Any chances you could make an executable of the game engine for Mac OSX?

@BaldBantha well I did propose a protocol with my bot, but it could be completed of course with other information, or modified if it's not useful enough.
Apr 27, 2017 15:37
So I guess var map = [[]]; for(i=0;i<this.gridHeight;i++) map[i]=[]; would do the trick instead?
Apr 27, 2017 15:27
@programmer5000 ah ok
Apr 27, 2017 15:22
@programmer5000 I assumed it creates an empty 2D array?
Apr 27, 2017 15:21
@programmer5000 thanks!

createBot({
team: 'blue',
name: 'bAssistant',
ontick: function(environment) {
return new Promise((resolve, reject) => {
if (this.x) this.storage['position'] = [this.x, this.y];
this.storage['aroundMe'] = this.aroundMe;
if (typeof this.storage['map'] == "undefined") {
var map = [[],[]];
this.storage['map'] = map;
}
var blue = []
var red = []
var x = this.storage['position'][0];
var y = this.storage['position'][1];
var dx = [-1, 0, 1, -1, 0, 1, -1, 0, 1]
var dy = [1, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0, -1, -1, -1]
(this.aroundMe || {}).forEach((item, idx) => {

Ok so I'm trying to create a blue bot, that send every turn its position as well as the map of encountered landmines it compiled to its teammate; and that tries to join one or several of its teammate to defend them. However I never wrote anything in javascript in my life: can someone check on my code to see if it actually does what I think it does?

Does it mean you didn't rerun those matches?

@PhiNotPi What does "cached" mean in the new leaderboard?

I don t really understand hungarian but i think the translation you linked is indeed only the Poetic Edda, as far as I can see.
Jun 16, 2015 11:24
Ah I just noted that we did add the list of previously picked book to the question.
Jun 16, 2015 11:22
Other than that your solution is a viable alternative indeed.
Jun 16, 2015 11:22
"someone is going to post a duplicate answer eventually." -> if the previously picked book are mentioned in the question itself, it shouldn't be a problem.
Jun 16, 2015 11:21
@Yannis "not all info from the answer you've deleted is available elsewhere " -> this could be solved by quoting the answer when creating the monthly post for each new pick.
Jun 16, 2015 08:45
@Christofian Yes the Q&A form of the Gylfaginning is very interesting and a bit reminescent of the Völuspa (the Völuspa is in fact quoted several time throughout the Gylfaginning) as well in which it is Odin himself who query a phophetess. Wikipedia claims that this is common in nordic sagas ('Gangleri is then challenged to show his wisdom by asking questions, as is the custom in many Norse sagas') but they don t give sources for that claim.
Jun 16, 2015 08:36
@HDE226868 Yes i think it's better, to avoid clutter, so i deleted mine (and got a nice badge as a reward actually :) )

Thanks to the all-caps it went straight to the low-quality post queue.

I posted it on Physics, Chemistry, Biology and GIS
May 22, 2015 07:19
if anyone want to do something better, have a go at it
May 22, 2015 07:19
May 22, 2015 07:19
Well ok... Then I'll post this:
May 21, 2015 12:41
( Physics and GIS being also potential targets for us probably)
May 21, 2015 12:40
We talked a little last year about placing ads for our site on other SE sites but, as far as I know, didn't really act on it. Now that both Chemistry.SE and Biology.SE are graduated (and thus we can submit an ad there) wouldn't that make sense to give it a try?
May 16, 2015 07:19
@Michael When are you expecting to graduate?
May 15, 2015 15:46
i hope that designer will still be working for SE when we ll graduate, I kinda like what he s doing
Apr 16, 2015 06:22
Anyone at EGU this year?
Apr 10, 2015 06:57
@Neo Why not simply "Objectives" or "Rationale"?
Apr 2, 2015 06:27
:(
Mar 28, 2015 08:16
So, so far the only tag badge one can have on ES.se are for , and .
Mar 28, 2015 08:13
@SabreTooth vis-à-vis tag badge: you might actually not get it yet because a tag need to have at least 100 questions before anyone can get the corresponding tag badge (meta.stackexchange.com/questions/67397/…). as it stands only has 58 questions.

the geography in particular was very peculiar, with an almost exclusively oceanic northern hemisphere
Dec 11, 2014 13:43
now that i think of it i probably met Munnecke as well, last time i went to Erlangen for a DFG meeting
Dec 11, 2014 13:41
(after my MSc, he moved to Lille and started working on paleozoic, while i went to berlin to do my phd on neogene radiolarians)
Dec 11, 2014 13:40
yes I'm more familiar with his work on ordovician though (my MSc advisor is one of his collaborator, the second author in fact on the paper you linked from GFF)
Dec 11, 2014 13:38
glad someone enjoyed the challenge :)
Dec 11, 2014 13:37
Indeed, except from Axel Munnecke there isn't a lot of peopel who seems to have worked on silurian paleoclimatology recently
Dec 11, 2014 13:36
just saw your cool answer to my Silurian question
Dec 11, 2014 13:35
yes?
Dec 4, 2014 10:17
@Michael they were called "Moderators".
Nov 25, 2014 11:03
indeed. Your answer in particular is very thorough. (Unfortunately I can only upvote it once :) )
Nov 25, 2014 10:53
@EnergyNumbers I won't have time to answer that question but if you want to do so, Klemme & Ulmishek, 1991. Effective petroleum source rocks of the world; stratigraphic distribution and controlling depositional factors AAPG Bulletin, 75: 1809-1851. might be a good starting point
Nov 25, 2014 10:52
@SabreTooth nice to see someone else participate in the topic challenge on paleoclimatology :)

Jun 6, 2015 06:41
@Christofian I think it's a good idea indeed.
Jun 3, 2015 08:26
(not that it is a big issue, mind you)
Jun 3, 2015 07:12
So, I don't want to post an nth meta post on tag usage but, as much as I understand the need for a vs tags separation, it seems that in practice, the way that those two tags are used, there is an 100% overlap between them. The excerpt tag for states that this is for questions on greek mythology from 8th century BC to 6th century AD, but every single question tagged concerns that time period as far as I can see.
May 18, 2015 14:27
what do you call chat events? Weekly topic challenges might be a good idea (particularly if we choose at first non-greek topics, it might help render the "greek mythology" imbalance issue moot as well).
