@DavidCarlisle @UlrikeFischer @daleif I created a question regarding the problem I mentioned: tex.stackexchange.com/questions/726567/…
Sep 15, 2024 10:26
@UlrikeFischer Ok
Sep 15, 2024 09:56
:)
Sep 15, 2024 09:56
I thought it was a simple question with simple solution, sorry
Sep 15, 2024 09:40
Does anyone know?
Sep 15, 2024 09:40
I would like to have some consistency in the table.
Sep 15, 2024 09:39
The only difference is that in the rows below I used \multicolumn
Sep 15, 2024 09:38
Why sometimes Latex add space in math mode and sometimes not?

Sep 15, 2024 09:37
Hello guys, can I kindly ask a question?
Mar 5, 2024 09:21
Hello guys, is there a math font "switcher" for \mathrm{} as for example \textrm and \rmfamily?
Nov 5, 2023 15:30
@AlanMunn Ok, thank you
Nov 5, 2023 14:35
@AlanMunn I changed a little bit the dimensions. Hopefully it will not be a problem.

Q: A specific design for a list mixed with a tree diagram with vertical propagation

RichardAs I am not proficient with Tikz and despite my efforts I did not find a suitable package, I would like to ask for an advice or alternatively for a solution concerning the following subject. The aim is to replicate the following list, which is somehow mixed with a tree diagram with a vertical pro...

Nov 5, 2023 14:33
@AlanMunn I created the question. Here is the link:
Nov 4, 2023 21:24
@AlanMunn I would say only one. I can make a question if you want.
Nov 4, 2023 20:33
Nov 4, 2023 20:33
@AlanMunn Ok, I made a better example. As you said the first implicit entries are meant to be implicit, since it is not necessary for me and I only need the depths and branches in my first sent image. In this picture I added a new branch to make it clear.
Nov 4, 2023 19:32
I will try to make a better example
Nov 4, 2023 19:32
@AlanMunn Exactly as you said
Nov 4, 2023 19:26
@AlanMunn I do not understand exactly what you mean.
Nov 4, 2023 18:51
@AlanMunn The main problem is that the input entries are pretty long, so it would not fit in the all text width. That is the reason I wondered if there is a vertical tree propagation, instead of horizontal. But thank you for the response 🙂.
Nov 4, 2023 18:18
@AlanMunn Simply speaking it is a list mixed with a tree diagram. The forest package does not create this kind of design. I only wondered if somebody has already created something similar. The 2 entries are a group and the third entry can be for example a different group.
Nov 4, 2023 17:19
@DavidCarlisle Ok, thank you
Nov 4, 2023 17:17
@DavidCarlisle Should I use Tikz for it?
Nov 4, 2023 17:16
Ok, I uploaded the image. I do not know if it will work. The list design I would like to achieve should be like this:

Nov 4, 2023 17:06
@mickep How?
Nov 4, 2023 17:04
Hello everyone,
I wonder if it would be possible to make a new list design or if there is an apposite package for it. I do not want to make a question, because I am not able to create the minimal working example. I want to know at least how to start and then proceed. Here I cannot post images, so could you kindly suggest me what I sould do?
Oct 27, 2023 18:40
@UlrikeFischer Ok, thank you.
Oct 27, 2023 18:07
Hello everyone, just a simple question. Can loading packages inside an own created package cause some problems?
Oct 26, 2023 21:11
@mickep My supervisor is not an expert in LaTeX. He sees only the output.
Oct 26, 2023 21:09
@DavidCarlisle I am novice to LaTeX and I am self-learner as well, so there are a lot of things not clear to me. 3 months ago I used only WYSIWG software and I am not a pure programmer, so obviously I am probably doing a lot of mistakes. Sorry for that 😐.
Oct 26, 2023 21:05
@mickep There are teachers and teachers.
Oct 26, 2023 21:04
@JosephWright I can say that to my supervisor
Oct 26, 2023 21:00
@DavidCarlisle Maybe I will try with tabular* without vertical rules.
Oct 26, 2023 20:59
@DavidCarlisle Yes, I know. I read it in the beginner's guide by Stefan Kottwitz as well. Despite everything the all mankind use them.
Oct 26, 2023 20:53
@DavidCarlisle I had problems with vertical rules
Oct 26, 2023 20:49
@DavidCarlisle I do not know other options to get a table with a dimension of textwidth 😐
Oct 26, 2023 20:45
@DavidCarlisle The fact is that I have 1 table par page, so to create more space I enlarged to the maximum space provided.
Oct 26, 2023 20:39
@DavidCarlisle It still works pretty well, sir. Even if it was not designed for that.
Oct 26, 2023 20:37
@mickep I do not mean there is a norm, which restricts the font. Simply the norms are written in this way. I can obviously change it, but I wanted to keep the same pattern.
Oct 26, 2023 20:28
@mickep What do you mean?
Oct 26, 2023 20:20
@mickep Furthermore I encountered some problems and I solved them by using the protect command. I still do not quite understand what a fragile and a robust command means or moving argument, since I started from LaTeX. Still I do not really know if it is worth to go though TeX.
Oct 26, 2023 20:07
@mickep It could be, but in the technical engineering norms in Czech republic they use this approach for some reason.
Oct 26, 2023 20:03
@mickep To make the column with scientific quantities more readable (a lot of subscripts and superscripts).
Oct 26, 2023 20:00
@JosephWright But I have only table on page without text
Oct 26, 2023 19:58
@AlanMunn Ok, thank you for the advice. Moreover I am using the tabularx environment to achieve always the full textwidth. In the documentation it is recommended to not use the multicolumn command through a X column. What does it really mean? Because I used multicolumn in a specific cell of a X column to change the table preamble and it worked.
Oct 26, 2023 19:49
@TeXnician Because I have mathematical symbols and stuff in the column like square roots
