Greetings,
Jan 8, 2014 13:16
See ya! ( I might hop in here sometiem soon)
Jan 8, 2014 13:16
Anyway, for now: Thanks for all the suggestions and links and explanations. I will be off to eat lunch and do other stuff.
Jan 8, 2014 13:15
Roll..for..Shoes?
Jan 8, 2014 13:14
Thanks, I've put all the Fate links I got here into it's own little map to read through later today :-).
Jan 8, 2014 13:13
hmm, seems more like what I'm looking for I think.
Jan 8, 2014 13:09
I'm assuming Fate goes better with 'a bit more roleplay, a bit less roll-play' than d&d ?
Jan 8, 2014 13:09
@BESW I'm atm in the 'Disillusioned with D&D-mode'.
Jan 8, 2014 13:07
Thanks for the links. I'll look at the fate site and read the fate explanation later today, most likely in the evening. I've been wondering what other kinds of RPG's are out there since I'm fed up with certain aspects about d&d 3.5, and honestly the one 4E campaign I briefly played just....wasn't for me.

Jan 8, 2014 13:01
Ah, what system do you use for small groups? I honestly haven't really played anything besides d&d 3.5 for table top roleplaying games.
Jan 8, 2014 12:58
@BESW Ah, scheduling is a bitch. I always ask people if there might be a specific day in the week/month that they can keep open for sessions, but with some people it just doesn't work.
Jan 8, 2014 12:56
Things here tend to break up during the summer when people go on vacations and such.
Jan 8, 2014 12:55
Ah, that's a shame.
Jan 8, 2014 12:54
@Zachiel yes, the standard lizardfolk.
Jan 8, 2014 12:53
@BESW I'm not sure if it has a name, but it isn't the large-sized one, nor the small-sized one, just a medium-sized lizardfolk. Hasn't really got anything special.
Jan 8, 2014 12:51
In that case, I'll just let the DM rule whatever he thinks is appropriate. (Namely a lizardfolk monk thing).
Jan 8, 2014 12:50
Yeah 3.5.
Jan 8, 2014 12:50
I've been looking around at the answered questions about natural attacks combining with other forms of attack (manufactured, monk), and it seems to me I can get two totally different answers that both seem well supported.
Jan 8, 2014 12:48
That didn't come out well, I ofcourse meant: Yo!

YO
Nov 14, 2013 19:35
Alrighty, I'm done for now I think. Thanks for the tips and help!
Nov 14, 2013 19:29
Magic Item Compendium has a nice list, no?
Nov 14, 2013 19:29
It's time for me to check the list of possible weapon enchantments.
Nov 14, 2013 19:29
Hmm, would keep the random spirit alive, indeed.
Nov 14, 2013 19:24
On a different note, they are looking for a CG magical weapon to beat some evil guy, but I was thinking of giving the weapon a drawback like: 'make a DC x wisdom check' or the weapon changes shape to a different type of weapon. It will be used in their boss battle so I'm not sure if this would be the right way to go about it, and nto sure about the DC.
Nov 14, 2013 19:17
At the moment the party will finish their main quest, and I'm not sure how the party ...uhm...makeup will change, but I'm assuming this deck will be the first thing they will chase after.
Nov 14, 2013 19:15
Ah, only 1 use? That's perfect.
Nov 14, 2013 19:11
I can't find the 4e domt right now, but I'll look into it later. As long as it isn't game-breaking I'd say its good. The character will be forced to draw from the deck (needs to find the deck and draw from it, as payback for some divine intervention from Olidammara), and perhaps it will disappear after being used to avoid any more deck-misuse.
Nov 14, 2013 18:59
aaaah
Nov 14, 2013 18:59
4e domt?
Nov 14, 2013 18:56
Thanks for the tip.
Nov 14, 2013 18:56
Some of the wonder things are pretty nice for a nerfed deck as well, like reducing someone to half height.
Nov 14, 2013 18:55
Hmmm....
Nov 14, 2013 18:54
I'll look into that.
Nov 14, 2013 18:54
hmm, isn't that the thing that uses a dice roll with absurd effects?
Nov 14, 2013 18:52
Hmm, I've been wondering about a somewhat nerfed version of the 'Deck of Many Things', anyone got any ideas for that? It's for a sidequest for a cleric of Olidammara, and the party lvl is just below 9 at the moment.
Nov 14, 2013 18:49
I feel overwhelmed by the greetings :P Usually I come here, ask a question for inspiration about stuff regarding d&d, and leave again :P.
Nov 14, 2013 18:48
yo
Sep 16, 2013 19:01
In that case, it's fine.

Anyway, I think I'll just discuss some options with the player in question. See what direction he wants to go with. Think ''Evil family experimented with him while he was a baby'' - kind of thing.
Sep 16, 2013 18:57
Hmm....my @*name* things don't become orange.....
Sep 16, 2013 18:57
@Zachiel I found a forum thread about that, not what I'm looking for, but interesting nonetheless.
@GamerJosh , while cool, nope.

I believe it was something a non-mage could also 'suffer' from.
Sep 16, 2013 18:39
Thanks for your help anyway.
Sep 16, 2013 18:39
Okay, I checked it out in Libris Mortis. Mother Cyst. Unfortunately (while cool), it's not what I'm looking for, although it's close. The cyst part at least seemed about alright. But as far as I can recall it was something that grew with the character as he gained levels (I could be mistaken here). But if this is all that turns up here this evening, I will probably modify the cyst for the game i'm running.
Sep 16, 2013 18:33
I'll check it out (searches book stash).
Sep 16, 2013 18:28
I think it was more like some kind of affliction to a character
Sep 16, 2013 18:28
hmm...i'm not sure
Sep 16, 2013 18:08
Greeting everyone,

I come here with (yet) another question! I'm looking for a D&D 3.5 mechanic I once saw somewhere. I remember reading about some seed of evil or a seed of corruption or whatever somewhere. I don't recall if it's homebrew, or official, I just know that it had stages that had several positive and negative side effects, until (I think, at least), in the end the character afflicted by this DIES.

Now, if there's anyone who can point me in the right direction (sourcebook?) or can remember anything about this, I would be grateful (not that you can buy anything with gratitude th

Okay thanks for the tips guys, I'm signing off now.
