The STV system is not easy to compute as a human, but the concept is easy to explain (it needs a computer to calulate). The simple human explanation is: You have 1 vote, but only the part of your vote that's needed to elect someone is used. Once that candidate is elected, the remainder of your vote goes to your second choice candidate, and so on, until your full vote is consumed.
Apr 27, 2021 20:45
@SimonForsberg "Even though @SᴀᴍOnᴇᴌᴀ was the first to get elected, @Peilonrayz did get more votes in the end from all of the transfers." ... That's not really representative of how it works - Sam got the vast majority of the votes, but they were not needed to elect him, so they got taken away .... and given to the candidates that were 2nd/3rd/4th choices for the position.

... Election closes in 2 minutes. ...
Apr 19, 2021 15:56
Was any reason given for Thomas Ward's withdrawal?

@pacmaninbw Yup, I saw (and removed my comment earlier)

@pacmaninbw Have a boat, but it's not yet in the water this season. There was ice on the water just last week.
Apr 4, 2021 16:54
I only really check out the late answers/low quality posts, as well as the reopen review queue though..... ... well, more specifically, I tend to avoid the close-vote queue, it's more time-consuming, and available to low-rep users.
Apr 4, 2021 16:52
@pacmaninbw I have been in the queues pretty much every day, I think I have missed 3 days or something in the past few years.

You have to be cognizant of the Node event loop, but when you get the async nature of how to use Node, it's remarkably powerful.... like, crazy easy to do powerful things
Apr 4, 2021 16:31
Typescript is OK, but we mostly stick to native Javascript in Node - legacy reasons.
Apr 4, 2021 16:31
Don't dismiss Node/Express. It's my primrary language for almost all our work-work.
Apr 4, 2021 16:30
At least the Modbus Go library I can opensource.
Apr 4, 2021 16:30
Well, I have to implement the Modbus protocol on the SAMD20 in order to have communications with IOT-type applications, a Modbus Go library as well.
Apr 4, 2021 16:28
There's something bizarre about programming for the SAMD20 Cortex M0, windows PC, and "large scale" Cloud applications at the same time.
Apr 4, 2021 16:27
Heh, I have been getting "breadth" recently, currently programming in embedded C, Go, and Javascript.....
Apr 4, 2021 16:24
But, Yeah, it's good to be back in the 2nd monitor.

Apr 4, 2021 16:24
Yup, been around on the main site, just not on chat. I still check in every day.
Apr 4, 2021 16:23
Things are always changing..... which at least, is somewhat comforting.

Apr 23, 2020 19:27
And..... back again.
Apr 23, 2020 19:26
Stack overflow offline as well... nothing in the planned maintenance page. Ooops...
Apr 23, 2020 19:25
Code review's down for me..... :( Now it shows a maintenance page... Guess I'll hang out here ;-)
Feb 8, 2020 02:16
Restart is hopefully multiplayer. It does not really indicate whether it is, or not, though
Feb 8, 2020 02:13
Actually, I'll save, upgrade, and restart.
Feb 8, 2020 02:13
@SimonForsberg - the factorio game is still active. Shift-space to unpause. I added an extension to a couple of things, but it's looking for the next step. Feel free to pick it up some more. Still 0.18.3 though
Feb 2, 2020 19:15
Woot... man, I miss account annotations tool. That's right. the robo-review.
Feb 2, 2020 19:13
IIRC, an apology and a promise.
Feb 2, 2020 19:12
I can't remember all the details, but it was messy.
Feb 2, 2020 19:12
@Vogel612 I was ..... I know. I am fully aware that there was some water under that bridge.
Feb 2, 2020 19:08
@Vogel612 Should I claim mod-abuse since you deleted my comment too ;-)
Feb 1, 2020 18:27
On my way, will need a few minutes to get my stuff together, on a differnt PC, not wmy work laptop.
Feb 1, 2020 18:25
Heck, let's do this.... discord?
Feb 1, 2020 18:24
Comments that have generally inflammatory meanings, while not targeting anyone in particular, are just people tying to get a rise out of a situation. without committing to any particular perspective, so they can later deny it. Also, some people consider it to be cowardly. ;-) — rolfl 1 min ago

Decided that I am not a moderator, so don't have to be as polite as I normally would, and also I just thought I would play with him, if he notices....
Feb 1, 2020 18:21
The timezones will be the problem.... Probably not going to be able to organize useful blocks of time with any regularity.
Feb 1, 2020 18:20
Your mods can be added when we get heavy on far-away networks?
Feb 1, 2020 18:20
Modded with some convenience mods - squeak through, and warehousing? For big bases I like LTN , but that's optional, and can be added later.
Feb 1, 2020 18:18
We should start up a game.... you're not asleep yet, right? Got time?
Feb 1, 2020 18:17
The base is "awesome" though.... 1.5 Rockets per minute, running 20GW nuclear electrical.
Feb 1, 2020 18:17
I don't remember getting a notification that your module was disabled... but really, I did not get far enough in to check, or care.
Feb 1, 2020 18:16
I figured I woud wait a couple more weeks before trying again.
Feb 1, 2020 18:15
Well, I had 20 or so modules, and some of th emore critical ones I use were not upgraded (like Power Armour MK4) .... so I lost all my "Mechanical walkers", and extra inventory, so I spewed all my inventory all over the floor when the game loaded. The advanced radars all disappeared, so the map went dark, and my Super-charged power poles disappeared as well, so the electrical grid was broken everywhere.
Feb 1, 2020 18:13
Too many modules had not been upgraded to work (yours had, IIRC, so thanks).
Feb 1, 2020 18:13
Yeah, I upgraded my most recent mega-base using it. Hoping the advertised performance-improvements will bump up my FPS.
Feb 1, 2020 18:12
;-)
Feb 1, 2020 18:02
Hard for me to respond to it, or decide whether I should even respond, if I don't know what it's trying to say....
