@BeastOfCaerbannog never ceases to amaze! lol

Forgot we can't delete messages after a certain time.

Ignore the above - found the fix. Apparently the nvidia driver somehow got (silently) removed?! Anyway, it's been fixed.
Sep 13, 2023 12:24
This is my biggest puzzle so far, and I'm frustrated tbh.
Sep 13, 2023 12:24
Can anyone help me make sense of this?

Q: External monitors not detected?

RolandiXorI have a MSI GE76 Raider 11UE, which has been working just fine with my external monitors (except for some driver issues recently) until this morning. I didn't change anything before this happened. All I know is, the mouse cursor disappeared on my external monitors when using Wayland, then when I...

@Rinzwind oh of course. I haven't used Windows in years, no plans to change that now.

Sent the email.
Apr 19, 2020 10:31
thanks!

I do miss the old days, but all things must change.
Apr 19, 2020 10:30
@jokerdino I do.
Apr 19, 2020 10:30
@DarkCygnus nuked approximately from orbit ;)

Hey everyone, just a heads up: I'm considering stepping down in the near future. Obviously, I'm not around often any more, and I can't really be of any use to the site.

I'm not making this decision lightly as I still feel a "connection" to the site/community, but it's for the best.

All the best to everyone, especially my potential replacement(s).

Bit of an "emergency" - I need help install untrunc (github.com/ponchio/untrunc) to recover a video. A bit too tired/busy to think. Anyone know if there's a PPA?
Sep 18, 2019 02:36
@WinEunuuchs2Unix fair enough.
Sep 18, 2019 02:20
I know, but I used to use both tools, is what I'm saying. I want to refamiliarize myself, even if just for the sake of the general knowledge.
Sep 18, 2019 02:16
@WinEunuuchs2Unix understandable. I want to get back into Python and C++ - but time, interest, and motivation.
Sep 18, 2019 02:00
I only use PHP and even Javascript when I have to. I'm more of a HTML + CSS guy.
Sep 18, 2019 01:24
lol
Sep 18, 2019 00:45
I'm telling you, it's magic.
Sep 18, 2019 00:45
Didn't work
Sep 18, 2019 00:27
Sorry for my rant.
Sep 18, 2019 00:27
For instance, if everything is in place as it should be (I checked configuration files, logs, etc), and I've followed the documentation word for word - then wth man?
Sep 18, 2019 00:26
People CAN do better.
Sep 18, 2019 00:26
Technology DOESN'T have to be this complicated and confusing.
Sep 18, 2019 00:26
But, I gotta be honest... sometimes, the errors I come across really tick me off - just in general.
Sep 18, 2019 00:26
@WinEunuuchs2Unix I sort of feel that way too lol
Sep 18, 2019 00:25
It could be done, but I'm not in the mood to wrangle with it.
Sep 18, 2019 00:25
Too much on my plate.
Sep 18, 2019 00:25
@WinEunuuchs2Unix too much work, seeing as I'm one man.
Sep 18, 2019 00:25
@WinEunuuchs2Unix Features are my primary motivation, honestly, but security as well.
Sep 18, 2019 00:24
No useful errors in the server log, nothing wrong with the configuration files, just random magic.
Sep 18, 2019 00:23
This, despite everything I can find indicating that nothing whatsoever is wrong.
Sep 18, 2019 00:23
I upgraded from 16.04 to 18.04, and BOOM! PHP no longer works.
Sep 18, 2019 00:22
But, I can't for the life of me see what went wrong.
Sep 18, 2019 00:22
For security reasons.
Sep 18, 2019 00:22
It needs to be upgraded though.
Sep 18, 2019 00:22
Restoring my backup and moving on.
Sep 18, 2019 00:22
I gave up.
Sep 17, 2019 23:48
Except, everything I can find indicates that everything is in place as it should be.

My issue is very similar to this:
Sep 17, 2019 23:35
I'm going through a million tabs right now trying to find a potential cause/solution.
Sep 17, 2019 23:35
Not sure.
Sep 17, 2019 23:25
So far, nothing is working.
Sep 17, 2019 23:25
I know the solution is probably super simple, but I'm trying to track it down.
Sep 17, 2019 23:25
Plus, it's really a simple (I assume) issue - upgraded to Ubuntu 18.04, with Nextcloud installed, and now it's spitting out raw PHP.
Sep 17, 2019 23:24
(Been on this site long enough to know)
Sep 17, 2019 23:24
@WinEunuuchs2Unix I'm not hoping to open a question since it will just be lost in the ether ;)
Sep 17, 2019 23:01
This is happening with Nextcloud.
Sep 17, 2019 23:01
It's very simple: my server is saying PHP is not installed/enabled, even though it is.
