I still need to try the classnames library and compare it with my makeUseClasses hook to see what the differences are. I'll try it in the next project.

If there is a way to automatically add a class with @svgr/webpack that would be great, but since the Icon component is very simple, we wouldn't gain much from doing it that way, so I don't think this is a big deal. Now, if there isn't a way to automatically add that class, then doing it the way I'm doing by using the Icon component is simpler since it doesn't require us to have to add the class manually everytime we need to instantiate the Svg component.

@Martin The blinking animation and sound get out of sync pretty quickly in the browsers/platforms I've been able to test. It took about a minute for the animation to get totally out of phase with the sound while testing on Chrome and Firefox on both Windows and Android. I also tested it on Safari/iPhone and it took about the same time.

Anyway, these are just some things I thought about while reading your answer. Would love to hear what you think.

Another thing, I'm not sure classnames does the same thing I'm doing with makeUseClass. You must have seen there's a bit of initial configuration I do in useClass.ts files. There's some stuff in there about ordering and mutually exclusive groups. I might be wrong though, and all of this is also possible with classnames library.

But I also think there's probably a better way.

The reason for having the Icon component was so that I wouldn't have to add className="icon" to every instance of Svg.

@Martin I don't think it makes sense to do the blinking animation with css. It eventually gets ouf ot sync with the alarm sound.
