Hello everyone. I have a small issue with answering questions here. I will post a solution to a code golf in the coming hours. However, the solution in the particular platform and language can be made differently (in terms of looks), although I suspect the implementation of both to be very similar (the only thing I would need to effectively change would be the output functions and some variables).
How would I deal with this? Should I post both answers or just merge the other (possible) implementation with my current (but as of yet unpublished) answer?
Can results given by netstat and tracert have different names although they might point to the same addresses (possibly due to the way they resolve DNS names)?
@Boris_yo Well... If a program can access basic BIOS functions, then it could be done. I'm not sure but there might be some device vendors that made some sort of hybrid BIOS (they could be accessed from within Windows) and that could allow scheduling power on the PC. But this might be a fairy tale.
Yes, that's what I was planning to do, but in Python. The script makes a small backup file that I only need to backup every Sunday as I open my user account.
No problem. After searching, I think my best bet is to redo my CMD script to a Python script and start if off there. (P.S.: I know about the extended support ending, I just like to use XP better)
@bob I should have mentioned I had Windows XP in the question, as later versions have "beefed up" the Task Scheduler. In my system, I don't see that option.
I'm having a slight problem scheduling a task in Windows. I've set up a script to run every Sunday at 9 AM, however the script doesn't seem to have run. I'm supposing the computer has to be ON for this to happen. If this is true, how could I set up the task as to run after 9 AM (i.e. when I turn on the computer) but still once a week?
@Bob After you have remembered me about the desktop.ini file, I started searching, I found [this](http://superuser.com/questions/27990/what-is-the-purpose-of-the-desktop-ini-file-in-windows-and-how-can-i-keep-it-f/27993#27993), so I guess you're right after all. Still, the way things are now, it is still a little messed up, so I'm doomed to resort to backups. Doomed, I tell you. Well, all of you have a good day, I'm going to repair what isn't broken.
@somequixotic yeah, I did find that out eventually; it does bother me a little to go into about:config. They gave some relatively interesting reasons for why they did it, though. Thanks.
@Jacob sure, here it is. The change caught me blindly, more so because Google doesn't advertise (as far as I' aware of) these sort of changes to the UI.
It is also referenced here at http://searchengineland.com/google-launch-new-search-results-design-larger-fonts-underlines-soon-185724 , where both interfaces are shown.
UI are almost always a personal preference & liking situation, but honestly, where as the old interface the terms in bold were sufficiently distinctive from the rest of the text, with the new increased height font, it makes for reading results somewhat nauseating, as there…
Hello all (who eventually will read this post). Has anyone noticed the new Google search interface?
If so, has anyone devised a way to restore the old interface back. I know this is probably a quite moronic request (as if, if I noticed it only at 3 AM UTC today, no one has thought about it much...), but honestly, I like the old interface better. I feel it being less clunkier and, to be honest, more in tune with my good old 10-year PC.
I read it. Best thing I could say to you was to check startup files and msconfig. That particular problem was quite common on my old secondary school, because all computers were installed from within a network. Don't know how it relates to a home user.
Like I said, your original question is misleading. With this solved, post another question detailing all this you have said. The problem might not be registry related.
That being said, the problem might not even have to do with registry settings. Had you any reason to suspect that? If not, why not post another question detailing your real problem. It might attract people that might know a way to solve it. Also relevant is whether it only happens with that MATLAB .msi or everything in general.
