Also the button to post comments is now invisible

Not sure if this is related but what in the CSS is happening on the main site
Jun 21 00:30
If I systemctl list-units I see pinbot.service loaded active running in the output, but if I try to stop it, it says Failed to stop pinbot.service: Unit pinbot.service not loaded.
Jun 21 00:10
Okay I've updated the csproj file so it does just need to be restarted now
Jun 20 23:46
Actually I think I have to update a dependency version so just restarting it wouldn't help
Jun 20 23:32
@rydwolf My discord bot that's running on your droplet is acting up and may need to be restarted, but I don't remember the commands to do so. I'm pretty sure it's configured as a systemd service but that's all I can remember

Your script has stopped loading my pronouns (UnrelatedString's work fine, for instance) and I saw this error in the console

@lyxal A Big Bird and a Frog? Surprised no-one's made a Muppets joke yet
Feb 7 01:02
This language is mostly a joke
Jan 6 00:07
In this case it was @Ginger's VC plugin failing to connect the websocket

Wait, does this have a new favicon?
Jan 5 15:34
@Ginger question about the pronouns userscript: How hard would it be to refresh a single user, rather than everyone as ctrl-alt-shift-click currently does?
Jan 5 02:47
The only way the difference is observable is if you have one thread print out and another thread wait on stdin in the same tick
Jan 5 02:32
if you want to see the actual C++ code: github.com/bbrk24/Trilangle/blob/…
Jan 5 02:31
while True:
  for thread in threads:
    thread.run_one_tick()
Jan 5 02:30
To vastly oversimplify, it's like this:
Jan 5 02:29
@ATaco So as documented, all threads run in sync with each other. In practice it does this by running one tick on each thread in sequence in a single-threaded interpreter rather than making a huge mess of the codebase attempting to keep multiple low-level threads that well-synchronized
Jan 5 02:27
(in practice, if you try that, all your RAM are belong to us)
Jan 5 02:26
But yeah, true TC'ness -- with no memory limits -- requires multiple threads. There is a limit to how deep each thread's stack can be, but the language could theoretically support arbitrarily many threads
Jan 5 02:25
Also this is going to hit memory limits fast because it copies the entire tape whenever a single change is made
Jan 5 02:24
@UnrelatedString I think it's technically possible to be TC-modulo-memory-limits in Trilangle with only one thread but it is a major pain in the ass. Like look at this document from Trilangle 1.0 (before threading was added) and tell me you want to attempt this github.com/bbrk24/Trilangle/blob/1.0.0/turing_completeness.md

I now have a Python script that downloads the spreadsheet, looks at the most recent column, and updates my SE chat bio accordingly
Jan 5 02:20
I have been tracking my pronoun preferences in a spreadsheet

Does anyone know how to do a weighted median in google sheets with fractional weights?
Dec 8, 2024 16:30
@UnrelatedString This is what we do where I work, basically. It's a JSON file with all of our config info including private API keys

@Feeds Good to see that chat is as broken as ever
Nov 17, 2024 01:58
(I haven't logged in in months, for lack of need to)

@Ginger There's also Revolt, a FOSS Discord alternative that I technically have an account on
Nov 10, 2024 01:19
if you go out to even just tens of thousands
Nov 10, 2024 01:18
@Neil I think it produces weirder results for large x+y, since the window for a toss-up is relatively narrower
Nov 10, 2024 01:17
interesting graph
Nov 10, 2024 01:17
Nov 3, 2024 21:49
and your first example doesn't warn at all
Nov 3, 2024 21:48
I only get the latter (3.10)
Nov 3, 2024 21:36
And actually the second space there isn't needed, it can be print(1 as?String)
Nov 3, 2024 21:35
The latter warning happens whenever you pass a value of type T? to a function that takes Any instead of Any?
Nov 3, 2024 21:33
In Swift, this gives warning: cast from 'Int' to unrelated type 'String' always fails and warning: expression implicitly coerced from 'String?' to 'Any'
Nov 3, 2024 21:33
@mousetail'he-him' print(1 as? String)
Nov 3, 2024 21:22
@mousetail'he-him' Is there supposed to be code there? I just see an empty code box and a warning telling me I have to log in to edit it
Oct 31, 2024 22:57
wait no nevermind
Oct 31, 2024 22:57
@ATaco Wouldn't the 30's cancel out and leave gamespeed = 1/fps?
