Electrical Engineering

A place to talk with friends from the EE community about vacuu...
Aug 20, 2019 05:25
@W5VO If it happens, let me know
Aug 20, 2019 05:25
@W5VO Yeah, I take evening naps to be able to talk to night shift, so I understand. Sleep well!
Aug 20, 2019 05:25
@W5VO Yep :)
Aug 20, 2019 05:19
I also have a guest room if you make it to the greater DC area
Aug 20, 2019 05:19
@W5VO But sounds like a great idea.
Aug 20, 2019 05:19
@W5VO I was going to ask if you had moved around. I dont get to that area often, but I still love road trips, so you never know.
Aug 20, 2019 05:17
I for sure owe you a beer next time we are in the same location to discuss it. :)
Aug 20, 2019 05:17
@W5VO Interesting.
Aug 20, 2019 05:17
@W5VO I always laugh at asking someone, "you wore cotton underwear, right?"
Aug 20, 2019 05:15
@W5VO I am sometimes shocked how much energy can leave a faulting breaker. I mean, I know it as an engineer, but is different to be working and realize a safe distance is 70 inches away.
Aug 20, 2019 05:15
@W5VO Yeah, my bigger side projects have been improving how the company handles the employee health/safety.
Aug 20, 2019 05:14
@W5VO Agreed. It is a nice choice. Have you been moving around?
Aug 20, 2019 05:12
But you would rather the QA is a nightmare if it is a medical device, right?
Aug 20, 2019 05:11
About to finish the first major milestone, so about 13 months of work coming to completion, and the QA is a nightmare. :)
Aug 20, 2019 05:11
@W5VO Dream big, if only.
Aug 20, 2019 05:11
@W5VO Up to my eyeballs in a project delivery, the same, but installing new systems instead of maintaining old ones
Aug 20, 2019 05:09
@W5VO Sounds like the fun life.
Aug 20, 2019 05:08
@W5VO I know, I was going to message you next :) I saw you in here. It has been too long, how you doing, mate?
Aug 20, 2019 05:07
@NickAlexeev Visited Vladivostok, was incredible, and Kazan is still my favorite city, and if you dont have the soft sign, it was also the dish I would cook mac'n'cheese for Russians in.
Aug 20, 2019 05:06
@jippie US again, but I hope to visit Belgium in January
Mar 1, 2019 18:46
good, and you?
Mar 1, 2019 18:44
@SunnyskyguyEE75 Hello
Sep 30, 2018 22:17
@PlasmaHH Seconded.
Sep 4, 2018 23:34
@Shalvenay Allo :)
Sep 4, 2018 23:34
I do wish I had had more time to learn the language, but I worked very long days.
Sep 4, 2018 23:34
@NickAlexeev I was actually taught that right after arriving, but I forgot and asked someone, so I think I have to say that I can take zero credit
Sep 4, 2018 19:35
@W5VO I am still focusing on small teams, I just did 2 years in a smaller town in Russia. Was super cool. I miss it almost every day. There is something wonderful about being somewhere completely out of my element all the time, and always having something new to learn.
Sep 3, 2018 20:23
Back in the US for a project after my time in Russia. :)
Sep 3, 2018 20:23
@W5VO Yeah, mostly. :)
Sep 3, 2018 20:22
@W5VO Sounds like how things go :)
Sep 3, 2018 20:04
@W5VO They are going good. How are you doing?
Sep 3, 2018 17:32
@Shalvenay Ahh, I understand better now :)
Sep 3, 2018 16:30
Are you trying to do your arc flash study?
Sep 3, 2018 16:30
:)
Sep 3, 2018 16:30
@Shalvenay Well, I would say that is because they dont know
Sep 3, 2018 16:28
@Shalvenay like a barn on fire :)
Sep 3, 2018 16:27
@Shalvenay allo
Aug 25, 2018 13:06
@Shalvenay crazy for me, as my life always is. How are you?
Aug 25, 2018 13:02
@Shalvenay Allo
Aug 15, 2018 14:05
INteresting. It is a bit quiet I see
Aug 15, 2018 14:01
@Marla Allo
Jun 15, 2018 02:24
@ThePhoton Small city girl from the Volga region. :)
Jun 14, 2018 15:01
Luckily, my teacher and I are very good friends, and she is OK with such words, and admits they dont bother her. Unlike the first year we knew each other when she would for sure have been incredibly offended by any such speech, it is part of the cultural show.

Interesting note, she does not know the meaning of this phrase. She said maybe a different region or a phrase that has fallen out of use.
Jun 14, 2018 09:22
@NickAlexeev I appreciate the note. Interesting. I will ask my Russian teacher for her translation.
Jun 3, 2018 23:43
@NickAlexeev хаха!
Dec 25, 2017 04:46
@Shalvenay Good morning. :)
Dec 7, 2017 08:06
and I am glad they forgive the American asking about the USSR.
Dec 7, 2017 08:06
@NickAlexeev People here often have mixed views. The younger generation does not have any way to compare, but the elderly people I interact with are often very mixed. They like some changes but miss the previous prices and basic quality of life. Also, their jobs were much more stable in the smaller town I live in. You picked a profession and did that for life, did it well, and lived a very good quality family life. Anyway, it is always very interesting to discuss such things with people,
Dec 7, 2017 08:04
@NickAlexeev Very cool. Thank you for sharing.
Dec 5, 2017 12:08
@NickAlexeev Я вас не понял.
