroakuma For example, a problem like this causes lots of discussion and attempts to utilise available resources
(Not necessarily a great example, but it was there)

ah, I see.

@BESW awesoooome
tell me how it goes

4:02 AM
@Miniman oooh that's a good one. of course, depending on level easily surmountable...
make it magic lava, or something even worse.

@Dorian Yep, puzzles of any kind are really only feasible at low levels of magic

or "mysterious liquid" that acts as an antimagic field towards anything cast at it, and dissolves pretty much everything you stick in it.

@Dorian How is that solvable?

tunnel beneath, divert the course of the stream somehow.
that's about it I think
or find something that doesn't dissolve in it.
or at least dissolves slowly enough to work
(hint, try starmetal :P)
lol

let Dumbledore drink it :P

4:05 AM
@afroakuma punches afroakuma

is metaphysical, cannot be punched

If the stream cannot be tunneled under to be drained, or diverted from its course somehow, there might be a way to turn it off or an item in the dungeon resistant to the stream.

@afroakuma - @BESW ran a game of D&D 4e that went into epic tier and involved occasional puzzles. during epic tier they got so good that IIRC his preferred method to challenge them was to give them something he thought was pretty much impossible, then let them figure something out that solved it anyway.

eat ghost touch b----

mm

4:07 AM
ghost touch spiked gauntlets

see, I like puzzles
but then, I hate being a player
so

better yet, shadow striking spiked gauntlets

I like puzzles AND being a player!

I love being a player. I also love being a creator. I hate being a DM though.
Like, when I build my castle I wanna play in it!
lol

is outside the context of your ruleset, cannot be fed gauntlets
see I exclusively like to DM

4:08 AM
but yeah, in an RPG, a puzzle that proposes a difficult situation and just requires ingenuity in figuring out how to use it to solve it using available resources should work pretty well. that way when someone says "I use this spell to break through the wall and reach the doodad!", the GM doesn't go "no you're doing it wrong!", they go "hooray you solved it!"
and thus there's no need to work around inventive methods of solving the puzzle, like, say, a spell which makes any writing automatically make perfect sense to the reader. "I cast this spell, so what's the tablet say?" "You're meant to solve it yourself!" "I did, I cast that spell. What's it say?"

@afroakuma ...you're not a rust monster, then?

@afroakuma Do you really want me to overcomplicated this d--- swinging contest with my real world experience dealing with the metaphysical, overabundant imagination, and extensive experience with freeform forum roleplaying and GMing?

Don't believe so, no :P

@afroakuma Or would you rather just take the singular punch you know you deserve and take it like a man?

@Dorian I always read 'freeform forum roleplaying' as 'inserting a live pufferfish into my own rectum'.

4:11 AM
@Dorian Being metaphysical, I don't do anything "like a man."

@Miniman If it is done responsibly and sensibly it usually turns out pretty fun.

there's a roleplaying group called Blue Dwarf which does freeform mailing-list RP, and it works out pretty well
they're a ship sent out to find the Red Dwarf

@Dorian I suspect the pufferfish may not agree.
2

scenarios are devised by individual members, and other players roleplay in those scenarios, with mainly the member who devised the scenario pushing it forward

doppelgreener: if I were going to use a tablet puzzle like that, I'd go all Darmok on it

4:13 AM
@Magician Sitting at my desk at work and I can't stop laughing at this.

"Comprehend Languages tells me that it says... Darmok and Jilad at Tanagra. QUICKLY, TO TANAGRA. WE MUST STOP DARMOK AND JILAD"
5
Anyway, thank you to everyone who helped me evaluate that

@afroakuma Dorian phases into the 10th dimension, encompassing all things, and slaps AfroAkuma with a god-eating anchor which can unravel and reassemble space, time, and existence altogether. The anchor stops any and all abilities AfroAkuma has beyond human and forces him into a singular physical realm allowing Dorian to place a "Kick Me" sign on his back, swiftly kick him in the rear, and then proceeds to remove the anchor and leave AfroAkuma to his own devices, though now thoroughly physical

@Dorian Classic example of everything wrong with inserting a live pufferfish into my own rectum freeform forum roleplaying.

casually watches the dream trap devour Dorian's mind with visions of some happier alternate reality

There, combined freeform rp godmoding and powerplaying, theoretical science, and just general douchebaggery.
@Miniman The only time freeform forum roleplaying becomes like that is if you get immature people that don't know how to play respectably. Which frequently happens when there are no moderators.

