Hello, I would like to post a question but I am not so sure whether it is fine... I have recollection reading about a proof or a line of reasoning regarding to computational complexity and computer volume in cubic meter... maybe I have read it in the Italian translation of Бахвалов Н. С. Численные методы, 2 изд. М. 1975. i.e. "Metodi numerici" by Nikolaj S. Bachvalov . Anyone here have recollection like mine?

Hello, Donald Knuth wrote in his The Art of Computer Programing, Vol 1, about his notation for Fibonacci numbers "The notations we are using in this section are a little undignified. In much
of the sophisticated mathematical literature, $F_n$ is called $u_n$ instead, and $\phi$ is
called $\tau$." Why does he define is notation "undignified"?
