If you want to contact me, @AndyD273, @James, and @Green know how to reach me.

So I said I'd give SE some time and see where they went. I was planning on giving them until the close of the year to make actual, appreciable forward progress on any of its numerous trip-ups. They haven't, and apparently they've decided to take feedback and hide it and hide discussion. Since this is an actual, appreciable regression, I'll go ahead and head out now. See you guys, I hope you all take care where your lives take you. Good luck in all you do. :)

Flat Earthers are in the running.
Nov 26, 2019 19:17
@MorrisTheCat You say this, but... :P
Nov 26, 2019 19:16
I'm right of center when using this chat's center, but I'm not pro-Trump. Which typically means most social circles... well I avoid politics around them.
Nov 26, 2019 19:14
@Bellerophon Most social circles that I come across either have a tense, awkward avoidance of politics, or you can get them riled up by either saying you're for Trump or against Trump, as the case may be.
Nov 26, 2019 19:13
@Bellerophon I think the wings are moving further from the center and increasing, from what I've seen. There seems to be a lot of "if you're not with us you're against us" that I think hasn't been seen to this degree the US since the height of McCarthyism.
Nov 26, 2019 19:11
Something like that.
Nov 26, 2019 19:10
@MorrisTheCat I mean, if it's something he said, a video. Something he tweeted, a link to the tweet.
Nov 26, 2019 19:09
@MorrisTheCat I think the best way to discuss this would be for you to provide examples, and let Andy weigh in on the examples.
Nov 26, 2019 19:07
Conversation hints back why we shouldn't do "majority rules" for voting, but use something like SE's system... or one of the many variations. It really attacks several of these things at the core.
Nov 26, 2019 18:56
If you're saying one thing, I agree with you. Another I don't.
Nov 26, 2019 18:55
@AndyD273 Don't think it matters in what context/pertaining to what?
Nov 26, 2019 18:40
@James Ouch.
Nov 26, 2019 18:24
@MorrisTheCat I'd argue "put through college" is a bad standard. But go on.
Nov 26, 2019 18:22
@MorrisTheCat Or are they?
Nov 26, 2019 18:17
@MorrisTheCat Okay, that sounds like step #2 or step #3. What happens first? People aren't doing that today. What changes to make that happen?
Nov 26, 2019 18:14
@MorrisTheCat So I'm not saying you're wrong, but if that's the path forward... what does the path forward look like? How does one go about this "fix?"
Nov 26, 2019 17:51
@Bellerophon Yep. The Constitution (including amendments) can have every Federal law challenged if they conflict. The Constitution and the Amendments are less about laws themselves, and more about challenging government action or other laws. In theory, anyways. Also in theory state laws can be overturned if ruled "non-constitutional" but that's a very gray, hit-and-miss deal. However for anything to be challenged as non-constitutional it has to be pushed up to that level from a lower court.
Nov 26, 2019 17:18
And maybe you could argue it wasn't important to unite the "states," but we were at the point where it was somewhat shocking that anything was agreed upon.
Nov 26, 2019 17:17
@Bellerophon So our current country is Try #3 at having a government. Our first just survived our "War of Independence," our second fell apart spectacularly. The third was just trying to get something together that people would actually join and wouldn't fall apart. Us not tackling everything was necessary to become one.
Nov 26, 2019 17:14
@James Same answer as to my favorite riddle.
Nov 25, 2019 22:49
@Mithrandir24601 I believe he was a dad before he even had a kid.
Nov 21, 2019 22:30

We had a guy retire having worked 50 years here.
Nov 21, 2019 22:13
@James Example of the day?
Nov 21, 2019 14:58
AFK for meeting
Nov 21, 2019 14:58
Like if they set to a task they're great about putting work into it, but... in my experience they're more likely to be rambunctious, reckless, and not-quite-as-responsible.
Nov 21, 2019 14:57
I'll buy "typically hard workers" but I feel like "almost always [...] responsible" is a stretch.
Nov 21, 2019 14:56
@Gryphon-ReinstateMonica EHHHHHHH
Nov 21, 2019 14:53
Everyone causing trouble, I hope?
Nov 21, 2019 14:53
Gooooood morning.
Nov 20, 2019 21:44
@Gryphon-ReinstateMonica Government infrastructure (not roads, but book keeping, people, and processes) breaks down to the point where you can't use the actual system, and it would be an actual danger/threat to maintain camps of prisoners. Even in the Civil War behind the lines of battle society went on.
Nov 19, 2019 22:42
@Gryphon-ReinstateMonica Breaths on glass Jurassic Park style
Nov 18, 2019 22:08
My memesense has failed me.

Nov 18, 2019 22:07
@Mephistopheles Eh?
Nov 18, 2019 22:04
@James And... actually this is me. I avoid 99% of political discussions because it's one of the three main things that get me really mad. I'm generally very easy going and whatever, but politics just gets under my skin real bad.
Nov 18, 2019 22:01
Which there's a lot of overlap on with "gamers" from "incel" (but not the other way around), but they're not describing the same group.
Nov 18, 2019 21:59
@Mephistopheles I think you're more looking for the term "incel," or that's the name/term I hear associated with those phrases.
Nov 18, 2019 21:56
@Mephistopheles What did you need help with? Was my definition not clear, or it didn't help in the context?
Nov 18, 2019 21:50
@James Ha!
Nov 18, 2019 21:47
@Mephistopheles Did my definition help clarify whatever you were looking into?
Nov 18, 2019 21:47
@Gryphon-ReinstateMonica There's one. Don't get greedy.
Nov 18, 2019 21:47
@James I'm not even a smoker, but I thought you were talking about that.
Nov 18, 2019 21:46
@Gryphon-ReinstateMonica I could, I guess in reverse order?
Nov 18, 2019 21:45
In general, I'd say a PC or console gamer who game enough to make it their hobby. Not that mobile gaming isn't gaming, but that's normally not the population that the term attempts to capture. Normally when it's used it's referring to men, not women--see previous note.
Nov 18, 2019 21:44
@Mephistopheles Depends on the context.
Nov 18, 2019 21:43
I wish I could star an exchange...
Nov 18, 2019 21:41
@James I mean, you can say this, and you're right, but many political groups get witch hunts created around them. Everything from commies to MAGAs have hate camps.
Nov 18, 2019 21:40
@Gryphon-ReinstateMonica Are you referring to Bernie?
