Wonder how much prices are going to increase due to shortages and no increase in worker pay.
Jul 13 15:23
I am not much for conspiracy theories, but wow, the video that was released raises some issues. Though to be fair, they could have also done it in order to distract from something else, and there is actually nothing there.

Well I am now firmly on team Epstein didn’t kill himself after the mistakes they made in this release.

Let’s break it down:

1) This 10 hour video does not show Epstein’s cell.

It is across the entire hall from Epstein’s section.

We can see that in the attached image.

Reading that the White House had a 9 AM signing ceremony planned, and that they have delayed it until 5 PM
Jul 2 21:10
Wait, that isn't the final vote, just another amendment, which would mean it would be required to go back to the Senate again.
Jul 2 21:08
Always wonder what the point of the vote timer is if they let it sit at zero for hours before closing it when they want votes to change.
Jul 2 21:07
Looks like the vote is currently 216-212 with four Republicans not voting yet. The time to vote is showing as expired, and I am not sure what is happening.
Jul 2 13:51
They still have bans, just different ones
Jul 2 13:51
> It was in effect until 1973, when the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion nationwide nullified it. Legislators never officially repealed the ban, however, and conservatives argued that the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2022 decision to overturn Roe reactivated it.
Jul 2 13:51
> The Wisconsin Supreme Court’s liberal majority struck down the state’s 176-year-old abortion ban on Wednesday, ruling 4-3 that it was superseded by newer state laws regulating the procedure, including statutes that criminalize abortions only after a fetus can survive outside the womb.
Jul 2 13:50
The headline sounds better than it is.
Jul 1 16:17
And if I am looking at this right, it failed 212-216 in a vote about 8 minutes before that
Jul 1 16:15
It passed 215-214 in the house the first time around
Jul 1 16:14
@User1865345 It was a close vote before, and some claim to have regretted their votes, so it will be hard to say. That being said, I don't see it not passing.
Jul 1 16:12
> — Megabill goes to House Rules: Assuming the Senate passes the bill, the House is expected to bring the bill to the Rules Committee at noon Tuesday, though two people with direct knowledge of the plans say it could get pushed amid delays with the Senate vote-a-rama.
Jul 1 16:12
We will see what happens when it goes back to the house
Jul 1 16:11
Yep, because she got what she wanted
Jul 1 16:11
It seems that they made deals with some senators to carve out exemptions for their states in order to secure the votes.
Jul 1 16:11
> Just moments ago, the Senate parliamentarian ruled that proposed SNAP carve-outs for an expanded list of states including Alaska are compliant with the Byrd rule. But the parliamentarian ruled a provision that would have boosted federal payments for Medicaid in Alaska and four other states is noncompliant, according to a person granted anonymity to share the decision.
Jul 1 16:10
Just criminal
Jul 1 16:05
Well Vance just broke the tie
Jun 30 15:14
Shared this in the Ukraine channel, but wanted to share it here as well
Jun 23 18:57
@User1865345 How many bipartisan bills have died in Congress since Trump took over? The current law allows for Congress to be notified after the fact, and that is what happened.
Jun 23 17:55
@User1865345 Why would Fetterman know that? Sure, there are a lot of things wrong with how he does things, but I don't think that comments on calling for impeachment are wrong. Especially once you remember that Obama has used military force without Congress before, and I am pretty sure Biden did so as well. My only concern about the recent Iran strikes is the reasoning behind them, and that they weren't done as a distraction or for any other reason than that.
Jun 23 17:51
In this case I think he got it right
Jun 23 17:50
@User1865345 How many times should we impeach and acquit him? All that does is give him and his base more ammo to gain support.
Jun 23 17:49
> The War Powers Act of 1973 stipulates that the president must notify Congress within 48 hours of military action and cannot deploy troops for longer than 90 days without a formal declaration of war. Only Congress can declare war, according to Article I of the Constitution, and the last time it did so was during World War II.

Public indecency is a very serious crime!

 Ukrainian Conflict 2022

Room for discussing the conflict in Ukraine.
Tue 22:30
But Ukraine surrendering isn't going to end the suffering that Russia is causing
Tue 22:30
Yes, we all know you want Ukraine to surrender to Russia
Jul 16 18:20
@sfxedit Yep all they need to do for peace is surrender their country to Putin and hope for a painless execution!
Jul 16 12:27
@sfxedit He also thinks that Mexico is going to pay for the border wall and that other countries are going to pay for the tariffs that he puts on them, among other things.
Jun 26 22:30
@sfxedit As opposed to the propaganda meant to make Russia look good and attack Ukraine?
Jun 22 16:11
@sfxedit Going to the good old Russian state-controlled propaganda site to try and smear Ukraine again.

Reading the comments on that, it seems very clear that it will never change, and the reasoning makes sense.
Jul 15 17:28
Thanks for that info
Jul 15 17:22
@bobble Interesting, I figured it was something like this though as that was 10 years ago wonder if they could reconsider it.

Jul 1 22:24
By this logic, wouldn't it mean that the US would not be able to put any illegal immigrant on trial for any crimes that they commit here, or put them in jail for any of those crimes?

I will work on a full answer later, but I think what you are seeing is perceived respect with people saying phrases that they are expected to say. In reality, veterans, at times, have to struggle for their benefits and fight the government to stop people from scamming them for their benefits.
