 D&D 5e 2024 Working Group

Group chat for discussing meta guidance for the upcoming D&D 5...
Aug 21, 2024 02:54
Also this was prompted by the pop-up when I downvoted suggesting I leave a comment. ;)
Aug 21, 2024 02:51
TLDR: is discussion ended? If not, where should it be?
Aug 21, 2024 02:51
It's not clear if the majority will win a vote/proposal or if this is just an intent to collect initial directional feedback for further discussion. This post asking this chat comment implies the criteria is "well received" seems to imply some unspecified number of downvotes may be sufficient. I guess I'm just curious if these are final proposals and this is a final vote, or if there will be more opportunity to discuss.
Aug 21, 2024 02:49
@V2Blast It's more of a meta question. In the initial question collection post, it was clearly stated to "direct any responses/suggestions to [this] chat room". However, the Gudance Proposals post simply says to "indicate approval of a proposal with an upvote, and disapproval with a downvote" without any mention of further discussion...
Aug 19, 2024 20:19
If we want to explain our downvote on one of the questions, should we do it in a comment there or a chat room here?

Thought this was spam at first but just a stupid NAA: stackoverflow.com/a/73817989/1161484
Oct 28, 2021 01:13
Curious about whether this is unattributed: same last name as author seems suspicious. Flagged link only NAA in any case stackoverflow.com/questions/32170456/…

Although I'd prefer we tweak the rules to, for example, not always have "offensive" and "toxic" triggering together and doubling scores.
Oct 19, 2020 07:17
@Mast I know that there's always at least one human in the loop to prevent a fp autoflag from completely nuking a post, and I'm willing to accept the risk of declined spam flags on the rare occasions when that human intervenes.
Oct 19, 2020 07:15
@Mast My goals are to autoflag spam and eliminate it as quickly as possible from the site.
Oct 19, 2020 07:14
@Mast >=3 reasons, 120 score, hand-picked sites to avoid ones that cause fp on the problematic rules.
Oct 19, 2020 07:13
@Mast "work great" depends on your goals.
Oct 19, 2020 07:10
@Mast I'd have to raise it above 193 for all 6 of the rules I complain about :)
Oct 19, 2020 07:03
@SmokeDetector Retracted flag, although it's still rude. This is another one that wouldn't have autoflagged if my proposal on Teams were implemented. :)
Oct 15, 2020 15:41
@SmokeDetector Acknowledged.
Oct 15, 2020 15:39
@SmokeDetector Flag retracted after edit. This wouldn't have been a tp autoflag if my double-counting proposal were accepted. ;)

Oct 14, 2020 22:12
@Spevacus Sneaky indeed.
Oct 14, 2020 06:30
Another autoflag spam that should have been R/A. Dang smokey. :D
Oct 14, 2020 06:04
gotcha
Oct 14, 2020 06:03
does the watchlist assume a space after the term?
Oct 14, 2020 06:02
ooooh

Oct 14, 2020 05:52
what if I want to take my Ford Escort to the dealer for service?
Oct 14, 2020 05:51
I was first with the "optional" barrage! :D
Oct 14, 2020 05:50
@RyanM you might want to make the s in escorts optional
Oct 14, 2020 05:45
how does "escort services" not trigger a higher spam score?
Oct 14, 2020 05:39
@NobodyNada RE: "In the end, your flags are your own and you are free to use them as you wish" unless I've delegated to Smokey, who used "spam" rather than the R/A I would have used. ;)
Oct 14, 2020 05:38
@NobodyNada Responded to the teams post. :)
Oct 14, 2020 05:17
Sorry, hadn't read that far back in history. I understood system-level block as "prevent from posting" rather than an automatic "death penalty for slightest transgression"
Oct 14, 2020 05:16
@NobodyNada I may share your opinion, but I also think the vast majority of users are acting in good faith. And there's a lot of useless noise posted in good faith.
Oct 14, 2020 05:14
Under the heuristic "there should be a system level block" ... there should be a system level block, kindly asking OP to actually write a question.
Oct 14, 2020 05:12
@NobodyNada So... this means what? Allow such a question, edit it and answer it? Just close vote? Flag VLQ instead?
Oct 14, 2020 05:07
@NobodyNada I went to flag it R/A but saw smokey autoflagged (for me) as spam. Same effect.
Oct 14, 2020 05:05
@NobodyNada dang all those programmers trying to hack robux. :D
Oct 14, 2020 04:50
@RyanM I think my son was making money (well, robux) back when he played. Now he's costing me money getting a CS degree in college. :D
Oct 14, 2020 03:24
Would be nice to whitelist morningstar on the finance SE
Oct 14, 2020 03:18
I won't tell you how much of my kids' allowance is used to purcase robux, btw. Perhaps i should read some of those spam questions.
Oct 14, 2020 03:17
robux: 29 tp / 3 fp.
Oct 14, 2020 03:15
I almost think robux by itself is near-watchable.
Oct 14, 2020 03:05

Oct 12, 2020 21:43
There's a better joke in there about infix vs. prefix notation but it's Monday and my brain is dead.
Oct 12, 2020 21:33
@NobodyNada they were remarking on "Ahead of time" vs. "Of Ahead Time"
Oct 12, 2020 21:31
@SmokeDetector So I'm going to mark "should be a comment" NAA
Oct 12, 2020 21:29
@SmokeDetector I actually think this was an attempt to jokingly answer the question.
Oct 11, 2020 17:10
@VictorVosMottor Took me a few tries to figure that out myself :)
Oct 11, 2020 15:55
Yep.
Oct 11, 2020 15:54
@VictorVosMottor Which one? I've been tp-ing all thetopsites.net answers I've been seeing
