Depends what you mean by "a lot"
Jan 16 14:33
Why would visual novels be incompatible, it'll be games that use weird graphical quirks or the IR sensor which it looks like the new joycons don't have
Dec 7, 2024 23:27
I realised that if you work backwards from the end of the list instead it cuts the options way down, for example you can only have multiplied if you've got a multiple at the end, or have concatenated if the result ends in the last number of the list
Dec 7, 2024 17:21
@MBraedley Todays? I just got it down to .8s
Dec 6, 2024 14:06
@SPArcheon-onstrike Oh joy
Dec 5, 2024 16:32
I didn't even think of that as an option until part 2 basically told me to
Dec 4, 2024 16:56
My favourite

I literally don't know anything about modern python, I tried to look up some stuff but I could only find blog posts seemingly written by people who learned to program a few weeks ago
Nov 26, 2024 15:36
I'm thinking I should use this year to learn some actually up to date python, I've not worked on any python that's newer than 5 years
Nov 19, 2024 00:31
I'm not sure if there's a permalink somewhere though

Is it a good idea as the enemy to camp the exit rather than just destroying it? Surely if you're just sitting there you're not contributing that much
Jul 24, 2024 13:06
Ah for some reason I read it as something you do every time you die
Jul 24, 2024 10:58
@Unionhawk Clearly the strategy has changed significantly since I played this game, why don't you want people taking your teleporter?
Jul 1, 2024 16:56
@Wipqozn Previously they've had a separate deadline for newly released games, presumably because there's fewer of them they can work through the submissions faster
May 16, 2024 14:38
It'd be more accurate for them to be dressed as farmers
May 16, 2024 14:37
It's sort of true, the reason ninjas wear black is because they're disguised as stagehands, so they can just appear on stage without the audience seeing them
May 16, 2024 14:22
I never know how I feel about criticisms that are basically just "I wanted a different game"
May 16, 2024 14:17
Nobunaga cancelled?!
May 16, 2024 14:16
Yeah I wasn't suggesting you were one of these fools
May 16, 2024 14:14
@SPArcheon Could you imagine how bad it would feel to play that game though?
May 16, 2024 14:14
Pretty much all historical fiction is historically inspired rather than historically accurate anyway
May 16, 2024 14:10
Next people will be claiming there's no such thing as magic DNA memories
Mar 19, 2024 16:44
Yeah. The CDI games are not good. But the fact that Arzette has taken the aesthetic and gameplay and made it work in a way that feels super faithful even though it's obviously not
Mar 19, 2024 15:38
@Fredy31 A streamer I was watching was saying it's funny because it tricks you into thinking the CDI games might have actually been good and you should give them another chance
Mar 7, 2024 14:30
It's not quite real because the actual ones are dubbed, but yeah it's wild that they did that
Feb 29, 2024 13:22
@SPArcheon They're not translating the trailer in isolation though, those are lines from the game. Just because that info isn't in the exact same line in the japanese version doesn't mean it's not in the game. For pacing reasons maybe it's 30 seconds earlier in the japanese script or something
Feb 22, 2024 17:21
I really hate it when people talk about game dev problems and just make stuff up based on not understanding how anything works
Feb 22, 2024 17:21
I also hear there's a swamp that crashes the game or something?
Feb 22, 2024 17:20
Oh yeah probably
Feb 22, 2024 17:18
Ah yeah, I was just looking at the title of the video, my bad
Feb 22, 2024 17:17
The frame rate is about how often the screen refreshes, not any individual actor updates state
Feb 22, 2024 17:17
Also I wouldn't call it a "frame rate issue"
Feb 22, 2024 17:17
I haven't watched the video, I'm just saying that multiple animations playing at different rates doesn't mean the game is lagging or anything
Feb 22, 2024 16:52
Also for things in the background
Feb 22, 2024 16:51
Variable frame rate animations is a pretty common optimisation, lots of games use it depending on how important the animation is
Feb 16, 2024 14:25
That doesn't make sense for how Gallar works though
Feb 16, 2024 14:24
I liked the rational they used in the red youtube series where gyms changed the challenge based on how many badges the challenger has
Feb 14, 2024 14:52
It could also just have a time burned into the disk and use the system clock to check
Feb 14, 2024 14:29
I'm trying to work out what that's referencing, I know it's not but the only thing I can think is MGS
Feb 14, 2024 14:01
Sephiroth loses his shirt for some reason
Jan 26, 2024 16:31
The policy says it does need to be necessary right?
Jan 24, 2024 17:30
That's a much less antagonistic way of phrasing it, thanks @Yuuki
Jan 24, 2024 17:28
Your two options are improve people's media literacy and empathy, or never include minorities in american media
Jan 24, 2024 17:22
@SPArcheon Assuming that this versions is still being made by Pixar, an american company
Jan 24, 2024 17:18
@SPArcheon Yeah, but describe this "any child and any mom" without just saying the story would have been better if all the characters were americans
Jan 24, 2024 17:15
What do you mean then?
Jan 24, 2024 17:14
@SPArcheon By generic you mean american though
Jan 24, 2024 17:08
I think that gets the development of the story the wrong way around, I don't think they were wanting to tell a generational divide story and decided to use a first/second generation asian immigrant family. But rather they want to tell a story about their experience growing up as a second generation asian immigrant. Which becomes a story about generational divides
Jan 24, 2024 16:35
Yup. I remember us talking about it being great and people struggling with basic storytelling techniques