4:19 AM
You're a very odd fellow.

The stuff I typically worked in was the heavily moderated stuff. No, it wasn't traditional in that you didn't wait for mod response every post, but the mods were expected to read EVERY post and step in if necessary.
@afroakuma I didn't even get into the Pagan/New Age knowledge, the mythology, or the fiddling with merging alternate realities with the current reality. Nor did I touch on the Cthulhu worthy dreams I have every night.

@Dorian I have no idea why you're telling me this

I grew up with severe night terrors, but have yet to have a dream I was scared in, and these dreams jaded me terribly, horror movies don't scare me, and never have. Psycho thrillers excite me a bit though, they get me thinking.
I'm rambling, because I need something to occupy me which requires little thinking since I'm getting a little bored thinking about my warlock build with noone to discuss it with.
Oddly enough, I can continue to read my books while typing this, and continue thinking how the particular classes would intermesh and how I would play the chara, while talking about all this crap.

Reading up, I don't know if I was supposed to register a passive-aggressive insult somewhere in that whole mix.

4:24 AM
I think it might have been triggered by the, "You're a very odd fellow" comment, O Dread Lord.

Would have preceded that.
In any event, moving on.

Also thinking about the following simultaneously: what quest I want to take first this time in dragon age origins, whether I want to play HALO or not, or prototype, what I want to get for food shopping, whether I should buy nicknacks for my office desk, how the heck am I going to reliably kill invading crickets without choking myself with bug spray, and whether this friend who I want to hang with will ever stop flaking out on me.
My brain is like an internet browser with hundreds of tabs, all with videos and music and etc playing, all visible simultaneously, and NEVER BEING ABLE TO CLOSE ANY OF THEM

@Lord_Gareth I've been going back and forth between the two major concept files and I just don't feel an attachment to either of them anymore
Not sure if it's time to rebuild or start over

@afroakuma I'm listening

It's kind of fun, it's also annoying as all heck sometimes.

4:27 AM
No, that was pretty much it.

Is there anyone who is familiar with Warlocks and how to build them..?

I think my issue is that I'm the kind of person who prefers to design downward and I didn't do that this time.

Well, assuming for a moment that you're talking about the thing I think you're talking about, you've got time. The bossman has...distracted himself...with certain matters that I must help resolve. Or, rather, that I have been asked to help resolve.

I am talking about that, yes

Then you have time to do as you feel best.
The boss has learned a very painful lesson in getting things done right versus getting them done quickly

4:29 AM
@Dorian Have you considered a larger forum? GiantITP still has an extremely active 3.5 section
@Lord_Gareth I still need to run with the right concept, though. And by definition I'm out of inspiration on this particular issue

@afroakuma Understood. Did you still have thoughts on the Hindu-inspired one? That might actually dovetail with something else DSP is doing.

Ehh

Akashic Mysteries, the new Incarnum thing, picked up a major "Silk Road" theme

I remember all of them

Well, I'm available any time. Email, chat. Phone call. Smoke signals. Patterns of murders on a map.

4:34 AM
indeed
anyway, I'm off for the evening. If you need me, I'll be where I usually am. Darkness comma the. :P

@afroakuma Haven't tried a forum. I feel like chats work better for brainstorming. Forums, I usually get a reply when I'm not in a thinking mood lol

I need to briefly rant about something: this building's elevators.
The buttons do two things when you press them: they light up, and they make a 'beep'.
The buttons are large, and have two things on the face: dominating most of it, a number. At the bottom, a small line of braille.

@doppelgreener The braille should say - 'The sighted fools don't know that this button does nothing!'

The problem is this: the beep, and the light-up, can be triggered separately. If you push the top of the button, you can get it to light up without triggering the beep. If you push the bottom of the button, you can get it to beep without lighting it up.
The button only works if it lights up.

@doppelgreener that is hilarious
Someone is seriously trolling blind people! XD
Yes, I know I'm going to Hell for finding this funny. And I have no qualms about that.

You might see the implications here for blind people: they will reach for the button, read the braille, and push the braille. The button will then make a satisfactory 'beep', and then the doors will close... and then the lift will take them anywhere it wants to where someone is actually calling the lift, because they didn't push the button properly.
@Dorian Yes, this is major levels of trolling.

Do you mind if I turn that into a copypasta?

You may turn that into a copypasta.
Would you mind sharing it with me when you're done so I can see your rendition of it? :D
(I care not a jot for whether I am associated with this, mainly since any effort to attribution might get in the way of it just being funny)
