While you are correct that you can change the git history, you are incorrect in that you can hide it. Any push shows up in your private feed at https://api.github.com/users/<user>/events (note that it requires authentication)

Q: How to fix an Ubuntu server losing its IPv6 address without any traces inside the logs

FerrybigI have Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (GNU/Linux 5.15.0-1008-raspi armv7l) running on a raspberry Pi 3. For some reason, after around 2 days of uptime, it starts randomly removing its global IPv6 address. The IPv6 address comes back once the computer receives an ICMP RA packet. Rebooting the system gives anoth...

Does anyone know of a way to debug networking in Ubuntu? For some reason my system keeps losing its IPv6 address after around 2 days of uptime. My syslog is pastebin.com/RehhkrD0 (problem start around Jun 7 18:23:42), but it does not provide any clues. I have no clue which log files I should look at. My current workaround is rebooting ubuntu daily...

@Makyen Trying to get the certificate working would be the best, as github probably won't be able to send the status of pushed commits and finished builds to MS because of the certificate problem, meaning things like autopull won't work

@ArtOfCode It seems to also happen in an incognito tab (Google Chrome), without having any extensions active
Oct 15, 2019 19:27
@ArtOfCode I'm trying to sign up to your dear stack exchange letter, but it keeps giving the error "OAuth request must be over HTTPS" when trying to sign the letter. Is this another attempt from SE blocking this?

@Makyen I thought MS generated that message

@Stormblessed Probably because medium.com is not a spam site, but allos hosting of third party content that is a mix of spam and not spam. Also see the search research on MS for medium.com metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com/…

@Makyen One solution for this problem, is that when smokey calls git push, that it should pass a custom "credentials helper", something that can give usernames/password to the remote url on push operations

@SmokeDetector ^Spam seed, if you go into the profile of the user who posted that question, you can see that his profile also has a link to the spam domain that "his buddy" posted in the answers to that question

I usually use this view for viewing the commits of smokey: github.com/Charcoal-SE/SmokeDetector/network It allows you to quickly filter away the merge commits

I'm using the following registry settings on my PC, and never had Windows interrupt me for updates:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU]
"NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers"=-

It seems to be working for me, but other people say its no longer effective: https://superuser.com/questions/1066441/is-noautorebootwithloggedonusers-still-supported-effective-on-windows-10

@Shree Its never a problem to ping me, :) I found the issue in the script, the code used to detect smokey messages broke after smokey was updated to use git.io links instead of goo.gl, I pushed a asmall fix the to the regexexes used in spamtracker: install new version

Sidenote: Your way of directly applying power to the USB C receptacle (That you are using as power output) without checking the other device goes against the standard, which means if you accidentally connect the wrong wire to it, you could damage the other device of your own PCB. Consider an USB C plug or a USB A receptacle on your board

Just a quick tip when using your scope, if you plug in a FAT32 formatted USB stick, and press the print button, it makes a screenshot of the screen, and puts it on the USB drive. You get nice looking screenshots that way
