@ohwilleke But was the monarch not supposed to ensure the protection of the citizens?
Jul 31, 2024 09:40
Good answer, but were they the first to propose this idea, or were they merely the first to emphasize it? Did their political theorist precursors emphasize a different purpose of government?

May 16, 2024 21:58
@AndyBonner Seems correct. Here's the score.

Is the original Halo theme song's chant (beginning at t = 2:27 here) based upon a real Gregorian chant (such as could be found in GregoBase)?

@JMY1000 Marketing campaign. I need to send hundreds of thousands of SMSs, and most online providers only do tens of thousands.
Jan 19, 2024 17:45
@RomeoNinov I see elsewhere that SIM800C doesn't (nor did the SIM900A device I had, that didn't work).
Jan 19, 2024 17:41
I'm looking for something like this but with LTE or 5G support.
Jan 19, 2024 17:29
@RomeoNinov So about 1.4 SMSs per second per SIM.
Jan 19, 2024 17:27
@RomeoNinov Oh, that's simply how fast the standard allows?
Jan 19, 2024 17:23
@RomeoNinov What about rates? SMSEagle's seems slow: 1 SMS every 2 seconds.
Jan 19, 2024 17:20
@RomeoNinov I'm not familiar with that. (I'm new to SMS marketing.)
Jan 19, 2024 17:18
@RomeoNinov I'm using a Tello SIM; their terms don't mention limits for number of SMS messages.
Jan 19, 2024 17:18
@RomeoNinov True, but I don't think 2G is available in my area. My particular SIM card only supports 4G LTE and 5G.
Jan 19, 2024 17:18
@JMY1000 To send out many SMSs rapidly. I've seen things like SIM900A (which isn't LTE or 5G), but I need something that works with 4G LTE or 5G, preferably with an SMA antenna connection.

@anongoodnurse "Why do you insist that it is a term that was in use by physicians?" Because it appears in a 1916 and 2002 medical dictionaries. Springer Lexikon Pflege's entry "Embryektomie" cross-references the English word "embryectomy". "I believe embryectomy is a proper term for animal experiments where embryos are removed for research purposes." That could be, but my question remains: What is the treatment of an ectopic pregnancy called?
Oct 11, 2023 22:24
@anongoodnurse Or the 2002 Springer Lexikon Pflege (Springer Encyclopedia of Nursing), also quoted in my question.
Oct 11, 2023 22:24
@anongoodnurse But "embryectomy" appeared in Stedman, Practical Medical Dictionary (1916), p. 302 that I quoted
Oct 11, 2023 22:24
@anongoodnurse But embryectomy ≠ induced abortion (embryotomy, yes). The reason I keep asking this question is that embryectomy is a precise term, so why has it fallen into disuse?

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 So, one has to rewrite/flash the firmware in order to change the VIN?
Dec 9, 2022 20:03
I'm not too familiar with flashing VINs, but that wouldn't seem to require rewriting and flashing the firmware. I could be wrong.
Dec 9, 2022 20:03
I'm familiar with putting custom firmware on routers and bricking them. There's usually a way to restore the factory firmware.

I forgot I asked "Open source software for automotive ECUs?" on softwarerecs.stackexchange.com in 2017. It hasn't received any answers…
Dec 9, 2022 20:03
Interesting. There's probably some open-source software on GitHub that could be used.

@MikeBorden That means the Son is consubstantial (has the same Divine Essence) with the Father. Sometimes God means God the Father (1st Person of the Trinity); sometimes it means the Divine Essence.

@NigelJ Celibacy is a higher calling with a greater reward: Mt. 19:27-29: "Peter answering, said to him: Behold we have left all things […] And Jesus said to them: […] every one that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall possess life everlasting."
Nov 30, 2021 14:43
@NigelJ Where did I say one must be celibate to follow Christ?
Nov 30, 2021 14:43
@NigelJ "you are demanding that all must become celibate in order to follow Christ" Where did I say that? I said that St. Peter "left all things" (incl. his wife) for Christ's sake.
Nov 30, 2021 14:43
@NigelJ "We have no evidence that Peter ever became 'celibate' after marriage." Matt 19:27: "Then Peter answering, said to him: Behold we have left all things, and have followed thee".
Nov 30, 2021 14:43
@NigelJ "she was also in an 'indissoluble' bondage which did not permit her to be released to marry another man" Yes. Your point?
Nov 30, 2021 14:43
@NigelJ You're assuming St. Peter didn't obtain his wife's permission. Also, St. Jerome et al. are not claiming St. Peter divorced / "put away" his wife; St. Peter's and his wife's marriage bond remained indissoluble while they lived.
Nov 30, 2021 14:43
"That's not really the passage I had in mind" It's very relevant. Is there a better passage?

Aug 25, 2021 18:43
@OneGodtheFather Yes, and what exactly did you object to in those edits?
Aug 25, 2021 18:43
@OneGodtheFather "Rephrased subject to emphasize it's about intentionally eating in a way so as to decrease fertility." That's exactly what I did in my edit. What exactly did you object to in that edit?
Aug 25, 2021 18:43
@OneGodtheFather You said "The point is about intention". I agree. But your question is asking about veganism and soy-based diets.
Aug 25, 2021 18:43
I’m voting to close this question because discussing the effects of certain diets on fertility pertains more to Veganism & Vegetarianism StackExchange than to Christianity StackExchange.

Jun 7, 2021 14:39
@ClarkRadford Another reason is your question "Needs more focus", since you're asking multiple questions. You're free to open another question asking whether the Catholic Church participated in genocide. Even then, such a question would be better suited for History StackExchange.
Jun 7, 2021 14:39
I’m voting to close this question because it's a loaded question.

@Grasper "baby Jesus in Mary's womb" was not a "glorified body".
Apr 20, 2021 15:00
@BrianMcCutchon Are you arguing that her virginitas in partu isn't miraculous?
Apr 20, 2021 14:57
@Grasper That's why it's a miracle.
Apr 20, 2021 14:56
@BrianMcCutchon One doesn't have intercourse during childbirth…
Apr 20, 2021 03:34
@BrianMcCutchon That she remained a virgin during childbirth is de fide dogma.
Apr 20, 2021 03:32
@BrianMcCutchon What does the Church mean by virginitas (corporis) in partu (virginity of the body during parturition), then?
Apr 20, 2021 03:28
@BrianMcCutchon "Would you agree with that statement?" No. The Fathers have determined "more closely how this is to be physiologically explained" by saying that it is miraculous (like how His resurrected body passed through the sealed tomb or walked through doors/walls).
Apr 20, 2021 03:28
@BrianMcCutchon When the Church speaks of virginity during birth, she primarily means virginity of the body.
Apr 20, 2021 03:28
@curiousdannii That's not how the Fathers considered her hymen when they likened Christ's birth to His resurrected body passing through the sealed tomb or walking through doors/walls.
Apr 20, 2021 03:28
@curiousdannii The hymen to do with virginity of the body (virginitas corporis).
Apr 20, 2021 03:28
@BrianMcCutchon That's definitely not true. "Catholic" Answers isn't orthodox. The de fide dogma on her virginitas in partu (virginity during parturition) refers primarily to her bodily (physiological) virginity. How can they honestly claim "the Church has no official teaching on the physiological aspects of Jesus’ birth"?

@AnthonyBurg You say "St. Paul's personal belief about 'end times'", that "the time is short/contracted" (1 Cor. 7:29), is false; yet you say "St. Paul write[s] inerrantly in 1 Corinthians". Which is it?
