@TimR which sense of "off" in merriam-webster.com/dictionary/off applies to "sound off"?

When the order between zig and zag is exchanged, does it still mean the same, as "zag when others zig" in the second example ?

@Gantendo I am not working currently, but studying by self. I am getting familiar with NixOS and try to upgrade my old version, and see if I can install VPNs, and also Shadowsocks, which I don't know anything about. If not, I will have to install Debian. will pay if it becomes necessary to use a nonfree VPN. I am a light user of the internet.

@Gantendo thanks. I downloaded the one at transferxl successfully. It is very thoughtful of you adding zip archiving on top of password-protected 7z archiving. Not sure which one works around GFW, the archiving strategy or file hosting site. I am using NixOS, and it can be a challenge to install it from AppImage. Even if I manage to install it, I am not optimistic it will work (well), since the technology underlying GFW is so advanced that it can detect contents of internet traffic via most VPNs.

@Gantendo thanks again. I tried to download the files several times, and everytime it failed after downloading just about 2 MB. Probably because the internet I am using isn't the Internet

@Gantendo (1) thanks for your upload. I am using Linux. Will it work? (2) Thanks for the link of oscar.org.uk. How did you find it out? Did you use Google, which is also inaccessible among other major search engines?

@cmw if only I believe in what you claimed. I am not self ashamed even if I am the minority. I had tried to avoid reading your comments that are ill mannered till this post, to keep myself composed. I don't know who don't have self reflection.

Apply my comment to those that hold similar mindsets. I would have if metas could make such people more open minded.

First of all, you have already sent a message to me as a warning before moving to suspending my account on this site, and anything I will say will be used against me. So what can I say? But I will still say that I don't feel my posts are welcomed on this site by the moderators, even though my posts are okay. Many comments left by the moderators show that they don't have reasonable levels of acceptance and understanding of situation and thinking process different from theirs

After I reminded you of what has happened, I am impressed with your insistence on the lie you made up and by those that upvoted your lies without verifying the truth. I posted it here, you deleted it immediately, and then I knew my post was not welcomed here, and switched to History Stack Exchange to post it there. My post at History didn't exist when you deleted my post here, so no way you deleted it because you had seen it there. I think you are just trying to hide why you deleted my post and to accuse me of posting the same thing at two sites.
Tim
Jun 19, 2023 18:22
You could compare the timestamps, if stack exchange recorded the time the post, undeleted now, was deleted. Did I have any other reason to post it twice?
Tim
Jun 19, 2023 18:22
I think you stated the wrong order. You deleted it here, so I posted it elsewhere, and then I noticed that my post here was undeleted. My questions, as stated in the post, are only related to the previous posts, at the best.

I was wondering if someone can help me find posts by any user on the Unix/Linux site about hard drive failure around Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec of 2021? How do you write the queries in the search box of the main site, and in SEDE database of stack exchange? Thanks.

I would like to connect from the Windows computer in workplace to my personal laptop running Linux. Is it possible to do that by creating a virtual machine on a cloud like AWS or Oracle, and then creating SSH tunnel between the Windows computer and the cloud VM, and between the cloud VM and my Linux laptop?

Does airline not hurry to sell the vacant seats in the last few days? Or do they more worry about that would drive people to not buy tickets till the last minutes? I am trying to see if I should hope for deals in the following days

Thanks. I am very interested in the cache consistency problem. I don't know whether that's the cause of the problem. The origin and destination are both very large cities and I guess they are worth more resources allocated to them. Your website looks nice
