@UlrikeFischer Big upset: PEBCAK issue, fc-cache has been meanwhile created, but I was too *** to search correctly/look on the right place. Very embarassing!
Apr 14, 2020 17:27
@UlrikeFischer Yes, I do not have it in Program Files Folder.
Apr 14, 2020 17:24
@UlrikeFischer Being to only user on my machine I actually want to avoid the admin mode. I think it’s easier for me to create the alias by hand. initexmf --mkmaps in user mode does not create the alias.
Apr 14, 2020 17:18
@UlrikeFischer No, I don’t. I’ve just now intentionally installed a font package with OTF fonts, but no fc-cache alias was created, too. But the fact you have an fc-cache.exe means it generally works and something here is the problem. This also means the comment why I opened the issue could be deleted. then. Thanks.
Apr 14, 2020 17:11
Hello, admins, could you, please, ping @ChristianSchenk (BTW greaat that he is meanwhile active in TeX.SE). Or @UlrikeFischer could you contact him? It’s regarding github.com/MiKTeX/miktex/issues/438 Christian’s claim does not work for me (fc-cache.exe is created on package updating).

@HenriMenke I feel like @UlrikeFischer. It is perfectly reasonable to warn, if there are security issues, but the strong wording in the public goes too far in my opinion. You could have written this per some kind of personal message. Note: I noticed @StefanKottwitz’s reaction.

@StefanKottwitz Ah, ok.

@Speravir Maybe even some people active here, but how to find out?
Jan 31, 2020 22:20
@barbarabeeton You could check whether you know someone of them: Category:User latex-5 – Wikipedia, Category:User latex-4 – Wikipedia, Category:User latex-3 – Wikipedia.
Jan 31, 2020 22:12
@barbarabeeton Sorry, no. Maybe you know someone who is active in LaTeX and in Wikipedia and friends (or know someone who knows someone …)

Jan 19, 2020 18:57
@Skillmon This is exactly the sentence from your doc I referred to. I was just curious, and for the case you would change your mind I wanted to point you to this other serious bug of keycommand. Your assumptions about it are informing, thx. (BTW I could yesterday not open the chat, I had in general problems with the whole stackexchange site.)

@DavidCarlisle Yepp. I just noticed after commenting.

@DavidCarlisle Thx. Seems, you correctly inserted the missing not within your mind when reading my last message above ;-).

Speaking of this it is from the same guy who wrote tabu and is inactive for years. Aparently, he did react to Joseph’s info about this bug. @DavidCarlisle or @JosephWright would there be a way to add a note into CTAn about this bug and the possible fix?

A: How do I use \ifcommandkey , or how do I check if a key was given?

Joseph WrightThe \ifcommandkey approach There is a bug in the definition of \ifcommandkey (2010/04/27 v3.1415). It is missing out one stage of expansion of the \commandkey (see the analysis in the section below), and as a result does not test the value of the key. (cont.) After investigation I found out:
* The original document has `hyperref` and `hyperxmp`, and a `\hypesetup` after `\begin{document}`, and this works.
* Disabling `hyperxmp` works.
* Moving `\hypersetup` before the document beginning works.
The issue here is the endless loading without any error. An almost minimal working example:

Serious part: @DavidCarlisle or @JosephWright: Is this worth investigating? I have an older document that I wanted to update (links). It contained two now deprecated packages from KOMA-Script which now throw warnings. I remembered the package silence i had used for other dcuments, but his lead to an endless loading. (cont.)
