I'd approve that edit if you needed it.

The pound sign £ is the symbol for the pound unit of sterling – the currency of the United Kingdom and its associated Crown Dependencies and British Overseas Territories and previously of Great Britain and of the Kingdom of England. The same symbol is used for other currencies called pound, such as the Egyptian and Syrian pounds. The sign may be drawn with one or two bars depending on personal preference, but the Bank of England has used the one-bar style exclusively on banknotes since 1975. In the United States, "pound sign" refers to the symbol # (number sign). In Canada ”pound sign” can mean...

Myself and BMitch are pretty much always pingable in this room for your spammer-nuking needs.

@MiG Gone, thanks!
Aug 17, 2022 14:23
@ChrisCudmore I don't see any obvious link between the two accounts. It might just be another retired electrician. Thanks for the heads-up.

It was spam-flagged in the FP queue, which knocks it out of the queue.

Not any more it's not! Thanks for the heads up

> unless you set high standards for identify-this-thing-from-a-photo, they'll end up as a magnet for lazy questions from idly curious drive-by users.

A long time ago in a chat room far far away, I said this, and still stand by it:
Jul 30, 2021 04:15
I just got rid of the [unidentifiable] tag because it was only used for that type of question.
Jul 30, 2021 04:13
Questions like "What is this thing?" with the subtext being "... that I'm not bothered to describe".
Jul 30, 2021 04:11
@GWarner So what you're saying is that identification questions are typically crap? Please don't legitimize them by adding an [identification] tag.
Jul 8, 2021 02:27
That makes sense thanks. I've left it blank in the past, hadn't realized that best practice has evolved. Now where's my <blink> tag?
Jul 8, 2021 02:22
yw. I saw one of yours with "ALT=" in the alt text; does that do something special?

@VoltageSpike Building an industrial glass furnace isn't on topic for Home Improvement. If in doubt about our scope, please drop in our chat room and ask. Myself and BMitch are usually pingable in there, and there are generally some hi rep users in there too. Thanks!

Wouldn't be the first time Europeans brought something along on their travels that turned out to be horrible.

Western North America too! It's considered such a pest that the city will even help you eradicate it if you're unlucky enough to have it growing.

Duly noted, thanks @Stephie. This is from the Hulin's Carnival dahlia that I previously asked about. The bud on the right looks like it'll be a solid red but hasn't opened yet.

It's the middle of strawberry season for me but there's a family of Jays in my neighbors' tree that have learned to raid my strawberry bed, so I've only had a handful so far. :( Expecting to not get many raspberries in a couple of weeks either.

Q: Measuring an irregular cavity

Johnson_AtollI have a compartment in a friend's center console that he asked me to help resize, reorder, adding padding to, etc. Basically the kind of things I'd need to know the dimensions of the overall cavity to know what will fit, how large it should be, how the curves are shaped, etc., to create a unit t...
